The Cannon Fodder Was Pampered By The Tyrant - Chapter 9
Maybe wearing a ring would look quite beautiful.
Inside the hall, the palace maids lowered their heads as they cleared the dinner plates. Lin Yutian rubbed her stomach and sat lazily in her chair. Licking her lips, she looked at Si Yan and whispered, “…Thank you.”
Si Yan was leaning over, writing something with a brush. Upon hearing this, she naturally pushed her luck. “Are you just saying it?”
Lin Yutian’s cheeks flushed a deep crimson, but having just eaten her fill, she couldn’t find the resolve to question her confidently. “Then how do you want me to thank you?”
“Let’s get this settled in advance.”
Lin Yutian tried to widen her apricot eyes. “There can’t be any physical contact.”
She spoke fiercely, but if Si Yan truly wanted to do something, Lin Yutian was helpless against her; with one press of the hands, Si Yan could do whatever she pleased.
But Si Yan was in no rush, they had plenty of time.
“Can’t your mind think of anything else?”
Si Yan placed the open ledger in front of Lin Yutian. “I know you’ve developed a taste for my beauty, but I am not someone who hooks so easily just because you beckon with a finger.”
Lin Yutian’s understanding of the thickness of Si Yan’s skin was refreshed once again.
Then who was the person who just pinned me to the bed?
“You…”
“Take a look.”
Si Yan tilted her chin, signaling for Lin Yutian to read the book.
Lin Yutian looked down at the ledger with a face full of suspicion, but her expression soon turned to blank confusion.
The last time she had felt this lost was when she was facing the final problem of the college entrance exam math paper.
The similarity was striking: Lin Yutian couldn’t understand a single character.
Si Yan watched her expression. “See it clearly?”
Lin Yutian bit the bullet and said, “I see it.”
“Since you see it clearly, how does Miss Lin plan to pay it back?” Si Yan asked, resting her cheek in her hand.
Lin Yutian had no idea what Si Yan was talking about. After a long silence, she managed to squeeze out, “I see it clearly, but… I don’t understand it.”
She thought Si Yan would take the opportunity to mock her, but to her surprise, Si Yan remained composed as if she had expected it. “Little illiterate.”
Lin Yutian: “……”
If I dropped you in the modern world, let’s see if you could understand modern characters.
“It’s nothing major. This is just the amount of silver you owe me,” Si Yan said with a smile. “Until you pay it off, I won’t let you have your way.”
As soon as Lin Yutian heard this, she knew Si Yan was settling old scores. “Then I won’t be able to pay it back in this lifetime.”
“I don’t do losing business,” Si Yan countered. “On this page, there is not only the amount of your debt but also the methods for repayment.”
“Do you want to know what those methods are?”
Lin Yutian nodded subconsciously.
When she finally heard what Si Yan was proposing, she couldn’t help but cover Si Yan’s mouth. “Impossible!”
Si Yan’s eyes carried a heavy pressure when she wasn’t smiling, but at this moment, they curved into a soft, supple arc.
She reached up and grabbed Lin Yutian’s wrist. “I’ll give you time to consider.”
“It’s just that my time is very precious,” Si Yan said to her cheerfully. “Don’t keep me waiting too long.”
While Si Yan went to bathe, Lin Yutian’s heart was still thumping wildly.
What did Si Yan mean? Why would she make such a request?
Lin Yutian was certain that Si Yan had likely become “distorted” because she had been repressed for too long. Otherwise, why wouldn’t she even let a common assassin like her go?
Intimate contact was out of the question, and even if she did agree to it, her debt was so large she could never finish paying it.
The current situation had completely veered away from Lin Yutian’s expectations. She couldn’t just sit and wait for death anymore.
She had to do something proactive like exhausting Si Yan’s patience.
A perfect plan suddenly formed in Lin Yutian’s mind.
She didn’t know how to make someone like her. But she knew exactly how to make someone hate her.
After all, her experiences in her original family had made her a “veteran” of conflict, she just needed to do everything her younger brother used to do.
When Si Yan finished her bath, her hair draped down to her waist, the ends still damp. As soon as she pushed open the door, she noticed the change in the room’s decor.
Various porcelains were lying scattered on the floor, flower pots were overturned, and the books that had been neatly preserved on the shelves were now in a chaotic mess.
And the culprit…
Lin Yutian was standing to the side, holding a piece of cloth she had torn from somewhere. Her cheeks were flushed, it seemed she had worked very hard just now.
The moment Si Yan entered the room, Lin Yutian tightened her grip on the cloth. She watched Si Yan’s profile which was so calm that no emotion could be detected and her heart raced.
She couldn’t gauge Si Yan’s mood.
At the same time, she noticed the guard standing at the door had his eyes widened slightly, seemingly shocked by Lin Yutian’s “masterpiece.”
However, Si Yan, the protagonist of this mess, was the most emotionally stable one.
She first dismissed the guard and then gently closed the door. The room became so quiet that Lin Yutian could only hear her own heartbeat.
“I knew you wouldn’t be honest,” Si Yan glanced at her. “Are your hands that itchy?”
Lin Yutian was familiar with this scene. Before her parents used to explode, they would ask that exact question.
She replied rebelliously, “Since you locked me in this room, you should have expected a day like this.”
Si Yan turned around and walked toward her step by step, forcing Lin Yutian to retreat.
“Did you think I had no way to handle you?”
“It seems that before I teach you how to please me, I should also make you remember a lesson.”
As Si Yan spoke, she untied the black cord of her robe. Her snow white, slender body was faintly revealed in the dim light.
Lin Yutian quickly turned her head away, not daring to look at Si Yan.
What is the situation? Is she going to strangle me with a cord?
“Do you remember how many things you messed up?” Si Yan asked softly.
Lin Yutian naturally remembered. She hadn’t actually damaged anything, she had just made it look visually chaotic.
The next second, Lin Yutian’s vision fell into darkness.
Si Yan had tied the cloth over her eyes. The cold scent of orchids began to invade her senses.
“The silk ribbon cannot be pulled off,” Si Yan patted her cheek. “Clean it up yourself.”
Lin Yutian was stubborn. “I won’t.”
Si Yan wasn’t surprised by the answer. Instead, she offered a “kind” reminder: “Fine.”
“I’ll give you the time it takes for three sticks of incense to burn. If you can’t restore everything, then…”
Her finger pressed against a certain part of Lin Yutian. “…it would be very beautiful to put a ring here.”
A chill ran down Lin Yutian’s spine. She hadn’t expected Si Yan to use this kind of method to punish her.
Si Yan let go. “Start now.”
“If you really can’t do it, you can also come and beg me.”
Lin Yutian groaned inwardly but maintained a facade of bravado. “I won’t beg you.”
Si Yan wasn’t annoyed. “That’s for the best.”
Lin Yutian was originally confident, but while making a mess was easy, organizing was difficult especially while blindfolded.
She fumbled around chaotically. After working for a long time, she hadn’t even finished organizing the bookshelf.
“Two sticks of incense left.”
“One stick of incense.”
“The last half-stick…”
Lin Yutian became more and more anxious, nearly moved to tears. She didn’t want to wear that kind of thing.
She shouldn’t have treated Si Yan like this tonight.
But why?
Shouldn’t a mistake like this be met with violent punishment? Why did Si Yan not do that, even though she didn’t have to worry about laws or regulations?
“It’s over.”
Suddenly, Lin Yutian’s lower back bumped into a soft “wall.” Si Yan’s voice came from beside her ear.
Lin Yutian’s heart sank. A warm sensation came from the hand she was using to fumble around. Si Yan had placed her palm over hers.
“Will you do it yourself, or shall I?” Si Yan asked softly.
Lin Yutian’s lips were pale and her fingertips were cold. She couldn’t make a choice. She didn’t know if she would die, but it would definitely hurt to death.
“Or, you could beg me,” Si Yan offered another option. “I might let you off the hook.”
“I beg you,” Lin Yutian blurted out in a panic. “I beg you, Si Yan.”
The girl’s voice carried a hint of dread due to fear, but it was a rare moment of softness. It was different from the deliberate disguises of the past.
But Si Yan was relentless. “How should one beg?”
Lin Yutian was stunned. She had been strong-willed since childhood and had never begged anyone, she didn’t know how.
She thought for a moment, then pressed her palms together and bowed toward Si Yan, saying softly, “I beg of you, please.”
“……”
Seeing her like this, Si Yan was stunned for a moment, then couldn’t help but laugh.
Lin Yutian felt a bit helpless, wondering if she had done something wrong.
“Very good,” Si Yan’s phoenix eyes rippled with laughter. “But I still have to give you a small punishment.”
Before Lin Yutian could figure out what the method would be, her first instinct was a slap.
Instead of pain on her cheek, she felt a softness on her lips.
Si Yan had actually kissed her.
Lin Yutian was stiff all over. This was the first time she was conscious during a kiss, and the feeling was incredibly strange.
“No… mmph.”
As soon as Lin Yutian opened her mouth, Si Yan naturally delved inside, entangling with her.
Si Yan was a “bad” person, but her lips and tongue were very soft.
Lin Yutian was naturally a germaphobe and thought it would be disgusting, but perhaps because Si Yan’s mouth carried a fresh tea fragrance or because her body scent was so pleasant. Lin Yutian surprisingly felt no discomfort.
Sensing her lack of adaptation, Si Yan reached out and stroked her waist while continuing the kiss.
Lin Yutian tried to resist at first, but she was afraid that Si Yan would really make her wear that ring later.
When the kiss ended, Lin Yutian’s lips were red and her breathing was ragged.
Just as Si Yan was about to tell her to go to sleep, she heard Lin Yutian ask in a trembling voice, “If I kiss you, can you extend the time by another stick of incense?”
“I will finish organizing,” Lin Yutian’s voice was very soft, her mouth still holding the tea fragrance Si Yan had passed to her. “Please don’t make me wear that, okay?”
Si Yan’s eyes darkened. She thought that was fine too.
If she made her work late tonight, she probably wouldn’t cause trouble tomorrow.
So she said huskily, “Alright.”
Only then did Lin Yutian feel relieved.
The opportunity for a third choice made her abandon her unnecessary reserve.
Lin Yutian hesitated for a moment, then looked up again and asked, “Then… if there isn’t enough time later, can I add more time like we just did?”
