The Aloof Film Queen Gets Entangled by a Sweet Little Omega - Chapter 7
Sister, are you asleep? I miss you.
After finishing her skincare routine, Ming Qing sat at the desk and looked toward Shi Rui’s wide-open door. “Bunny, it’s a day off tomorrow. Are you going to ask Sister out to play?”
At those words, Shi Rui’s heart skipped a beat. She grabbed her phone almost instantly.
Right! Why hadn’t she thought of that?
Her chat history with Sister was still stuck on that last “Bye-bye.” Sister had said she was going to be busy, so Shi Rui sent a goodbye emoji, and there had been silence ever since.
She scrambled out of bed, her hair a messy bird’s nest, and patted her chest while mumbling to herself. Then, she looked up at Qingqing. “How should I ask her?”
“You seriously don’t know?” Ming Qing was shocked. She walked over to the doorway, patting her face mask into place. “The way you two are, shouldn’t she come running the moment you beckon with your finger?”
Ming Qing trusted her gut. Luo Xiao was definitely interested in Little Bunny; otherwise, she wouldn’t have done all those things.
Given Luo Xiao’s aloof personality, getting her to lift a finger was an achievement in itself—let alone her traveling all this way to watch a military drill. Only a “silly rabbit” like Shi Rui wouldn’t feel the vibes.
Shi Rui scratched her head and sat obediently in her chair. “I don’t know… I’ve never asked anyone out before.”
Hearing this, Ming Qing felt a wave of exasperation. She felt like her face mask was drying up from pure frustration. She reached out and poked the bunny’s head. “Are you silly? Sister has practically delivered herself to your doorstep. If you just send a random message asking if she wants to hang out tomorrow, she’ll say yes. She came all this way for your drill, then specifically dodged the crowds and changed her clothes just to see you and eat with you. Setting aside her status as an actress, she’s still a normal Alpha. This is a blatant pursuit! However…”
Ming Qing suddenly paused.
“However what?” Shi Rui asked anxiously, shaking Ming Qing’s hand with a pitiful, wide-eyed look.
Ming Qing squinted with satisfaction and smiled. “Rumor has it that Sister is ‘frigid.’ The fact that she’s chasing someone is actually quite out of character for her. Her acting cold these past two days is actually more ‘on brand.’ That’s why you have to take the initiative now, Bunny. Ask her out, pester her, be clingy. Wear her down until she has no choice but to be with you. Understand?”
Hearing this “terrifying” advice, Shi Rui’s ears twitched with excitement, but then slowly drooped again. She asked hesitantly, “Frigid?”
“Yeah,” Ming Qing nodded curiously. “Didn’t you know? She’s had zero scandals since her debut. Papparazzi tried to dig up her dating history from before she was famous, and it was a total blank. Everyone says she’s frigid, and she’s never denied it, so it’s likely true.”
Shi Rui took a deep breath, carefully recalling her few interactions with Sister.
She really couldn’t tell.
“If she’s frigid, do I even have a chance?” She looked like she was about to cry, clutching her phone like a lifeline as she looked up at Ming Qing.
Ming Qing sighed. She really wanted to pinch those rabbit ears but held back. “You didn’t listen to a word I said, did you? What are those four ears for? I said you have to pester her! Pester her!”
Saying this, Ming Qing went to grab her tablet. She stood before Shi Rui like a teacher, pointing at a picture of a Blue Dragon on the screen. “Question: What is Sister?”
Shi Rui was suddenly hit with a flashback to her high school days. She straightened her back instinctively and answered obediently, “A Blue Dragon.”
“Good.” Ming Qing swiped the screen to an image of a dragon coiled around a pillar. “As we all know, what do dragons love to do most?”
Shi Rui stared at the picture and answered uncertainly, “Coil around pillars?”
Ming Qing nodded. “Not quite accurate. Let’s use a different word—entwine.”
“Now, what is the key takeaway here?!”
Ming Qing tapped the screen like a stern teacher. “Student Bunny, pay attention. The key point is—”
She drew out the tone and wrote a massive character on the screen: “ENTWINE.”
“Exactly. Today’s focus is ‘entwining.’ Dragons love to wrap themselves around pillars—any pillar will do. The point is the wrapping. So, you have to learn how to entwine her. Wrap yourself around her tightly, got it?”
The attentive little bunny didn’t understand a single word. She shook her head. “Teacher Ming, how did we get from dragons on pillars to me entwining her?”
“Dummy!” Ming Qing snapped quietly. She leaned over and started tapping on Shi Rui’s phone. “Come on. Type exactly what I say.”
Shi Rui grew worried. Her ears stood up alertly. “Qingqing, what are you doing?”
She couldn’t let her good image in Sister’s heart be ruined.
Ming Qing didn’t bother explaining. She nudged her. “Hurry up. Your personal strategist is giving you a tutorial.”
She opened the chat between Shi Rui and Luo Xiao and tapped the screen. “Type this: ‘Good evening, Sister. Are you asleep yet? I want to treat you to a late-night snack and return your clothes to you.'”
Shi Rui couldn’t keep up with the speed, so she condensed it into her own understanding. While typing, she asked doubtfully, “Qingqing, it’s so late and the school cafeteria is closed. Where would we eat?”
Besides, her old biology textbooks said that unmarried Alphas and Omegas aren’t encouraged to go out late at night.
Ming Qing was too exhausted to explain. She just pushed her to send it. “If she rejects you, then you can invite her to breakfast tomorrow. If she doesn’t, then you get to see her. When she reaches the dorm building, run down in a hurry and pretend you ‘forgot’ to bring the clothes. You can’t return the clothes easily—they are the bait on the hook.”
The more Shi Rui listened, the more wrong it felt. She shook her head vigorously. “I’d rather not.”
It felt like “fishing” for someone… and it didn’t feel right. Mostly, she hadn’t learned how to do it yet and was afraid she’d mess up the bait and look ridiculous.
He Qianqian, who was sitting across from them, finally spoke up. “Qingqing, don’t lead Little Bunny astray.”
“How is this leading her astray? I’m helping her seize her happiness!”
Ming Qing wanted to say more, but Shi Rui was already mumbling to herself, trying to delete the text in the chat box.
Ming Qing tried to stop her, but her hand accidentally bumped into Shi Rui’s. Instead of deleting the text, Shi Rui’s finger slipped, and the remaining few words were sent out with a whoosh.
[Sister, are you asleep? I miss you.]
Shi Rui stared at the sentence for a long time before letting out a piercing scream. “Ahhh! Where is my ‘please’? Where did the word ‘please’ go?!”
It was supposed to be: [Sister, are you sleeping? I want to please treat you to a late-night snack…]
How did it turn into this?
Ming Qing leaned over to take a look, then burst out laughing, slapping Shi Rui on the shoulder. “Good job, Bunny! Well done!”
Hearing the commotion, Rong An and He Qianqian couldn’t help but run over. Shi Rui clutched her phone, her face a mask of tearless grief as she panicked. “Recall! I need to recall it now!”
Ming Qing didn’t want her to recall it and reached out to block her, only for them all to watch a reply pop up from the other side.
In an instant, four small heads huddled together as if they were observing a rare national treasure. Luo Xiao had replied:
[I’m downstairs at your dormitory.]
Ming Qing laughed and slapped her shoulder again. “This is a great chance, Bunny! A great chance!”
Shi Rui’s face turned bright red. She quietly tucked her phone into her pajama pocket. Rong An looked at her with a worried expression and asked, “Bunny, are you really going?”
She was a bit concerned. Even though the other person was a famous actress, she was still an Alpha. Going out this late felt unsafe. He Qianqian nodded in agreement.
Seeing this, Ming Qing propped her chin on her hand and pondered. “That makes sense. Let me think.”
She looked determined to find a way for Shi Rui to have the best of both worlds, but she didn’t realize that Shi Rui had already made up her mind. Shi Rui grabbed the bag from the table and dashed out the door like the wind.
“I’m just going to drop off the clothes. Just for a second!”
To prove her resolve, she didn’t even change out of her pajamas, signaling that she would only stand at the dorm entrance for a couple of sentences, hand over the item, and come right back.
After Shi Rui left, Rong An and He Qianqian immediately stood before Ming Qing with their arms crossed, scrutinizing her. Outnumbered, Ming Qing quickly raised her hands in surrender. “What are you guys doing?”
“Stop egging Bunny on regarding Luo Xiao. The gap between them is too big; I’m worried Bunny will get hurt,” Rong An spoke first. Beside her, He Qianqian nodded vigorously in agreement.
Ming Qing could only sigh and begin to reflect. “True. I guess I got a little too excited and didn’t consider all that. I’ll definitely be more careful next time.”
Only then did Rong An nod, saying like a stern little adult, “Maybe it really is just a coincidence. Maybe Luo Xiao doesn’t have any other intentions at all. You shouldn’t try to play matchmaker randomly.”
Ming Qing thought about that possibility. If it were true, she felt it would be a bit of a pity, but there was nothing she could do. She sighed and said, “Alright. Maybe I’m just too obsessed with shipping couples. When I see them like this, I subconsciously project onto them. I won’t do it again.”
Rong An smiled and nodded, looking satisfied.
On the other side, Shi Rui hurried downstairs with the bag. Just as she was about to step out of the dormitory entrance, she heard the dormitory auntie’s concerned voice behind her: “The doors close in fifteen minutes, student! Don’t run off too far!”
“I know, Auntie! I’m just at the gate giving something to a friend!”
Shi Rui finished speaking and ran out. She thought Luo Xiao would be waiting at the main entrance where she had dropped her off yesterday, but as she rounded the corner, she saw a misty-green car parked right beneath her dormitory building.
The person in the car saw her, opened the door, and stepped out.
Today, Luo Xiao was wearing a black long dress with a denim jacket. Her long, straight black hair had a single streak of dark green dyed underneath. Against the night, her cool, pale skin and exquisite makeup made her look incredibly noble and beautiful. The “sheltered” little bunny was instantly dazed, clutching the bag and staring.
However, there was a Beta with a wolf-cut hairstyle standing next to her, looking like they were on good terms with Sister. Shi Rui couldn’t hide her expression in time—she looked a little unhappy.
