The Cold CEO Chases His White Moonlight - Chapter 16
“I already have someone I like.” Ji Zhiwei took a step back.
She couldn’t figure out what Jing Tian was trying to do, nor did she know when this person’s so-called “liking” had even started.
All Ji Zhiwei felt was disgust.
After causing her so much trouble, now claiming to like her, this kind of “liking” made her sick to her stomach, and the person herself was just as repulsive.
“I know… I just don’t want to have any regrets. And also, I’m sorry!”
Jing Tian stubbornly tried to shove the letter into Ji Zhiwei’s hand.
It didn’t matter if the chocolates were rejected as long as Ji Zhiwei read this letter, they could probably reconcile.
The nausea in her stomach grew even worse.
Covering her mouth, Ji Zhiwei didn’t spare Jing Tian another glance and ran past her.
Jing Tian stood there holding her letter, drawing curious stares from passersby, her expression more than just a little awkward.
In the end, nothing came up.
Ji Zhiwei left the restroom and leaned against the wall to steady herself for a moment before pulling out her phone. There was activity in the dorm group chat.
[Fang Xianqing: Did that person come looking for you again? @Ji Zhiwei]
[Cheng Lanxin: I saw the photos. What the hell? A confession? Is she serious???]
[Cheng Lanxin: Does she have no shame??? I don’t get it, going on about liking you, so why did she bully you? Even elementary school kids don’t act like this!]
[Cheng Lanxin: Are you okay, Weiwei? Where are you? We’ll come get you. Next time, let us know when class ends so she can’t ambush you.]
Fang Xianqing had also tagged Ji Zhiwei.
[I’m fine, heading back to the dorm now.] Ji Zhiwei exhaled slowly.
In the past, when someone confessed to her, Ji Zhiwei would at most politely decline, she wouldn’t just run away.
But today, seeing Jing Tian like this, her emotions were in turmoil, and she couldn’t help but flee.
Being confessed to by someone she despised felt absolutely awful.
As Ji Zhiwei walked back to the dorm, Fang Xianqing sent her a private message.
[Fang Xianqing: Has that Meng Yu not contacted you in a while?]
If Fang Xianqing hadn’t mentioned it, Ji Zhiwei wouldn’t have noticed.
Now that she thought about it, it really had been a long time since she’d last spoken to Meng Yu.
She opened her chat history with Meng Yu, the last time they’d exchanged messages was the day the “sugar baby” scandal broke.
After that, Ji Zhiwei had been swamped with her own issues, and Meng Yu hadn’t reached out either.
[Ji Zhiwei: Yeah, why?]
[Fang Xianqing: No reason, just asking. That person isn’t worth getting close to, she doesn’t treat anyone as a real friend.]
So that was it. Ji Zhiwei replied with a thanks and put her phone away.
She hadn’t even remembered this “friend” until now. Maybe she and Meng Yu weren’t so different after all.
Time passed quickly. In the blink of an eye, the year was coming to an end.
Two months had gone by, and Gu Yunhui hadn’t seen her.
Ji Zhiwei checked the time and opened her chat with Gu Yunhui, staring at the unanswered messages with a bitter taste in her heart.
For two whole months of her heat cycles, Gu Yunhui hadn’t needed her.
Whenever Ji Zhiwei asked, Gu Yunhui would just say she was busy and that suppressants were enough.
Ji Zhiwei lay on the bed in the small villa, touching her scent gland.
She, too, had relied on suppressants for the past two months.
Perhaps from spending so much time with Gu Yunhui, she’d been influenced Zhiwei’s rut cycles had become unusually frequent.
Most alphas only experienced a rut once every six months or even a year, but hers came every month.
Almost perfectly synced with Gu Yunhui’s cycles.
After being marked so many times, it seemed her alpha scent gland had grown accustomed to it.
Every month without that pine smoke scent left Ji Zhiwei feeling unbearably lonely.
She didn’t yearn for just any omega or beta, she only wanted Gu Yunhui.
Just this one person.
Ji Zhiwei pulled the blanket over her head, but even then, she couldn’t catch a whiff of that familiar fragrance.
The sheets had been washed too often, leaving only the faint trace of shower gel.
She couldn’t bear it, yet she didn’t dare disturb Gu Yunhui too much.
Sitting up, Ji Zhiwei groped her way to what should have been her side of the bed and fished out a bag from the corner.
It was the kind of toy Gu Yunhui had allowed her to keep in the villa last time.
Just looking at it made her face flush.
Her fingers slipped, and the small boat-shaped toy tumbled back into the bag. But after barely two steps, she surrendered to her own desires.
Gu Yunhui didn’t want her, and she couldn’t bring herself to seek out anyone else so self-sufficiency was only logical.
In her twenties, having a high libido was perfectly normal.
Ji Zhiwei justified it to herself, then carried the toy into the bathroom.
Around the same time, Gu Yunhui, her expression as cold as ever, entered the villa, locked the door, and headed upstairs, a tube of suppressants in hand.
Her mind was still preoccupied with project plans until she spotted a pair of slippers by the bedroom door.
It took Gu Yunhui a moment to process what that meant before she pushed the door open.
There seemed to be someone inside. Finally, reality dawned on her.
The bed was messy, a few familiar toys stood on the nightstand, and a slightly worn bag lay on the floor.
The blanket was bunched up into a lump, clearly hiding someone beneath it.
Gu Yunhui stared at the movement, her breath hitching.
Only she and Ji Zhiwei had keys to this house, the answer was obvious.
The familiar scent of gardenia drifted into her nose, mingling with muffled sounds intermittent whimpers and the occasional hum of vibration. Gu Yunhui’s mind went blank.
She realized she and Ji Zhiwei had thought of the same thing both intending to spend this special period, which should have been spent apart, in this very house.
Almost mechanically, Gu Yunhui closed the bedroom door behind her.
The figure under the blanket seemed startled, freezing in place.
Gu Yunhui walked over and pulled the covers back.
“You!” The sight before her was far too stimulating not because of the act itself, but because it was Ji Zhiwei doing it.
It was Ji Zhiwei wearing that expression, reacting like this.
Maybe it was only because it was Ji Zhiwei that the situation became so electrifying.
Ji Zhiwei’s mind short-circuited.
What was she doing? Who had just seen her?
Instinct moved faster than thought, she snatched the blanket back from Gu Yunhui, wrapping herself tightly in it.
But it couldn’t mask the alpha’s distinct pheromones or the persistent buzzing that hadn’t been turned off in time.
Gu Yunhui’s grip on the suppressants faltered, and they clattered to the floor.
Now there was no way she could use them.
She took a few deep breaths, trying to steady herself, to no avail.
All she inhaled was more of the alpha’s scent, her head spinning.
The heat she had suppressed for two days or perhaps two months erupted in full force.
“Zhiwei…” Gu Yunhui exhaled, her restraint snapping. She could no longer weigh pros and cons.
She removed her glasses, tossing them aside, then wrapped her arms around the blanket-wrapped figure.
Freed from inhibition, her words grew bold. “Do you want to?”
Perhaps because she was an omega who rarely lost control during her heat, Gu Yunhui still retained some semblance of reason.
Otherwise, why would she even bother asking?
The moment she saw Ji Zhiwei earlier, she had wanted to pounce on her like a wild beast and devour her completely.
Ji Zhiwei swallowed hard.
She, too, was flustered by the omega’s pheromones, which were even more intense than usual during her heat.
At this point, no matter what Gu Yunhui asked, she would agree.
So, the blanket was lifted just a tiny corner, and Gu Yunhui slipped inside.
A pair of gold-rimmed glasses lay on the floor, reflecting the conspicuous bulge in the otherwise quiet space.
A long-awaited embrace, a long-missed intimacy.
Gu Yunhui missed this warmth even more than Ji Zhiwei did.
Her retreat and restraint turned to ashes the moment she touched Ji Zhiwei, leaving only an insatiable void of desire.
Just one simple round was enough to bring tears to Ji Zhiwei’s eyes.
Her hands trembled uncontrollably as she clutched the pillow today, Gu Yunhui was more passionate than ever.
Ji Zhiwei was no different. Her control over her pheromones was nearly nonexistent.
But even the alpha’s typically aggressive pheromones couldn’t suppress the omega’s; they were utterly overwhelmed. The gardenia scent became subordinate to the pine smoke, merging into one, becoming her everything.
Tonight, Gu Yunhui was far too dominant.
In the past, she would have teased Ji Zhiwei, bargained with her, or playfully bullied her a little.
But now, Gu Yunhui didn’t say much, she just kept moving.
Her hands were ruthless, her mouth even more so.
Whether it was pinching, biting, or the unspeakable, it all felt like a scorching wave, fiery with a hint of spice, driving Ji Zhiwei to tears.
Yet Ji Zhiwei refused to ask her to stop. Biting the pillow and gripping it tightly, she couldn’t help but let out soft sounds.
When emotions peaked, Gu Yunhui’s teeth closed around Ji Zhiwei’s scent gland.
Even the mark left today was deeper than before.
Just a little more, and Gu Yunhui would have bitten through the alpha’s fragile gland.
Just a little more. If Ji Zhiwei had been an omega, she would have belonged to Gu Yunhui forever.
But before crossing that line, the sweetness of gardenia flooded Gu Yunhui’s senses, and the taste of iron filled her mouth, forcing her to stop.
By the time Gu Yunhui regained some semblance of reason, Ji Zhiwei was still trembling all over.
Gu Yunhui stroked her head and let out a slow breath.
It had only been two months, yet Gu Yunhui felt the girl had changed again.
She had grown even more alluring, more beautiful, and more intoxicating.
Lying there like a lamb caught in a trap, Gu Yunhui could almost taste her freshness.
“Yun… sister…” As the aftershocks faded, Ji Zhiwei finally stopped trembling and nuzzled affectionately against Gu Yunhui’s hand.
Gu Yunhui instinctively pulled back, but the moment she met Ji Zhiwei’s gaze, she pressed close again.
“I still want… I brought a few things.” It had been too long.
It wasn’t just the physical pleasure, the emotional fulfillment was so overwhelming that Ji Zhiwei didn’t want to stop.
“Can you handle it?” Gu Yunhui had seen the items.
“Never mind. Even if you can’t, you’ll endure it for me.”
With such a plea, how could Gu Yunhui hold back?
From dusk until late into the night, they moved from one spot to another.
Falling off the bed, surely that would be the end?
But Ji Zhiwei, still in tears, reached out for a hug, and with that embrace, their pheromones clashed once more.
Moving to the floor-to-ceiling window surely that would be the end?
But Gu Yunhui deliberately turned off the lights, opened the window, and nearly pressed Ji Zhiwei against the glass.
Ji Zhiwei couldn’t even walk and was carried into the bathroom by Gu Yunhui. At this point, it was obvious things wouldn’t stop.
By the time it ended, the sky had already begun to lighten with a silvery hue.
The room was in complete disarray, so the two had no choice but to move to the side bedroom to sleep.
Three hours later, Gu Yunhui opened her eyes, checked the time, and winced as her hand still clutching her phone ached with a cramp-like pain.
Just what had they done last night…
Rubbing her temples, Gu Yunhui felt physically drained for the first time.
Oh, right she must have overdone it with the pheromones.
Her lips curled unconsciously as she gazed at the slumbering girl beside her.
But then her expression cooled again.
What was she doing? Hadn’t she resolved to keep her distance from Ji Zhiwei for a while?
Well, she had managed it for the past two months, no meetings, no messages.
But then yesterday… one careless moment had led to an uncontrollable blaze.
It was only now that Gu Yunhui realized Ji Zhiwei’s rut cycle had also shifted to once a month, almost syncing up with her own heat.
She never should have come here, indulging in that fleeting pleasure.
Gu Yunhui wanted to leave, but her body ached, her head throbbed, she couldn’t even move.
Resigned, she forced herself to spend five minutes sending a brief message to her secretary.
By noon, the two finally woke up properly.
Ji Zhiwei’s entire body was wracked with pain.
She hadn’t felt like this in years not since her first time with Gu Yunhui, four years ago.
“I’m going to work. You remember to ask for leave from school.” Gu Yunhui didn’t dare stay any longer.
Faintly, she could still catch the sweet scent of gardenias lingering in the air.
“Yun-jie, I can’t get up, I can’t move.” Ji Zhiwei was on the verge of tears.
She really was stuck in bed. Was she going to spend the whole day like this?
Eyes glistening, Ji Zhiwei looked pleadingly at Gu Yunhui.
“Could you stay with me?”
