The Aloof Film Queen Gets Entangled by a Sweet Little Omega - Chapter 12
You Have to Seduce Her
In the evening, Shi Rui accompanied Ming Qing to get eyelash extensions outside the school. Afterward, they decided to stroll through the night market.
The two young girls shuttled through the crowds, having a great time. They bought a pile of snacks until Ming Qing’s arms were nearly full, yet she still stopped when they passed a roasted chestnut stall.
Shi Rui bought a bag, peeled one, and turned to feed it directly into Ming Qing’s mouth, asking with a grin, “Is it tasty?”
Ming Qing nodded, the chestnut sweet and mellow. She praised it extravagantly: “It tastes best because you fed it to me.”
“Then I’ll peel a few more for you.” Shi Rui was generous, feeding her friend “manically” as they continued to eat and shop.
As they left the night market, the roadside traffic grew heavier. Ming Qing glanced at Shi Rui, who was focused on peeling chestnuts, and immediately nudged her to the inner side of the sidewalk, walking on the outside herself to protect her.
In a nearby corner, shrouded almost entirely in darkness, Luo Xiao stood with a pale face, watching the pair from a distance with a cold gaze.
Beside her, Qi Ran slowly exhaled a puff of smoke, the haze adding a touch of softness to the intimidating night. She chuckled lightly and advised, “Following her like this isn’t a long-term solution. You’re bound to be recognized by fans sooner or later. Besides, you have filming to do; staying up like this isn’t sustainable.”
Luo Xiao pursed her bloodless lips. Her black gloves clung tightly to her skin as she muttered helplessly, “I have to watch her, to protect her.”
“Stop being foolish. You can’t dote on a child too much; you have to let go so she can learn to grow.”
At these words, Luo Xiao’s expression changed drastically. Her hands clenched into fists as she retorted defiantly, “I only let go that one time—and look what happened?”
The result was a thousand-year wait. Now, she would not let go no matter what.
Seeing her like this, Qi Ran knew Luo Xiao’s mind was clouded by the suffering of her rut (susceptible period), so she didn’t argue. Lighting another cigarette, she said calmly, “You don’t want tragedy to strike again, do you?”
“What did you say?”
Luo Xiao snapped back to reality instantly. Her eyes began to bloodshot, and her soft hair started to rise slightly like a thousand venomous stings. Dragon scales began to appear on both sides of her neck.
“Say that again?”
As she spoke, wisps of cyan pheromones broke through her gloves and drifted upward.
Luo Xiao stared intensely. “Don’t let me hear those words a second time.”
No one was allowed to curse her “Little Rabbit” to death.
Watching Luo Xiao crumble and then force herself back into a state of formidable strength, Qi Ran sighed imperceptibly. She had always known Luo Xiao was waiting for her “wife” to grow up, but she hadn’t known until recently that the wife was the little boss of the Shi family.
Once she found out, she investigated privately, which was why she spoke those words today.
“Luo Xiao, rein in that morbid overprotectiveness. She has lived very well for these eighteen years. You should let go and let her grow.”
Luo Xiao understood this logic better than anyone. For the past eighteen years, she had done well, watching the Little Rabbit from afar and never approaching.
But all of that was shattered that day on the school bus. She had originally only intended to ride the bus once around the campus where her Little Rabbit would live for the next four years. She hadn’t expected to run into her unreachable lover so coincidentally.
Luo Xiao lowered her gaze. The streetlights cast a glow on her profile, her eyes shimmering with faint light.
The rut robbed her of self-control, and the agony of being unable to approach her wife devoured her sanity like ten thousand ants—not fatal in an instant, but excruciatingly difficult to endure.
Not far away, Shi Rui put on a stern face and scared off an Alpha who wanted her WeChat. Seeing this, Qi Ran gave Luo Xiao a look and whispered, “She’s quite capable now.”
Luo Xiao watched the small figure hopping along the roadside, exactly as she had always been. She remembered many things. An Alpha in their rut is always fragile; she leaned against the wall as if losing all strength and murmured softly, “I know.”
She would keep her distance.
It rained for two days before National Day, and the temperature dropped suddenly.
Shi Rui had rummaged through her wardrobe to find a thin knit sweater. However, when she woke up at noon on October 1st, she was greeted by dazzling sunlight through the window before she could even fully open her eyes.
“Gosh, the sun is so bright!”
“Hmm? Is it clear out? Let’s go out and play then,” Ming Qing said, poking her head out.
“Where to?” The other two joined in.
Shi Rui yawned, not paying attention to them. Standing at the door, she began sending messages:
[Good morning, Sister. I’m up. Are you filming today?] [Sister, the sun is so big today.] [Sister, are you awake yet?] Be a Good Bunny.jpg
After sending a flurry of messages, she tucked her phone into her pocket with satisfaction and wobbled off to wash up.
Ming Qing followed, shouting, “Little Rabbit, what about you? Are you coming?”
Shi Rui, with her toothbrush in her mouth, widened her eyes in curiosity and mumbled, “You guys already decided?”
Ming Qing nodded and exaggerated, “Yeah! While you were messaging your ‘Sister,’ we planned out the entire route.”
Hearing this, Shi Rui fell into deep self-doubt: Did I really message Sister for that long?
Rong An couldn’t take it anymore and stepped in to explain, “She’s teasing you. We haven’t moved that fast. We’re just asking if there’s anywhere you want to go.”
“Let me see.” Shi Rui pulled out her phone while brushing her teeth.
But while she claimed to be looking for tourist attractions, she actually swiped right back into WeChat. Seeing a red notification dot among her pinned chats, she realized it was a message from her mother.
Mother Chu had sent a voice note asking if she was coming home for the holiday. She typed a reply with one hand, saying she wouldn’t be back and was going out with her roommates.
Once she exited the chat with her mom, Luo Xiao’s window had dropped to second place.
After a moment’s thought, Shi Rui clicked in and asked: [Sister, if you have time today, can you go out with me? The weather is so nice.]
“Xiao Rui, have you finished looking? Where do you want to go?” He Qianqian came over to wash up and asked casually.
Shi Rui looked confused. “Huh? Look at what?”
Ming Qing laughed and pointed at her, “telling on her” to Rong An: “See that? This is a classic case of ‘love brain.’ Take note.”
Then, she turned to Shi Rui: “Aren’t you afraid she’ll find you annoying if you send so many messages?”
Shi Rui’s ears perked up defensively. She retorted loudly, though lacking confidence, “No way! I’m strictly following what you told me to do.”
“What I told you?” Ming Qing was baffled. When did she ever teach such low-level tactics?
Shi Rui quickly prompted her: “It’s exactly what you said—I have to pester her. I’m working hard on it right now!”
Ming Qing laughed in exasperation. “If this is how you ‘pester’ people, don’t tell anyone I was the one who taught you when we go out.”
Hearing this, Shi Rui wilted instantly. She didn’t even bother drying her freshly washed face; she walked over and hugged Ming Qing, rubbing her damp face against Ming Qing’s pajamas. “Qingqing, then what should I do? Please teach me again,” she pleaded in a soft, sweet voice.
Ming Qing narrowed her eyes in enjoyment again, the corners of her mouth curling up smugly. “Right here, right now, open your phone and pick a tourist attraction with great scenery.”
Shi Rui didn’t understand why, but her best trait was her obedience. She immediately opened her “Little Red Book” app and started searching furiously.
To her surprise, the algorithm knew her so well; the very first recommendation was right here in S City.
It was a scenic mountain called Mount Chiqing. The maple leaves there were red as fire, making it a popular spot for photos. At night, many people camped on the summit or had riverside barbecues. Most importantly, the legend surrounding that mountain was quite extraordinary.
Supposedly, a long, long time ago, a green dragon resided at the summit. It lay quietly beneath a massive maple tree for hundreds of years, never moving an inch.
In autumn, falling maple leaves would cover its body. In spring, it would poke its head out with hope, like a sprout breaking through the soil, only to continue waiting for the first maple leaf of the next season to fall.
Through winters and summers, cycle after cycle, no one knew exactly how many years had passed or why it stayed there.
As Shi Rui read through the messy rumors and analyses online, she felt a sudden, inexplicable sensation: this legendary dragon might be the very same “wifeless dragon” they had been searching for so desperately.
Ming Qing leaned over to take a look and teased mercilessly, “How many times have you searched for this online? The Big Data push is incredibly precise.”
“Don’t talk nonsense,” Shi Rui retorted softly. “It would know even if I didn’t search for it.”
Last time, she had merely thought about buying a hat with holes in the top so her ears could breathe, and as soon as she opened a shopping app, “rabbit-ear hats” appeared in the search bar. It had never happened before—wasn’t that eerie?
Ming Qing stopped teasing and began the “Masterclass.”
“Have you decided? This is the place?”
Shi Rui clutched her phone and nodded. She felt a mysterious yearning for this place, as if she should go see it. And so, the choice was made.
Ming Qing cleared her throat, took Shi Rui’s phone away, and said, “Now, go find your prettiest, sexiest outfit and put it on.”
“Why?” Shi Rui’s big eyes were full of confusion. Ming Qing didn’t explain, only urged her: “Go, the prettiest and sexiest one.”
Rong An and He Qianqian also crowded around. “What are you doing?”
Shi Rui hesitated for a moment but followed instructions. Her wardrobe was full of little dresses, but most were brightly colored and cute; she couldn’t find anything “sexy.”
Seeing this, Ming Qing didn’t force it. She helped pick out a short, strapless dress with an intricate, vintage pattern and shoved it into the Little Rabbit’s arms.
“Go change.”
“Oh.”
Shi Rui obeyed. After changing and coming out, she asked quite perceptively, “Should I put on some makeup?”
“No need.”
Ming Qing took Shi Rui’s phone and snapped a photo of her. She didn’t include the face, only the area from the neck down.
The shot looked like it was showcasing the dress, but in reality, the vast “white space” of the photo focused on her smooth, beautiful shoulders and neck. There were two neat little moles on her left collarbone. Ming Qing opened her makeup bag, dabbed some highlighter on the collarbone, then drew the curtains to create a dark environment and took another photo.
“What is this for, Qingqing?” Shi Rui felt it was all very strange.
Ming Qing finished the photos and handed the phone back, speaking with a profound, mysterious air: “Don’t worry about it. Just send these to Sister. Say… you’re planning to go camping at Mount Chiqing with the Alphas from the Lion Class next door, and ask if this outfit is appropriate.”
“Eh?” Three faces looked at her simultaneously, all blank and innocent.
Feeling the pressure of their collective cluelessness, Ming Qing sighed and rubbed her forehead. “Just send it first. I’ll teach you the rest after she replies.”
“What does this mean?” Rong An and He Qianqian were still in a fog. “How does a single photo fix things?”
Hearing this, Ming Qing leaned one hand on Rong An, arched an eyebrow, and smiled playfully. “Want to know? Then be my wife, and I’ll tell you all about it.”
As she spoke, she started fiddling with Rong An’s soft ears. Rong An huffed and mercilessly retracted her ears.
With a heart full of trepidation, Shi Rui dubiously sent the two photos, followed by the text Ming Qing had just dictated.
Feeling nervous, she pressed the phone against her chest. She expected to wait a while—lately, Sister had been slow to reply, sometimes taking from morning until evening to get back to her.
Buzz, buzz.
The thought had barely crossed her mind when the phone vibrated twice.
[Come downstairs.]
