The Crybaby is Coaxed Every Day by Bad Men in the Infinite World - Chapter 1
Chapter 1: Bullying
“This is an academy where Mary Sue tropes and ghosts coexist. Here, there is a tradition of seniors bullying newcomers.”
“Your identity: A transfer student with a reading disability.”
“You are an introverted transfer student—gloomy, silent, and submissive. Everyone can bully you; you are viewed as an outlier. To force you to drop out, they must resort to extraordinary measures.”
“Clear condition: Survive for 7 days.”
“Your faction: Player Faction.”
“For your safety, do not reveal your faction when you are unsure of others’ identities.”
“Newbie Tip: Since the player is a newcomer, the system will provide appropriate hints in specific situations to increase the survival rate.”
This was the tenth time System 1024 had repeated the world background. It was also Yu He’s first day being pulled into the Infinite World. Because of his reading disability, he would get even simple paragraphs mixed up.
Yu He always walked with his head down, staying in corners, fitting the gloomy and silent image of the transfer student. Someone had specifically come to deliver a message, telling him to go to the rooftop. The messenger wore a loose tie and a messy uniform. After a long moment of trepidation, Yu He finally dawdled his way to the rooftop.
The dilapidated rooftop was bustling. A relatively thin youth was being shoved around like a ball being passed. Messy strands of hair covered his eyes, revealing only a part of his pale, pointed chin. Dust rose like mist in the golden sunlight. The rooftop was made of rough concrete; red marks from spiderweb-like scrapes on his morbidly weak arms were exceptionally eye-catching.
He was shoved heavily to the ground. Then, a bucket of cold water was poured over his head, the chill traveling from his scalp to the top of his skull.
“Hahahaha!”
“Look at him, he looks just like a water ghost pulled out of a sewer.”
“Ugly freak! Ugly freak!”
Yu He choked until his nose and eyes felt sore. Two people held him down by the shoulders, making him unable to move. He could only lower his head and cough incessantly. The teenagers’ jeers and insults rose and fell, never-ending.
He knew these seven days wouldn’t be easy; these people wanted to use bullying to force him to drop out. Even after mentally preparing himself, Yu He still trembled with fear—he wasn’t brave to begin with.
A pair of expensive sneakers stopped in front of his knees, with a baseball bat standing on the ground nearby. Yu He didn’t dare look up, fearing even more violent bullying.
“It’s him. This ugly freak is so arrogant; he doesn’t greet people when he sees them and hasn’t ‘honored’ you according to etiquette. He needs a good lesson.”
Whenever a new student enrolled, manuals were distributed to establish authority. The first rule was to give a gift to the gang leader, Yin Heng. Because of his reading disability, understanding the manual was difficult for Yu He. Even if 1024 repeated it, he couldn’t follow through. He was a newcomer and had nothing.
“Ugly freak?”
The voice was impatient and arrogant. The tie around his neck was gone, replaced by complex and intricate silver jewelry. The teenagers pulled back their aggressive expressions, becoming as obedient as kittens.
“I’ve never seen him raise his head.”
“No one even knows what he looks like.”
“He’s probably too scared to look in a mirror; he must be really ugly.”
Yin Heng gave an “un” of curiosity and signaled them to let go. He pressed the baseball bat against Yu He’s shoulder, using a very flirtatious gesture to tilt his chin up and brush aside the wet black hair clinging to his face.
Yu He happened to be facing the sunlight. The stinging light made him unable to open his eyes fully, his eyelashes fluttering.
A boy with dyed yellow hair jeered: “Usually he just crawls into corners, how ‘unpresentable’ is he exactly? Today, let Brother Heng open everyone’s eyes and see just how… ugly… this freak is…”
The nasty words prepared for mockery suddenly stopped the moment they saw Yu He’s face. The jeering, laughing, and insulting voices went abruptly silent.
The golden sun poured over Yu He’s face. His hair, soaked by cold water, clung messily to his pinkish cheeks. Transparent water droplets slid down his jawline, disappearing into Yin Heng’s palm. The droplets were clearly ice-cold, yet they felt like a searing burn that reached the lungs.
Stunned and dazed, a rare silence hung in the air. A single thought flashed through everyone’s mind: Who the hell is this?
Yu He knelt on the rough concrete, his shoulders pressed down firmly, forcing his body forward. To catch his breath, he tilted his head high, revealing a beautiful neckline. His full lips parted as he panted, each breath forming a white mist that vanished into the air.
[Auto-Reminder: Xia Huanye has added you to (Special Concern)]
[Auto-Reminder: Ling Lan has added you to (Special Concern)]
[Auto-Reminder: Yin Heng has added you to (Special Concern)]
[Auto-Reminder: …]
After about a minute, another notification popped up.
“A total of 48 people have added you to (Special Concern), including System NPCs, Player NPCs, and regular players.”
“There are currently 48 people present.”
“(Special Concern): A reminder will be triggered when the target appears within a 10-meter radius. Duration: 24 hours (Can only be used once per dungeon).”
“Note: Only a reminder; no direction will be provided.”
This was the first time they had seen Yu He’s face clearly.
The cold rooftop wind swirled against Yu He’s face. His pink-white cheeks were flushed, and his beautiful eyes were misty and wet. Physiological tears hung at the corners of his eyes from the choking, and beneath his wet lashes were black pupils washed bright and transparent. His chin even had a rose-colored mark from where Yin Heng had pinched it.
His palm felt as if it had been branded by a hot iron. Yin Heng, like a long-starving wolf, fixed his insatiable gaze on the mark on Yu He’s chin.
Did I do that? Was I that rough? But… no one told me Yu He looked like this…
Yu He was pulled up by Yin Heng. His standing posture exposed his entire figure; his narrow waist was outlined perfectly by the soaked, nearly transparent fabric—it was slim enough to be held with one hand.
When someone else tried to step forward to interfere, Yin Heng smashed the baseball bat directly into their face. After a wail of pain, Yu He’s face turned even paler.
“Are you okay?” Yin Heng draped his jacket over Yu He, introducing himself clumsily. “I… my name is Yin Heng. The people who bullied you just now, I’ve already taught them a lesson.”
The slender body beneath the jacket was trembling slightly, and the tip of his exquisite nose was pink from the cold. Yin Heng felt heartbroken; he took the slender hand into his palm like a treasure, focusing intently on wiping away the mud and dirt from Yu He’s skin.
The Infinite World didn’t lack handsome men or beautiful women, but even those used to beauty had never seen a beauty like this. In his most disheveled and miserable state, he presented the most breathtaking aesthetic. He didn’t seem real; he looked like a vivid, heavy-colored oil painting.
1024: “Get on his good side. Yin Heng is a key NPC; I just overheard players whispering about it.”
“Yin Heng,” Yu He’s voice was very low. “Thank you for the jacket.”
After choking on water, his throat was still uncomfortable. His soft, waxy voice was raspy, adding a touch of seductive allure. The boy who was arrogant just moments ago became so nervous that his palms sweated just because the other person called his name.
His heart began to race for no reason. For the first time, Yin Heng discovered his name sounded so good.
Then he heard Yu He ask in a light, aggrieved, and pitiful tone: “Can you please not bully me?”
Yin Heng froze. Yu He didn’t demand justice or throw a tantrum; instead, with a pitiful, lowly posture, he begged Yin Heng not to bully him. He looked so aggrieved, like he was about to cry.
At close range, Yu He was even harder to look away from. Water clung to him; his snowy neck and collarbone were pink from the cold, his cheeks were flushed, and his eyes were dazed. His trembling eyelashes made him look like a piece of fragile glassware.
How could a young high school boy have ever seen such a sensuous scene? He immediately gave a promise: “No one is allowed to bully you.”
This promise stunned the players present. Yin Heng, a key system NPC, was famous for his terrible personality. They had spent so much effort, gifting this and that, just to barely get on his good side. Yet Yin Heng had never given such a high-level commitment.
And this newcomer, having just arrived, had easily achieved what they could not.
Yin Heng asked for Yu He’s dorm number. Yu He was too scared to speak, thinking Yin Heng wanted to find him during the lunch break to cause trouble.
1024 reminded: “Your dorm hasn’t been assigned yet.”
When Yu He answered as such, Yin Heng looked a bit displeased but didn’t say much. After they exchanged contact info, Yin Heng had to go to class. After he left, Yu He logged into the academic system to check his dorm number.
Double Dorm A410. Roommate: Unknown.
Opening his phone to edit a text, Yu He felt a headache coming on as he looked at the wall of text Yin Heng had sent. He told Yin Heng his dorm was A401.
1024: “?”
“I think he’ll come to find trouble with me,” Yu He whispered. “I’m scared.”
“A401 is an empty dorm. If he can’t find anyone, will he get even angrier…?”
“Yin Heng has a high favorability toward you. He is the Vice President of the Student Union. If you please him, surviving 7 days won’t be hard.”
One second Yin Heng was bullying him, the next he was being nice. With Yin Heng’s unpredictable personality, he might try to kill him tomorrow. Yu He didn’t believe Yin Heng would be nice to him for no reason.
1024 wanted to tell Yu He that other players struggled immensely to get on Yin Heng’s good side, yet he had only shown his face and made Yin Heng’s eyes unable to turn away. It was highly likely Yin Heng fell in love at first sight. Utilizing this point, surviving 7 days would be as simple as breathing. But system hints were limited; 1024 could only imply this much.
Yu He found his dorm and wanted to take a shower before the afternoon swimming class. Looking at the label on the opposite bed, he realized his roommate was Xia Huanye, one of the people who had given him “Special Concern.”
1024 gave him a newbie gift pack containing a potion. After applying it, his skin returned to its original state—even more tender than before.
“Why did they give me ‘Special Concern’?” Yu He asked while applying body wash. The excessive attention made him a bit afraid; he wasn’t a brave person.
The heat from the shower steamed him until he was pink and moist. His skin was already white and tender, and now he was flushed all over. Milky white bubbles slid across his waist and abdomen, rolling down his slender white legs; in the hazy mist, his knees were rose-colored.
1024: “Don’t overthink it. The fact that they are using ‘Special Concern’ now proves this dungeon isn’t very difficult; they are simply curious about you.”
“Mhm.”
It was unclear if Yu He took it to heart. He pressed his hand, which was red from the heat, against his cheek. His exquisite lips pursed more noticeably as he let out a satisfied whimper. “So comfortable.”
1024: “…” Forget it, I’ll explain later.
After changing into new clothes, Yu He put his dirty clothes in the laundry bin under the table. He wanted to find something to eat, but the school cafeteria and convenience store weren’t open to the public, and he didn’t have enough points to exchange for food. He had been hungry all day.
On the way, many people stared at him or took photos with their phones. He lowered his head in unease and quickened his pace.
After enduring until the afternoon swimming class, Yu He checked off his name on the attendance sheet and slipped away immediately. There were no teachers in this school; skipping class should be fine, right? He only needed to survive for seven days. If he lowered his presence more and more and hid in a corner, maybe he wouldn’t die.
Hearing noisy footsteps outside, he quickly hid in a small room on the side. He pressed himself against the door, standing on his tiptoes with his ear against the wood, his face focused intensely on the sounds outside.
“Did Yin Heng really take a fancy to Yu He?”
“Probably. He said whoever dares to flirt with Yu He, he’ll break their legs.”
“Yin Heng went to find him during lunch and couldn’t find him. He was so angry he threw a fit and is publicly searching for him now.”
“Can we use Yu He to exchange for clues?”
“Definitely. But more than that, I’m curious to see how Yu He will be tortured once he falls into Yin Heng’s hands.”
“With those thin arms and legs, he’ll be ‘done’ to death, right?”
The laughter gradually faded. Once certain no one was left, Yu He’s body went limp. Yin Heng was indeed angry. No wonder people were taking photos of him everywhere; no wonder everyone was looking at him. What would Yin Heng do if he found him? Would he really kill him? He had to leave here quickly and hide.
In his anxiety, Yu He opened a crack in the door, only to unexpectedly lock eyes with a pair of emotionless blue eyes. A chill seemed to travel through that gaze and into his veins. Terrified and trembling, he tried to slam the door shut.
A hand with distinct joints pressed firmly against the doorframe. Yu He tried to force the door closed, but the other person was too strong. His face turned red from the effort, but the door remained stuck and unmoving.
Thinking of what the players had said about exchanging him for clues, Yu He’s legs shook, but he stubbornly didn’t let go.
“You won’t want to attract more people.” The voice was as cold as his aura, leaving no room for negotiation. “Let me in.”
His expression told Yu He that he was not the easy-to-talk-to type. Yu He timidly let go of the door. He stood there like an elementary schooler, head down and hands wringing, his legs squeezed together. His long lashes trembled like butterfly wings about to fall in the wind.
Just looking at his appearance, he was indeed the type to easily attract people. He looked innocent, fragile, and harmless; a soft silhouette framed his gorgeous features, yet his eyes were clean and clear, radiating a sense of naivety.
Taking advantage of the moment when the youth wasn’t looking, Yu He bolted toward the door to escape, but he was suddenly grabbed by the back of his collar and fell heavily into an embrace. A cold fragrance aggressively invaded his senses, and a large, cold hand was pressed against his lips.
Yu He’s eyes widened in shock as he struggled in panic. However, in the face of absolute strength, his resistance was useless; instead, it made the youth look down at him repeatedly.
“Don’t move.”
The youth’s voice was cold and clean, reminiscent of thick snow in a frozen land. With his other hand, the youth took out his phone and made a call. The moment the call connected, Yu He could feel the vibrations from the other’s chest against his back.
“I found him.”
The indifferent voice made Yu He’s spine go cold; it was too heartless, without a trace of warmth. Soon, he heard another male voice that terrified him even more.
“I’m coming over right now.” As if that weren’t enough, he added through gritted teeth, “Don’t let him run away.”
