Synopsis
Trigger warnings: Dog-blood drama, multiple romantic interests, amateur writing, written as a personal hobby, go at your own pace, open ending, extra “what if” chapters.
Yu Li was the long-lost daughter of a wealthy family—a fact she only discovered after she was given away as a gift.
The smiling, cunning family head who turned her life upside down simply smiled, acting hot and cold towards her. “Happy Birthday, Yu Li.”
The cold-blooded assassin smiled wildly, but only at her. “Be my girlfriend.”
The gloomy painter pushed her against the wall of his dark studio, his voice hoarse. “Are you eighteen yet?”
Her scrawny, unloved desk mate from the elite family leaned close and half-jokingly whispered, “I think I like you a little.”
Even her childhood friend offered a sincere heart. “Xiao Li, I’ll take you away from here, okay?”
Faced with their sudden advances, she was at a loss. Even her rejections became ambiguous tugs of war. And so, barefoot, she was dragged into the dance of desire, a puppet dancing along with them.
Later, Yu Li finally understood. It was all a lie.
The family head only saw her as a profitable asset. The assassin and her desk mate were playing a game. The painter’s interest was a fleeting whim. Even her childhood friend… the one who swore to offer her heart to her, abandoned her.
What could she do? She was a gift from a family head to someone else, held up high only to be dropped. The fall left her blind.
She had no choice but to place one lock after another on her broken heart, making it impossible for anyone to open.
When they finally realized they had fallen in love and frantically tried to find her, Yu Li sat quietly in her usual spot. She simply lifted her eyelids and glanced over, remaining utterly indifferent.
“I’m sorry, I don’t remember your voice.”
