- The Beloved Guide Was Forced in a Love-Rival Shura Field
- Chapter 1 - This Damn Allure Aura Won’t Turn Off!
The moment his consciousness returned, the violent tearing sensation nearly swallowed Ning Ning whole.
His throat churned like a stormy sea, golden sparks danced before his eyes, and he instinctively cried out in his mind:
“89… I feel awful.”
A gentle electronic voice immediately sounded:
【Ning Ning, don’t be afraid. It’s just post-teleportation side effects. You’ll be fine soon. We’ve arrived in the new world.】
System 89’s calm tone was like a spring that doused the panic in Ning Ning’s heart.
He blinked hard until his vision finally cleared.
He was sunk into an overly soft velvet sofa, his fingertips brushing against fabric that was cool and smooth. From above, a crystal chandelier scattered fragmented light, while the air carried a clean, sharp cedar fragrance with an undeniable sense of pressure.
【This is a world where Sentinels and Guides coexist. Your new identity is the youngest son of the Ning family—Ning Ning.】
The drawing-room door was quietly pushed open.
A middle-aged man in a crisp butler’s uniform entered, his stern expression melting the instant his eyes landed on the boy curled on the sofa.
“Young master, why are you here all alone?” The butler’s tone slowed to a gentle murmur, softer than a whisper. “Is the heating on? The floor is cold—don’t come down barefoot.”
He hurried forward, crouching carefully in front of Ning Ning as though handling a fragile treasure.
“Would you like something to drink? Hot milk? Fresh orange juice? The kitchen just made your favorite strawberry mousse—do you want a taste?”
Ning Ning stared blankly, overwhelmed by the flood of doting enthusiasm.
Wasn’t this a little… exaggerated?
He stiffly turned his head, silently screaming in his mind:
“89, what’s going on?”
【Detected: Host’s spirit beast ‘Moon Rabbit’ has activated its trait ‘Divine Charm.’】 System 89 sounded almost gleeful. 【Host, this trait hadn’t been triggered before, but the teleportation awakened it! It causes Sentinels and Guides around you to develop an irresistible urge to protect and claim you!】
Ning Ning froze. “Wait—irresistible? And it can’t be turned off?”
【Correct. Simply put, Ning Ning, you are now a walking, permanent mass-obsession aura.】
“…Help! Why don’t you take this damn blessing instead?!” Ning Ning nearly fainted on the spot.
Before he could recover from this blow, the heavy wooden door opened again.
A middle-aged man of commanding presence strode in, followed by a tall, sharp-aura young man.
“Ning Ning, come, let Dad introduce you.” The Ning family head, Ning Zhenhai, smiled dotingly and gestured to the man behind him. “This is the Empire’s Marshal—Xiao Lin.”
Ning Ning looked toward the figure, and his heart skipped a beat.
That man’s presence was overwhelming.
Dressed in a crisp black military uniform with coldly gleaming epaulettes, his broad shoulders and long legs were accentuated. His buzz-cut hair framed a sharply defined face—strong jaw, bold brows, and piercing eyes.
He didn’t need to move. Just standing there radiated suffocating pressure.
At the same moment Ning Ning looked, Xiao Lin’s gaze locked onto him.
In an instant, every sound in Xiao Lin’s world was violently stripped away.
Ning Zhenhai’s voice, the cedar scent in the air, even the eternal growl of the dark-gold giant wolf within his spirit sea—all vanished.
A fragrance he had never known before filled his senses—sweet and pure, sweeping through every taut nerve.
It crushed everything else, igniting a primal hunger deep in his bones.
Heat roared from his ears down to his throat.
His Adam’s apple bobbed, his throat constricted, and even breathing became painful. His hand curled into a fist, nails biting into his palm.
All thought was gone. There was only that boy on the sofa.
Silver hair, soft and tousled, framed a face small enough to fit in a palm. And those violet eyes—pure, luminous, innocent.
Meeting that predatory gaze, Ning Ning’s lashes trembled uncontrollably.
That look—feral, as if a beast had found its prey—was filled with naked, frenzied possessiveness.
“What the hell?!” Ning Ning panicked, shrieking in his mind.
“89, help me! He looks like he wants to eat me alive! Isn’t this supposed to trigger protectiveness? This is devouring intent!”
【Alert! Alert!】 System 89 was even more alarmed.
【Detected: Target’s mental threshold spiking, emotional excitation… off the charts! Ning Ning, your aura is affecting an S-class top Sentinel too strongly—it may have triggered his bonding heat!】
“What do you mean, bonding heat?!”
【In plain words: he’s chosen you, and now he wants to mark you!】
Ning Ning’s head spun. He tore his gaze away, cheeks flushing crimson.
Ning Zhenhai, oblivious, noticed Xiao Lin’s silence and staring. He assumed it was because Ning Ning was too adorable, and he beamed proudly.
“Marshal Xiao, look at our Ning Ning. Isn’t he lovely? Don’t mind that he’s only a B-class Guide—he’s the sweetest child.”
The words dragged Xiao Lin back a shred.
Jaw tight, eyes still fixed on the boy’s flushed ears, he ground out a hoarse reply:
“…Mm.”
The sound was thick with strained restraint.
Then—
“Clatter—”
The secretary behind Xiao Lin dropped his tactical tablet onto the marble floor.
He froze, eyes glued to Ning Ning, shock and panic written all over his face.
He had followed the Marshal for years, his mind tempered like steel. But one glance at that boy and his brain short-circuited.
What was this?
The silver-haired youth sat quietly, violet eyes like crystal pools that seemed to cleanse the world. An indescribable urge detonated in his chest—an instinct to shield this fragile being from all harm, even from his own superior.
“Ah, Secretary Lin, how careless!” Ning Zhenhai chuckled, full of pride. “Our Ning Ning has this effect—everyone’s dazed at first sight.”
The secretary flushed, scrambling to pick up his device. His normally deft fingers fumbled twice before success.
But then he felt it—a gaze like icy knives.
Xiao Lin’s.
Warning.
The secretary stiffened, clutching the tablet tight, bowing awkwardly.
“My apologies, Mr. Ning. I lost composure.”
Xiao Lin frowned ever so slightly.
He hated anyone looking at Ning Ning that way. Even once.
Ning Ning shrank further into the sofa, clutching his clothes in distress.
“【89… even the secretary fell for it?】”
【Correct. His protectiveness readings spiked to the normal limit—textbook response.】
89 sounded almost relieved. 【Compared to the Marshal, he’s positively wholesome.】
Ning Ning nearly cried. If this was “normal,” then what was the Marshal’s reaction supposed to be—monster-level?!
Ning Zhenhai finally coughed, revealing his true intent.
“Marshal Xiao, you know Ning Ning’s health has always been delicate, and his temperament soft. I invited you today mainly to… see if your spirit beasts are compatible.”
…A blind date?
Ning Ning’s violet eyes flew wide. He turned to his father with a sweet, aggrieved voice:
“Daddy, why didn’t you tell me beforehand…”
【Help! I just wanted to be a cannon-fodder villain and clock out early—why am I stuck doing overtime blind dates?!】
“Foolish child, Dad just wanted to surprise you.” Ning Zhenhai patted his hand, then to Xiao Lin: “Well? Would you like to try?”
Xiao Lin’s gaze never left the boy’s flustered face. His voice rumbled low:
“…Yes.”
Ning Ning could only resign himself, closing his eyes.
Behind him, a soft silver glow appeared, condensing into a tiny creature—a snow-white rabbit with long twitching ears and curious violet eyes.
The moment the Moon Rabbit manifested, the sweet scent in the air grew richer.
Ning Zhenhai’s smile widened—then froze as Xiao Lin suddenly convulsed.
A tidal wave of spiritual power exploded from him, suffocating and wild, like fire and smoke filling the room.
Both Ning Zhenhai and the secretary choked for breath.
Behind Xiao Lin, a colossal shadow formed.
A giant wolf, fur of dark gold, eyes glowing eerie green. Its gaze swept the room like a predator weighing prey, chilling the secretary’s blood.
Ning Zhenhai faltered—wasn’t this spirit beast a little too savage?!
“【89…】” Ning Ning whispered, “【His wolf looks like it wants to eat my bunny.】”
【Data indicates—wait, look!】 System 89’s voice cracked.
The giant wolf’s feral eyes landed on the tiny Moon Rabbit—and instantly, all killing intent vanished.
Those glowing pupils melted into something scorching, almost reverent.
The beast moved.
With heavy steps, it approached the sofa.
Under the others’ stunned stares, it lowered its massive head slowly, with a gravity that felt ceremonial.
Its muzzle brushed softly against the rabbit’s fur—gentle, almost worshipful.
The rabbit flinched and edged closer to Ning Ning.
At once, the wolf froze, even retreating a step, releasing a low, soothing whine.
Then it lay down entirely, curling protectively around the sofa, creating a fortress that encircled the fragile rabbit.
Not a predator—an absolute guardian.
The drawing-room was dead silent.
Ning Zhenhai gaped at the submissive wolf, then at his son, his mind blank.
The secretary clutched his tablet, questioning his entire worldview. The Marshal’s ferocious beast… acting like a dog wagging its tail at a bunny? He had to be hallucinating.
Xiao Lin’s breathing unraveled completely.
Seeing his spirit beast debase itself ignited something darker within him—a consuming obsession.
His.
This boy was his.
Xiao Lin strode forward, each step heavy with possession.
Ning Zhenhai instinctively tried to block him, but one glance into those fevered black eyes froze him in place.
Xiao Lin stopped before Ning Ning, his looming figure casting a domineering shadow.
He leaned down, trembling fingers brushing Ning Ning’s flushed cheek.
His voice was husky, resolute, undeniable.
“…Mine.”
