Because of repeated harassment in the past, Bo Jingshi was forced into becoming homophobic. He has a forceful personality, is indifferent to others, and absolutely detests “dainty” or “spoiled” people.
His new junior roommate, Yu Lan, is a famous beauty from the Art Academy. He is delicate, clingy, and the ultimate “type” in the gay community. Most of all, he is terrified of people who are mean to him.
They are exactly the type of people who should hate each other.
They got off on the wrong foot the very first day they met. Bo Jingshi mistakenly thought Yu Lan was gay and avoided him like the plague. If they so much as brushed against each other, Bo Jingshi had a violent reaction; in the elevator, he would stand as far away as possible, as if Yu Lan were a virus.
While Yu Lan felt wronged, he told him: “I really don’t like men.”
Once the misunderstanding was cleared, Bo Jingshi spent a long time “coaxing” Yu Lan to make up for it. He began bringing Yu Lan food, moving his things, collecting his laundry, and waking him up in the morning. They became best friends who ate together, partied together, held hands, and even slept in the same bed.
Everyone thought Bo Jingshi had already been “bent” (turned gay) and was pursuing Yu Lan. Even Bo Jingshi himself had to admit he was becoming obsessed. He wanted to be clung to; he wanted Yu Lan to cling only to him and no one else.
He was certain he was gay.
Yu Lan, however, always believed they were simply best friends and thought they were both as straight as could be. It wasn’t until Bo Jingshi pinned him in a corner to confess that he realized Bo Jingshi had turned long ago and had been secretly coveting him for a very long time.
Looking at the terrified, dazed Yu Lan in his arms, Bo Jingshi—who was usually cold to everyone—softened his expression and coaxed him gently: “You thought I was just ‘comforting’ you all this time? I was courting you.”
