The Cold Sister Is Too Flirtatious - Chapter 2
The saleswomen’s eyes lit up again at the sight of Leng Yao.
One was vibrant and lively, charmingly cute. The other was aloof and stunningly beautiful, seemingly untouched by worldly concerns. Even the most glamorous actresses on television couldn’t compare to these two. Whether they made a purchase or not, their mere presence in the store was a guaranteed advertisement!
“Welcome, ma’am! Your sister asked you to help her choose. Would you like to pick something for yourself as well?”
Leng Yao had visited clothing stores before, and the sales assistants were always enthusiastic. But she had never encountered such overwhelming enthusiasm as this. It’s all thanks to my sister! My idol’s charm is truly boundless!
Rejecting the sales assistant’s suggestion, Leng Yao quickly selected a ready-made outfit suitable for Lin Tingxue.
Lin Tingxue examined the clothes—all black, with minimal embellishments. Won’t interfere with cultivation. Wearable.
She attempted to transform the garment onto her body with a single gesture.
Leng Yao felt the clothes in her hands begin to float upward and immediately sensed danger. She quickly grabbed Lin Tingxue’s hand, interrupting her spell. Leaning closer, she whispered, “Sister, you can’t change like that. You need to use the fitting room.”
Lin Tingxue glared at the presumptuous little girl who had seized her hand without permission, a rare flicker of annoyance rising within her. If she hadn’t retracted her spiritual energy in time, the girl would have been injured. How troublesome it is to constantly be careful around such fragile mortals.
Still, she obediently followed Leng Yao’s instructions and went to the fitting room with a shop assistant.
Leng Yao waited outside, clutching the water cup the saleswoman had given her and grinning foolishly. I’m actually picking out clothes for my idol myself! Is this some kind of dating sim? Time to whale! I’m going to whale like crazy today!
“Leng Yao, come in.”
Come in? Leng Yao thought she must be hallucinating. Did my sister just ask me to come in?
But she still scurried into the fitting room.
Lin Tingxue’s back was bare, revealing her delicate and beautiful butterfly bones.
“Help me put this on.”
“Yes, Sister,” Leng Yao replied, her hands and feet suddenly clumsy as she rushed forward to assist.
She quickly realized why Lin Tingxue couldn’t put it on herself. The dress looked simple, but it was cleverly designed. At the neckline was a flower-shaped button that needed to be gently pressed to fasten.
The fitting room was cramped, and the privilege of dressing her idol personally left Leng Yao sweating within moments.
She stammered, “Sister, why don’t you just use your spiritual energy? You could put it on in a flash.”
“You said I shouldn’t wear it that way. I’m listening to you.”
Lin Tingxue’s earnest tone struck Leng Yao’s heart like a critical hit.
“Sister, I’ve been so good!”
Leng Yao felt a cool hand brush her forehead. Lin Tingxue’s melodious voice drifted down from above: “You’re sweating.”
Flustered, Leng Yao clutched her forehead and bolted out the door. “Sister, come out later. I’ll wait for you outside!”
Lin Tingxue mused to herself: Why does she act like a startled rabbit? Sweating so much in such a short time… Human bodies are indeed fragile. I should take this weak rabbit to cultivate someday.
Outside the fitting room, Leng Yao gulped down two large glasses of water before regaining her composure. Life lesson: never get too close to your idol, or your heart will explode sooner or later.
“Ma’am, may I get you another—” the saleswoman began, reaching for a glass.
Both the saleswoman and Leng Yao froze mid-motion.
Flustered in the fitting room, Leng Yao hadn’t gotten a good look at Lin Tingxue. Now, she saw her clearly.
The all-black outfit, with its impeccably tailored lines, showcased Lin Tingxue’s exquisite curves. Her waist was so slender it seemed a single hand could span it, making the internet’s “A4 waist” trend look utterly pathetic—less than a tenth as impressive as Lin Tingxue’s.
My sister’s waist isn’t just a waist—it’s a lethal blade.
“Swipe card!”
“I’ll take this one.”
Leng Yao’s excited voice overlapped with another unfamiliar woman’s. Turning to look, she saw a meticulously dressed girl pointing at the outfit Lin Tingxue was wearing.
The sales assistant hesitated. “Ms. Bai, I’m sorry, but this customer asked for it first, and there’s only one in the entire country.”
“Hmph! Look at her clothes—can she even afford it? A bunch of country bumpkins!” Bai Chacha sneered, sizing Leng Yao up and down. “If I want it, my sugar daddy will buy this whole store for me. You’d better show some respect.”
Leng Yao was dressed cutely today, but her outfit was clearly ordinary, not high-end. She was also holding a pink Kirby helmet, making her look even less like someone wealthy.
“Don’t you know what ‘first come, first served’ means? Or do you not understand human language? How dare you try to snatch my sister’s clothes!” Leng Yao bared her claws, ready to pounce, but Lin Tingxue stopped her.
“Here, take it.”
Hearing Lin Tingxue’s words, Leng Yao felt a pang of hurt. “Sister, why would you give it to her? Are you worried I can’t afford it? It’s just one outfit, it’s fine.”
Lin Tingxue shook her head. “This outfit is too complicated for me. It suits her better.”
“Hahahaha! My sister said it perfectly!” Leng Yao laughed, clutching her stomach. “You’re too complicated, always taking the roundabout way. Unlike our sister, who’s both beautiful and kind.”
Lin Tingxue didn’t understand what Leng Yao was laughing at. She simply disliked cumbersome clothing that hindered her cultivation. But seeing Leng Yao in such high spirits, especially after she had fiercely defended her earlier, a faint smile flickered in her eyes.
A fiercely protective little rabbit.
Bai Chacha found herself in an awkward position, unsure whether to buy the dress or not. But Lin Tingxue looked so stunning in it, she desperately wanted to own it, and even more, to humiliate the two sisters.
Her face twisted with displeasure. “Wrap it up! Don’t you shop assistants have any sense of style?”
The saleswoman hurried to process the payment with Bai Chacha’s card. After a moment, she returned. “Madam Bai, your card has insufficient funds. Could you have used the wrong one?”
Bai Chacha’s face contorted in disbelief. “Impossible! My Sugar Daddy just transferred money. Try again.”
The saleswoman bowed politely. “We’ve already tried three times.” She added tactfully, “Since this is a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted piece, the price is quite high. This dress costs 250,000 yuan.”
The dress looked simple, but even the flower-shaped button was carved from a single diamond.
Bai Chacha’s face grew increasingly distorted. “It’s just 250,000 yuan, right?”
“Looks like someone can’t afford it and is just putting on a show,” Leng Yao sneered from the side, tilting her head to look at Lin Tingxue. “Sister, you agree, right?”
Lin Tingxue nodded.
Leng Yao hadn’t expected Lin Tingxue to actually respond, and her arrogant little flame burned even brighter. See? Even the most fair and selfless person in the Cultivation World agrees with me now!
Bai Chacha’s face flushed a purplish-red, like a pig’s liver. She pulled out her phone, her long, red-painted nails deftly tapping open her contacts. The contact was labeled: 162 Sugar Daddy.
Ignoring Leng Yao’s laughter, Bai Chacha adopted a practiced, coquettish tone. “Sugar Daddy, I’ve run out of my allowance again. Could you transfer me some more? This dress is so pretty—I’ll wear it for you tonight! It’s not even that expensive, just 250,000 yuan.”
A garbled electronic noise came from the other end of the line.
“He said, ‘Bullshit! Twenty-five thousand for some trashy clothes? You’re a damn fool. You can rent a college girl for ten thousand, don’t push your luck, you son of a bitch!'”
Lin Tingxue, noticing the little rabbit’s curious expression, volunteered to share what she had overheard. Cultivators are truly powerful, she thought. They can hear things from this far away.
But watching Lin Tingxue, with her icy voice, repeat such vulgar language, Leng Yao clutched her chest. Sister, you’re just too adorably contradictory!
After the exchange proved fruitless, Bai Chacha, unwilling to lose face, retorted, “I haven’t even tried it on yet! What if I don’t like it? I need to wear it to know.”
“Madam Bai, you can try it on here,” the saleswoman said politely, leading Bai Chacha to the fitting room.
Leng Yao waited a long time without seeing Bai Chacha emerge. She deliberately raised her voice, “What’s taking so long in the fitting room? It’s not like they’re weaving the wool from scratch on the prairie, right? Or is it just so unflattering that you’re hiding inside, too embarrassed to face your sister?”
Bai Chacha, who had been taking selfies in the mirror, scowled. Damn brat! I was trying to get a few good shots for my social media.
Now that she’d been called out, Bai Chacha had no choice but to emerge.
The effect, however, paled in comparison to Lin Tingxue’s. Bai Chacha was undeniably attractive, the kind of woman men typically found appealing. Yet she lacked Lin Tingxue’s figure and her aloof, refined aura.
The pants that fit Lin Tingxue perfectly dragged on the floor when worn by Bai Chacha. The waist, which had been just right on Lin Tingxue, now squeezed tightly around Bai Chacha’s waist, creating an unflattering bulge of flesh.
Leng Yao leaned close to Lin Tingxue’s ear and whispered, “Sister, she’s just trying to imitate you, but she’s only embarrassing herself.”
“What does ‘imitating you’ mean?” Lin Tingxue asked. The Cultivation World had no such idioms or historical references. She never hesitated to ask questions, regardless of others’ opinions.
Bai Chacha, overhearing the exchange, took it as a pointed insult. “This outfit is hideous,” she spat. “It’s better suited for these country bumpkins. It’s beneath me.”
She stormed back into the dressing room to change.
“Nothing, nothing,” Leng Yao said, barely suppressing her laughter. Lin Tingxue’s words were few, but each one struck Bai Chacha’s sore spots with precision.
Knowing Lin Tingxue hadn’t liked the previous outfit, Leng Yao reluctantly chose another for her. “This one’s easier to wear. Why don’t you try it on?”
When Lin Tingxue emerged again, everyone realized it wasn’t the clothes that made the person, but the person who made the clothes. Every garment she wore was displayed to its fullest potential, as if she were the designer’s muse.
“Buy, buy, buy! Sis, are you sure you don’t want to try anything else? I want to buy the whole store for you!”
“Impractical. No. Five of this dress is enough.”
This response perfectly matched Lin Tingxue’s character. Back in the Cultivation World, she had also prepared five sets of the same training robes.
Bai Chacha, who had been taking photos in the dressing room, emerged later. When she saw Lin Tingxue, a flicker of jealousy flashed in her eyes.
“Anyone would think we’re buying groceries at the market. This is a high-end boutique—one piece per store is more than enough.”
The saleswoman chimed in, “It’s no problem, ma’am. If you’d like, we can arrange for items from other branches to be shipped to you. The total cost is 300,000 yuan. We still recommend trying different styles for variety.”
“No need.”
“Sis, wait for me! I’ll get my card.”
Hearing Lin Tingxue’s reply, Leng Yao lowered her head and rummaged through her Star Kirby card wallet.
Bai Chacha sneered, “I knew those country bumpkins were just pretending to be rich. What business do they have in a high-end boutique if they can’t afford it?”
“Found it,” Leng Yao said, pulling out a gold card before quickly retracting it. “Oops, wrong one.”
A black card landed on the counter. Leng Yao smiled sweetly. “Sales assistant, check me out.”
