- Chapter 1 - Good Girl: Does Sister Have a Girlfriend? (1)
When Lu Huan opened her eyes, she found herself in a four-person dormitory, currently empty except for her.
Sitting on the edge of the bed without moving, her first priority was to absorb the world background transmitted by the system to facilitate her next actions.
After reviewing the information, she let out an amused chuckle.
The body she had transmigrated into was also named Lu Huan. She had just celebrated her birthday two months ago and was now a freshman in college. Shortly after military training ended, the National Day holiday began. With her parents busy at work and no one at home, she hadn’t returned.
Of course, another reason was that her girlfriend wouldn’t let her go back, insisting they take advantage of the long holiday to go out together.
The original host’s girlfriend was named Jiang Wenshu. They had gotten together in high school when Jiang Wenshu pursued the original host. After several months of rejection, a group of school bullies targeted the original host. Jiang Wenshu happened to witness this, fought with them, ended up in the hospital, and confessed her feelings from the hospital bed.
Seeing Jiang Wenshu battered and bruised, the original host finally nodded in agreement.
From that day to now, it had been exactly one year.
Today, Jiang Wenshu declared it their first anniversary and planned to take her to a gay bar, accompanied by some of Jiang Wenshu’s friends.
They were a bunch of unsavory characters. At the bar, Jiang Wenshu’s friends slipped something into the original host’s drink. Unaware, Jiang Wenshu was busy boasting to her friends, mostly about her girlfriend. The original host endured both the physical discomfort and the sting of Jiang Wenshu’s harsh words until she couldn’t take it anymore and retreated to the restroom.
Unexpectedly, one of Jiang Wenshu’s friends followed her, harassing the defenseless original host in the bathroom and filming the incident to blackmail her. Terrified, the original host didn’t dare tell Jiang Wenshu or anyone else.
After that, the blackmailer repeatedly used the video to force her off campus to check into hotels. The relentless pressure took a toll on the original host’s mental health, and she grew increasingly haggard. While her roommates noticed something was wrong, Jiang Wenshu remained oblivious.
Jiang Wenshu still occasionally dragged the original host to bars to hang out with those friends. In places where Jiang Wenshu couldn’t see, the blackmailer continued to whisper humiliating threats in the original host’s ear.
During another such gathering, the original host finally snapped. She shattered a wine glass and, without hesitation, drove the stem into her own neck. Blood sprayed everywhere, splattering Jiang Wenshu and the group of so-called friends. The shock of the hot blood left them frozen in place as panicked screams erupted throughout the bar.
The incident had significant repercussions: the bar was shut down, and everyone connected to the original host was questioned by authorities. When the truth emerged about the prolonged blackmail and abuse, both those who knew her and those who didn’t expressed sympathy. Over time, however, from strangers to acquaintances, people gradually forgot about the original host’s death, only occasionally mentioning it in passing.
The ones who suffered the most were the original host’s parents, especially her mother, who fell ill and passed away within six months. Her father lived the rest of his life in anguish.
As for those who had harmed the original host, they eventually forgot and carried on with their lives as usual.
While washing up, Lu Huan finished reviewing the materials. Staring at the gentle and obedient face in the mirror, she curled her lips slightly that innocent face now seemed to carry a hint of wicked charm.
Her phone in the room rang, it was Jiang Wenshu calling.
“Huanyuan, are you downstairs yet? I’m waiting for you at the playground.”
“Okay.” Tossing the phone onto the table, Lu Huan began changing clothes. She pulled a white dress from the original owner’s wardrobe, paired it with matching cotton socks and white sneakers. After checking herself in the mirror and finding her hair a bit too plain, she braided a small section near her forehead.
Smiling at her reflection, she snapped her fingers. “Perfect.”
It took her less than ten minutes. Grabbing her bag, she headed downstairs and walked toward the playground. From afar, she spotted Jiang Wenshu.
[Ding, the target of your mission has appeared.]
Above Jiang Wenshu’s head was a large arrow with a progress bar indicating her affection toward the original host. Once the bar reached 100%, the mission would be complete.
At that moment, the progress bar above Jiang Wenshu’s head showed only 20%.
Jiang Wenshu was engrossed in watching some boys play basketball and didn’t notice Lu Huan’s arrival. It wasn’t until Lu Huan approached and called her name that she snapped out of it. Smiling, she wrapped an arm around Lu Huan’s shoulder and said, “Let’s go. My friends are already here. We should join them.”
Lu Huan frowned, feeling slightly uncomfortable. “Won’t it be awkward if I go?”
“Don’t worry.” Jiang Wenshu tugged her toward the school gate. “All my friends are from our circle, and they’ve brought their girlfriends along. It’d be embarrassing if I didn’t bring you.”
Lu Huan sneered inwardly. So, you’re dating a girlfriend just to compete with others?
Then again, Jiang Wenshu wasn’t a lesbian to begin with, she was straight. Even now, with a girlfriend, she remained straight.
To Jiang Wenshu, Lu Huan was merely a tool to satisfy her vanity, her need to compete, and her sense of superiority in being different from those around her.
Yes, superiority.
Ever since same-sex relationships entered the public eye, they had become a trend in some circles.
And Jiang Wenshu, wanting to keep up with the trend, decided she needed a girlfriend too.
Back in high school, Lu Huan was the most outstanding girl, top grades, stunning looks, a great figure, and an impeccable personality. Both classmates and teachers adored her; she was the epitome of the “perfect child” parents praised.
Jiang Wenshu, considering herself exceptional, believed she had to date the most remarkable girl.
The thought of how Jiang Wenshu had used emotional manipulation to force the original host into accepting her confession made Lu Huan sick to her stomach.
“Sweetie, are you hungry?” Unaware of the fleeting disgust in Lu Huan’s eyes, Jiang Wenshu rubbed her stomach and said, “I skipped dinner just to wait for you.”
As if waiting a mere ten minutes was such a hardship, Lu Huan thought sarcastically, but aloud she said, “How about we grab a bite first before heading over?”
“No way.” Jiang Wenshu shook her head. “They’re already there. It wouldn’t be good if we’re late.”
Lu Huan recalled that half an hour earlier, the original host had eaten a bowl of wontons. A faint, satisfied smile touched her lips before vanishing instantly.
They hailed a cab and arrived at their destination in about ten minutes. The area was bustling with people, thanks to the snack street nearby and the numerous university campuses in the vicinity. With the National Day holiday in full swing, the place was packed with students.
The air was thick with the aroma of barbecue, crayfish, and spicy hot pot.
The two made their way through the snack street and entered a narrow alley in the latter half. Emerging from the alley, they were greeted by a wide road, brightly lit on the opposite side. Directly facing the alley was a bar.
Lu Huan glanced at it Color Flag Bar. The neon sign flickered incessantly, with the colorful flag pattern particularly dazzling. Anyone in the community would know exactly what it meant.
Several people stood in small groups at the bar’s entrance. Some had just stepped out for a breath of fresh air after drinking, while others were likely waiting for friends to join them.
Jiang Wenshu, being a frequent visitor, navigated the place with ease. She pulled Lu Huan along as they headed inside.
This was Lu Huan’s first time at a bar, and her impression of it was akin to her high school homeroom teacher’s warning about internet cafes, a place she shouldn’t go.
A stamp was pressed onto the back of her hand, and before she knew it, Lu Huan was dragged inside by Jiang Wenshu in a daze.
As soon as they entered, a deafening sound washed over them. The vibrations underfoot startled Lu Huan so much that her eyes widened in shock.
It had to be said, Lu Huan was truly beautiful. Her outfit that day starkly contrasted with the bar’s atmosphere, yet it was precisely her innocent and charming appearance that drew many gazes the moment she stepped in. Even with Jiang Wenshu by her side, people couldn’t help but stir with interest.
“Sweetie, stay close to me. Don’t get lost,” Jiang Wenshu said, leading the way while Lu Huan followed closely behind.
As they walked through the crowd, many women brushed against her intentionally or unintentionally. Lu Huan’s face flushed crimson, her flustered demeanor making her look like a little lamb that had wandered into a pack of wolves.
Yet, deep down, Lu Huan was enjoying it. Her eyes discreetly scanned the surroundings, and she mentally whistled in admiration. She hadn’t expected so many beautiful women to be here, it was truly a feast for her eyes.
“Sweetie, come quickly!” Jiang Wenshu had already settled into a booth, surrounded by a few women, all her dubious friends. Among them was the very person who had drugged the original host and later threatened her with compromising videos, a despicable individual.
Spotting the woman with a buzz cut and tattoos covering her arms and neck, a cold glint flashed in Lu Huan’s eyes, though she maintained a nervous expression on her face.
She didn’t miss the looks these women gave her, especially the buzz-cut woman, whose greedy gaze made Lu Huan feel sick.
“Sweetie, sit here,” Jiang Wenshu said, clearly pleased with everyone’s reaction to Lu Huan. She lifted her chin proudly, radiating excitement, and patted the empty spot beside her, inviting Lu Huan to sit.
Lu Huan hesitated for a moment before taking the seat.
The scents of perfume, cigarette smoke, and various other odors enveloped her.
“Little one, are you of age?” asked a woman with long, wavy hair sitting next to Lu Huan. She had a seductive look, especially with her attire, a V-neck that plunged nearly to her navel.
“Mm-hmm,” Lu Huan nodded timidly, keeping her head lowered as if afraid to look around. It was obvious she was a first-timer here.
Jiang Wenshu chuckled and said, “My sweetie turned eighteen two months ago. I even celebrated her birthday with her alone.”
“Xiao Jiang, I have to admire your taste. You’ve found such a beautiful girlfriend,” a woman with a bob haircut on the other side remarked enviously.
“Did you ‘eat’ her when you celebrated her birthday? How did she taste?” a androgynous voice chimed in.
The other women burst into laughter. “Anke, you’re so naughty! The little one is right here, and you’re saying such things.”
“Yeah, she’s going to get shy hearing this.”
Jiang Wenshu’s face stiffened for a moment, but no one noticed except Anke, who had just spoken.
Anke, the woman with the crew cut, now wore a meaningful expression, her eyes fixed on Lu Huan as if she had spotted prey.
Lu Huan kept her head lowered, feigning discomfort and restlessness, acting as though she might flee at any moment.
Seeing her like this, Anke grew even more delighted.
Jiang Wenshu quickly composed herself, masking her embarrassment with a smile, and said, “You all don’t need to know how my sweetheart tastes, go find your own little darlings.”
The group of women burst into laughter.
“Oh, but we can’t help it, we’ve never seen such a delectable beauty before.”
“Exactly, exactly.”
“Little sister, let me buy you a drink.” Anke pushed a pink cocktail toward her, smiling. “This one’s called ‘Pink Lady.’ May it bring you a wonderful romance.”
Staring at the pink cocktail and then lifting her gaze to meet the woman’s subtly dangerous smile, Lu Huan nervously picked up the glass and murmured, “Thank you.”
As she looked down at the drink cradled in her hands, a faint smirk tugged at the corner of her lips in the shadows where the light couldn’t reach. But as the flickering lights swept over her, her expression quickly smoothed back into placidity.
