- Chapter 31.1 - Going Crazy Over Sweet Moments!!
After resting for another night, Meng Xue felt much better by the next morning.
When Tang Jing got up, she found that breakfast was already prepared. Hearing the movement, Meng Xue turned around with a smile and greeted, “Good morning, Teacher Tang.”
“Feeling better?” Tang Jing studied her carefully, she did seem in good spirits.
“Yes.” Meng Xue tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and smiled. “Thank you for taking care of me yesterday, Teacher Tang. I’m much better now.”
The two sat at the dining table, enjoying breakfast while chatting about who the new guest arriving that day might be.
Tang Jing shook her head. “No idea.”
Meng Xue was even more clueless. Having just returned to the country, she was familiar with established celebrities but paid little attention to rising stars and popular idols.
Mostly because she had been focused on training and never had time to keep up with such things.
Tang Jing said, “According to the notice, they’ll arrive soon. We’ll find out then.”
Meng Xue nodded.
After finishing breakfast and cleaning up, a staff member informed them that the new guest had arrived.
Luo Dong and the other two had already gone ahead, leaving Tang Jing and Meng Xue as the last to reach the village entrance.
Just as they arrived, a car approached from the distance and soon pulled up in front of them.
Tian Qi craned her neck curiously, silently praying that the newcomer wouldn’t be another troublemaker or at least, not worse than Sun Sijia.
She genuinely wanted to focus on filming the show, not suffer through unnecessary drama.
Soon, the person inside stepped out.
At the sight of a somewhat unfamiliar face, Luo Dong and the others exchanged glances, wondering if this was a non-celebrity guest. But if so, she was stunning, no less striking than any celebrity.
“Sister Meng!” The moment the female guest spotted Meng Xue, she rushed over excitedly and hugged her.
Luo Dong and the others were even more bewildered.
Tian Qi suddenly realized who it was and exclaimed, “Ah! You’re Qiao Meng!”
Anyone who had followed the MS1 girl group in H-country would recognize her, she was Meng Xue’s former teammate.
“Xiao Meng!” Meng Xue was equally surprised to see Qiao Meng as the new guest. She smiled and asked, “When did you return to the country?”
“Last week.” Qiao Meng, who had been feeling uneasy earlier, instantly relaxed upon seeing Sister Meng.
After all, in their group, Meng Xue wasn’t just the leader she was also like an older sister who always took care of them.
Meng Xue introduced her to Luo Dong and the others. When it came to Tang Jing, she smiled shyly and said, “This is Teacher Tang Jing.”
Qiao Meng grinned meaningfully. “I know. You’ve liked Teacher Tang for five whole years!”
Meng Xue’s worst fear had come true. Flustered, she covered Qiao Meng’s mouth while awkwardly explaining to Tang Jing, “Teacher Tang, it’s your work that I admire.”
Then, realizing how that sounded, she quickly corrected, “No, no, I admire you too.”
The more she tried to explain, the messier it got. For the first time in years, the usually composed Meng Xue was completely flustered.
Qiao Meng burst into laughter, prying Meng Xue’s hand away. “That’s right! Our Sister Meng likes everything about you!”
The moment she said this, Luo Dong and the others laughed, and even the show’s director and crew couldn’t hold back their amusement.
At first, the director had been worried that the new guest might not be well-received by the audience, but now it seemed those concerns were unfounded.
Even the other guests liked her, so the next month would be smooth sailing.
Tian Qi grabbed Qiao Meng’s hand enthusiastically and said, “Qiao Meng, you can share a room with me!”
“What do you mean?” Qiao Meng, unfamiliar with the show’s rules, looked at Sister Meng in confusion.
After Meng Xue explained it to her, Qiao Meng nodded in understanding and said, “Then I’ll room with Tian Qi.”
She knew full well how much the team leader adored Teacher Tang, so she naturally wouldn’t intrude on their alone time.
[Hahahaha, the new guest is so adorable!]
[So Meng Xue has liked Teacher Tang for five years?]
[Is this a god-tier wingwoman?]
[This is the first time I’ve seen Meng Xue look so flustered!]
[It’s just too cute Qiao Meng, please keep up the aggressive support!]
[Yes, I just want to see Teacher Tang and Meng Xue get close!]
Though Qiao Meng was outgoing, she wasn’t familiar with everyone yet, and after being abroad for five years, she couldn’t help but feel a little awkward, unsure of what to talk about.
But Tian Qi solved all those problems. Sensing her discomfort, Tian Qi simply said, “Come on, I’ll show you around the village.”
“Sure!” Qiao Meng replied, hastily waving goodbye to Sister Meng and the others before following Tian Qi.
Watching them leave, Luo Dong chuckled and said, “Now Tian Qi won’t be alone anymore.”
A seemingly simple remark, but it directly referenced Sun Sijia.
Though Tian Qi and Sun Sijia had shared a house, they’d barely interacted over the past month, and when they did, it usually ended in arguments.
Luo Dong and Jian Anping had already witnessed this in the previous two seasons, so by now, they were used to the dynamic between Tian Qi and Sun Sijia.
After welcoming the new guest, Tang Jing and the others had to start their tasks for the day.
After saying goodbye to Luo Dong and the rest, Tang Jing and Meng Xue headed off in another direction.
Meng Xue stole several glances at Teacher Tang along the way, her mind replaying Qiao Meng’s earlier words. The more she thought about it, the more embarrassed she felt.
She never expected Qiao Meng to blurt that out, it was downright mortifying.
“What are you thinking about?” Ahead, there was a small puddle. Tang Jing had been watching her steps, expecting her to avoid it, but instead, Meng Xue walked straight toward it. Startled, Tang Jing quickly grabbed her arm.
“Huh?” Meng Xue was still dazed until she noticed the puddle at her feet. She gasped, heat rushing to her face as she quickly sidestepped it and kept walking. “Nothing.”
Her expression made it obvious she was lying, but Tang Jing didn’t call her out.
Truth be told, Tang Jing was also a little dazed.
Though she knew the Meng Xue who had liked her for five years was the Meng Xue of this world, the thought that it was actually her senior inside Meng Xue’s body made her heart race uncontrollably.
If not for the system’s restrictions, she would’ve pulled Meng Xue into her arms without hesitation.
“Teacher Tang, Teacher Meng, over here!” Tian Qi’s voice called from a distance, waving at them with Qiao Meng by her side.
Tang Jing and Meng Xue walked over and saw that it was the “Challenge Course.” They exchanged surprised glances at the two.
Over the past month, Tian Qi had attempted this challenge several times but never succeeded.
Tian Qi grinned and said, “Qiao Meng, let Teacher Tang teach you, she’s amazing at this.”
Qiao Meng glanced at Tang Jing, then at Sister Meng.
Thinking of this, Meng Xue recalled something amusing. “Right now, clearing this stage gives 200 points, but originally, it was 400 points.”
Tian Qi also remembered and said with a laugh, “Yeah, yeah, it was because of Teacher Tang that the director changed the points on the spot.”
The director: “…” He hadn’t expected to be roasted again a month later.
Qiao Meng found this absolutely fascinating. “Why was it changed?”
“Tell me, does this stage look easy or hard?” Tian Qi teased, deliberately holding back the answer.
Qiao Meng studied it and nodded. Though she hadn’t tried it yet, it did seem pretty challenging.
Tian Qi started warming up. “Watch, I’ll show you how it’s done.”
“Oh, okay.” Qiao Meng hadn’t expected Tian Qi to jump right into the challenge.
After warming up, Tian Qi pressed the start button, took a running start, leaped and cleared the first few obstacles.
But by the third stage, she failed.
Qiao Meng gasped and rushed over anxiously. “Tian Qi, are you okay?”
Tian Qi waved her off, climbing out of the sand and shrugging nonchalantly. “See? Hard, right?”
Qiao Meng nodded.
Tian Qi then turned to Tang Jing with a grin. “Teacher Tang, why don’t you give it a try?”
Tang Jing hadn’t expected Tian Qi to be scheming like this. She glanced at Meng Xue, who was also smiling and egging her on. “Teacher Tang, go for it. Let my teammate see what you’ve got.”
“Alright.” Tang Jing warmed up briefly before pressing the start button.
When Qiao Meng saw how effortlessly Tang Jing cleared each obstacle, her eyes widened in disbelief. “Th-this…”
“Teacher Tang made it look easy, didn’t she?” Tian Qi said proudly, as if she were the one who had succeeded.
Qiao Meng nodded dazedly, still stunned by how easily Tang Jing had breezed through the challenge.
