The Bride of The Mysterious Ghost King - Chapter 3
I’m already drunk. Is this ghost insane? Thinking of the coldness of his hand, and that heart in his chest that doesn’t beat, I dare to confirm this guy is definitely a ghost!
“Unleash what seal? I’d rather choose to wipe the corpses.”
As soon as I finished speaking, I saw his eyes, deep and bottomless, like the icy water of a thousand-year-old cold pool. He pinched my chin, “I’m giving you a chance to choose again.”
Hearing his cold voice, with a commanding tone that brooked no refusal, I quickly and sensibly chuckled, “Unleash the seal, unleash the seal, this is easy to talk about. But I won’t be your wife.”
“That’s not up to you. I’m not asking for your consent, but directly informing you. After the seal is unlocked, we will be husband and wife.”
I gritted my teeth, and the suppressed anger and grievance finally erupted. I shouted at him, “I don’t want a ghost husband!”
He looked exasperated, grabbing my arm and pulling it to his chest, nose to nose with me. “If you don’t want to, I won’t force you. But after the seal is unlocked, something terrible will happen.”
Cold sweat poured out of me. I didn’t doubt his seriousness for a moment. His bones were gripping my hand painfully, and I had no doubt he would hurt me at any time.
Perhaps it was stubbornness at work; I bit my lip and glared at him, “I don’t want to! I just don’t want to!”
The time was dead silent for a few seconds. This guy didn’t get angry; instead, he laughed, walked over to the second cold storage cabinet, and rubbed his chin. “Are you sure?”
“Yes!” I yelled at him.
He shrugged, “Alright then. Since you choose to wipe corpses, I won’t make things difficult for you.”
As soon as this guy’s words fell, I heard a sound from inside the second cold storage cabinet.
At this moment, the light began to swing eerily without any breeze. I watched the light shake violently, and a bad premonition suddenly arose in my heart.
The sound grew louder and louder, emitting a grating, screeching noise. It sounded like something scratching metal. My teeth began to chatter, and I instinctively curled up in the corner.
“W-what are you trying to do?” My body started to tremble. I stared intently at the second cold storage cabinet, terrified that some corpse would climb out of it.
This guy shrugged, acting like, “You made your choice, so deal with it.”
Bastard! Jerk! How dare he seize the opportunity to take revenge on this maiden!
Just as I finished cursing him in my heart, I heard the lock on the second cold storage cabinet shake violently, accompanied by the intense swaying of the fluorescent light on the ceiling, forming a harmonious and bizarre rhythm.
The cold storage cabinet was like a transparent person was unlocking it! Then I heard the sound of the door being pulled open, followed immediately by two thudding sounds.
I was practically about to kneel, but my stubbornness wouldn’t allow me to compromise. How could I sacrifice myself, or even dedicate my whole life to a strange ghost, just to get out of here? At worst, I’d just wipe all the corpses.
But the movement inside the cabinet was getting bigger and bigger. I stared intently. Just as I was about to be scared out of my wits, the cold storage cabinet suddenly slid open with a whoosh?
My eyes seemed unable to move. I looked sharply into the cabinet, and a rotting corpse was tilting its head, staring at me with a pair of dead fish eyes.
“Ah!” I was so scared I fell onto the floor. But even in such a terrifying state, I maintained a sliver of rationality and suddenly felt that something was wrong.
The female corpse that had been cut in half on the autopsy table was now, somehow, lying in the second cold storage cabinet?
I looked to the autopsy table in shock. What the heck! A male corpse was lying there now?
My inner world was completely overturned, about to collapse.
Before my adrenaline soared and I was scared into a myocardial infarction, I needed to get out of here quickly. I shouted loudly, the hollow sound echoing in the enormous mortuary, accelerating my heartbeat.
