The Cannon Fodder Ex-Wife Changes to Take the Black Moonlight Script - Chapter 25.2
He said, “When I saw her, she could freely come and go from Tianhao Garden, and her mental state seemed fine didn’t look like she was in any trouble.”
“What if she’s being coerced?”
“Wei Yixian didn’t have anyone following her. When I spoke to her, there was no one else around. If she were in trouble, she could’ve told me.”
Only then did Xiao Luomeng relax.
Her master was a seasoned cop, he wouldn’t fail to recognize Shang Shiqian’s true situation.
“Besides, isn’t there a rich kid in our team? According to the latest Dongcheng elite gossip he shared, Wei Yixian keeps a Caged Canary, hidden away from public view. See? It matches. She’s just Wei Yixian’s lover, so he’s keeping her hidden and not telling you her real name.” Sun Wei speculated, “She must’ve had plastic surgery to look like Shang Shiqian.”
Xiao Luomeng, however, found this hard to believe: “Wei Yixian had his lover undergo surgery to resemble his late wife? Is that possible?”
“Why not? Making someone look exactly like Shang Shiqian isn’t something done overnight. Over eight years, only Wei Yixian would have the resources for that.”
“If you said the Shang family, longing for their daughter, had someone altered to look like her, I might believe it. But you’re saying Wei Yixian did this, I don’t buy it.”
“Believe what you want. Alright, I need to get back to work.” Sun Wei advised her, “This has nothing to do with us, or with you. Don’t let curiosity kill the cat.”
Xiao Luomeng hesitated but eventually nodded.

That evening, when Wei Yixian returned and saw the lights off in Shang Shiyu’s room, he asked Pu Feifei, “Has Shang Shiyu gone to bed?”
Pu Feifei replied, “I suppose without her phone, Miss Shang went to bed half an hour ago.”
Wei Yixian stared at her, his gaze profound: “She’s not the type to hint at wanting something.”
“That’s just my guess, Director Wei.”
Wei Yixian could tell, Pu Feifei was pleading on Shang Shiqian’s behalf.
After just a few days together, she could already make the life secretary who had worked for her for years switch sides… This person’s charm was as overwhelming as ever.
Wei Yixian expressionlessly took out her phone: “Since she’s asleep, I’ll give it to her tomorrow morning.”
Pu Feifei hadn’t expected that her unnecessary action wouldn’t draw criticism from CEO Wei, but instead received a positive response?!
It seemed Miss Shang’s status in CEO Wei’s heart was beginning to change.
Pu Feifei smiled and said, “By the way, CEO Wei, Miss Shang also asked me to persuade you not to drink tonight.”
Wei Yixian glanced at her: “Nosy.”
With that, she went upstairs to shower and rest.
The next day.
After finishing breakfast, Wei Yixian saw Shang Shiqian still wearing her home pajamas and couldn’t help urging her: “We’re going out soon, hurry up and change.”
Shang Shiqian looked at her blankly for half a second before saying, “Ah, you were waiting for me? Today is the opening ceremony of the Weijia League, I’m staying home to watch it on TV, not going out.”
As if suddenly remembering something, she sighed and changed the subject: “Someone reported the chess and card parlor on East City University’s Civilization Street, and it’s been shut down for rectification. The East City University Go Club also has an event today and will be using the Go Room. I can’t find anywhere to play.”
Wei Yixian: …
With a calm expression, she said, “Didn’t the new Go set arrive? Play by yourself.”
Shang Shiqian thought to herself: So I couldn’t trick out the truth about the parlor being shut down. It seems this really has nothing to do with Wei Yixian.
“Fine…” Shang Shiqian studied Wei Yixian curiously, “Didn’t you say your days off aren’t for just anyone? Are you meeting someone important?”
Wei Yixian looked down at her: “Want to know?”
Shang Shiqian smiled: “I know your rules, I won’t pry casually. Go ahead, bye-bye.”
She turned to her system: [Little Black System, is Wei Yixian going to meet her white moonlight?]
System: […]
Wei Yixian: …
She also wanted to hear if the system knew her plans, so she pretended to change shoes and sat silently by the entrance observing.
After a long pause, the system said mechanically: [The system cannot predict the female lead’s movements.]
The system was still in its energy-saving mode. Shang Shiqian was greatly disappointed: [You’re dismissed.]
Wei Yixian suppressed a smile as she left.

At 9:30 AM, the East City Art Academy graduation exhibition officially opened.
Invited representatives from various fields arrived one after another, making the art academy bustling with activity, and the parking lot was soon filled with private cars.
Shang Shidai had completed her undergraduate studies at East City Art Academy. As a painter of considerable fame both in East City and nationally, the academy invited her almost every year as an alumni representative to attend the undergraduate graduation exhibition.
This year was no exception.
Inside the art museum, in the simply arranged temporary venue.
Shang Shidai, with her big wavy hair and dressed in a black leather jacket and skirt that gave off a wild vibe, was about to take her seat when she suddenly spotted a figure who seemed highly unlikely to be there.
Changing direction, she boldly sat down right next to that person.
Wei Yixian glanced at her, then lowered her head to continue reading the brochure from the art academy.
Shang Shidai asked bluntly, “Hey, didn’t you say you declined the academy’s invitation? Why are you here?”
Wei Yixian replied, “That’s my business.”
Shang Shidai was left speechless by the retort and could only let out a cold laugh. She crossed her arms and crossed her legs, adopting a haughty posture that clearly showed she had no intention of engaging with Wei Yixian.
However, even though Wei Yixian had quietly taken a seat in the corner, many people still spotted her in the crowd and came over to greet her.
Assistant Xie Mei stepped in to handle most of the social interactions on Wei Yixian’s behalf, but there were still a few individuals whose status even Wei Yixian couldn’t ignore, forcing her to set aside the booklet in her hands and stand up to converse with them.
Shang Shidai watched coldly for a while and noticed that under such constant interruptions, Wei Yixian hadn’t even managed to flip a single page of her booklet.
She suddenly felt a surge of irritation and said, “The opening ceremony is about to begin.”
Most of the guests invited to the exhibition were aware of who would be attending the opening ceremony, and Shang Shidai’s identity was no secret in their circles.
Thus, although her words left everyone feeling somewhat embarrassed, they all tacitly returned to their seats.
Wei Yixian sat back down expressionlessly and picked up the booklet again.
Shang Shidai was just about to mock her for not understanding art when Wei Yixian spoke first: “Thank you.”
Shang Shidai looked disgusted. “Don’t make me sick.”
Normally, Wei Yixian would have already turned cold at this point, but now she seemed utterly unfazed by the harsh words!?
Shang Shidai felt an inexplicable chill run down her spine.
Wei Yixian suddenly looked at her. “Artists like you always have such fantastical ideas. So, have you ever thought that the dead can actually be brought back to life?”
Shang Shidai inexplicably thought of Shang Shiqian, her heart aching with bitterness. Unable to hold back, she snapped at Wei Yixian, “You’re insane! You’re just trying to disgust me today.”
Fuming, she stood up to leave, but Xie Mei happened to approach Wei Yixian at that moment.
The two collided head-on, and Xie Mei’s pen accidentally snagged Shang Shidai’s hair. In the tussle, several strands were pulled out.
“Ow, are you blind?!” Shang Shidai yelled at Xie Mei, drawing the attention of half the room.
“My apologies, Fifth Miss Shang,” Xie Mei hurriedly said.
Shang Shidai glared fiercely at her and Wei Yixian before storming off.
Wei Yixian watched her leave and gave Xie Mei a meaningful look.
Xie Mei immediately coiled the strands of hair around the pen, tucked them into a specimen bag, and hurried out of the gallery.
Shang Si: The renovation of Wenming Street wasn’t actually Wei Yixian’s doing. I misjudged her with my petty mind. I’ll reflect on that.
CEO Wei: ( ̄︶ ̄)
System: Today’s host is still so pure.
