That Girl Who Skipped Class — You're In Big Trouble! - Chapter 30
Chapter 30
Zhang Xiaoxiao parked her car downstairs, yanked the phone plugged into the USB port, and checked the time. It was almost 7 o’clock. The McDonald’s sign across the street was lit, the large ‘M’ radiating a yellowish glow. She checked herself in the rearview mirror for a while, smoothed down a few stray hairs poking out from under her hat, grabbed a bag of snacks, and walked toward the adjacent office building.
As soon as she entered the building entrance, she saw Song Yingming walking out of the elevator arm-in-arm with a man. The man was impeccably dressed, his hair slicked back as if it were gleaming. The two were chatting and laughing intimately. Zhang Xiaoxiao instantly flared up. The calm she had finally achieved after more than ten days at home shattered in a second. The hand holding the snack bag trembled with anger. She strode two steps to Song Yingming, violently pulled her away, pointed at the man’s nose, and demanded: “Who are you?”
“Huh?” The man was stunned by her actions, his face full of confusion.
Song Yingming reacted, pulled her hand free from Zhang Xiaoxiao, crossed her arms, and said with a haughty expression: “CEO Zhang, what a coincidence. Here on business?” Seeing that the atmosphere between the two women was off, the man pulled Song Yingming closer and asked: “Yingying, do you want me to get rid of her?”
Zhang Xiaoxiao grew even angrier upon hearing that: “Damn it, you call her Yingying, too? First, Yingying and I have known each other for many years, and I’ve never seen you before. Second, do you even know who I am, trying to get rid of me? Third, you grabbed her hand without my permission, so, now I have to hit you.”
Before the man could react, a bag of snacks hit him in the face. He cried out in pain and clutched his nose. Song Yingming was horrified and reached out to touch the man’s face: “Xiao Kun, are you okay?” She then turned and scolded: “Zhang Xiaoxiao, are you crazy? What was that for!”
Song Yingming pulled a wet wipe from her handbag and dabbed the man’s face, completely ignoring Zhang Xiaoxiao. Seeing her so tender toward someone else, Zhang Xiaoxiao was flooded with a mix of grievance and jealousy after her anger subsided. Her legs felt like they were filled with lead, unable to take another step, and she watched blankly as Song Yingming wiped the man’s face.
After they finished cleaning up, Song Yingming supported the man and was about to walk out the main door. Zhang Xiaoxiao snapped out of her daze, took a long stride, and chased after them toward the exit, just as Song Yingming turned her face toward her: “You stand there and wait for me. Don’t come any closer. Don’t jump on me.”
Zhang Xiaoxiao froze where she stood. They had been together for too long; her moves were clearly understood by Song Yingming.
Ten minutes later, Song Yingming saw the man off and returned to the lobby, where she saw Zhang Xiaoxiao had retrieved the snack bag and was holding it, staring at her pitifully with a pair of wide eyes.
“What do you want?”
Zhang Xiaoxiao was caught off guard by the question and could only say stubbornly: “I left something very important in your studio. I came to get it.”
“Hurry up and get it. I’m busy.” Song Yingming leaned against the door, showing no intention of going inside. Zhang Xiaoxiao fumbled around in the pitch-black room for a long time before finally emerging with a notebook tucked under her arm.
“Can I leave now?”
“Mmm, ouch…” Zhang Xiaoxiao let out a wail and stopped moving in the darkness. “What is it now?” Song Yingming poked her head inside, looking helpless.
“I think I bumped into something! It hurts so much!”
Song Yingming walked in, about to turn on the light, but Zhang Xiaoxiao yanked her, and the door slammed shut. In the darkness, Zhang Xiaoxiao’s face was pressed against hers. Song Yingming tried to push her away, but Zhang Xiaoxiao gripped her hands tightly, making it impossible to move forward. Then, her mouth was sealed with a kiss, tasting of the long-missed lipstick scent.
“We already broke up!” Song Yingming finally pulled her mouth away. “Let go of my hands.”
The other woman was sucking on her neck, seemingly ignoring her words, and tending to move downward. Furious, Song Yingming bit down on Zhang Xiaoxiao’s ear with all her might. Zhang Xiaoxiao screamed in pain and let go of her hands. Song Yingming took the opportunity to kick her again, and the other woman immediately collapsed onto the floor. Song Yingming leaned against the wall for a moment. Seeing Zhang Xiaoxiao stop moving, she panicked slightly, turned on the light, and met Zhang Xiaoxiao’s eyes: “Yingying, you’d really give me up.”
“The way you are right now, I’d give up ten of you.”
“You’re talking nonsense. Hooking up with someone else in such a short time—if I hadn’t come to find you, would you have just married anyone?” Zhang Xiaoxiao sat up and stared at her. “Your today, tomorrow, the day after, and the day after that are all mine. I won’t allow you to be so casual. You can’t casually waste other people’s hearts; they are pitiful. We’ve already wasted so many years on each other; wouldn’t it be better to keep wasting them?”
Song Yingming turned her head and started crying: “That sounds nice coming from you. Then what was the meaning of you wasting time on the young girls at your company? Are you that much of a hypocrite? Look how long it’s been since you came to see me. You don’t even know my assistant.” The more Song Yingming thought about it, the more upset she became, crying even harder, completely losing the appearance of a mature woman. Suddenly, with a sii sound, the leggings under her wool skirt were torn open, and an icy hand reached inside. When she looked up at Zhang Xiaoxiao with red eyes, the other woman had already pulled her into her arms and was kissing her eyes. Blood from the bite mark still oozed on her right ear. “Zhang Xiaoxiao, you villain!” Song Yingming bit her neck and cried out.
…
Zhang Xiaoxiao pulled the blanket back, walked through the lounge, and entered the office area. She opened the snacks she had bought, picked up a bag of potato chips, and was crunching on them when a hand snatched the bag away: “Didn’t you buy these for me? Why are you eating them!”
Song Yingming, wearing an outer jacket, looked smug: “Speaking of which, Xiao Xuan should be back soon, right? Are we all going to celebrate Christmas together this year?”
“I haven’t asked yet,” Zhang Xiaoxiao touched her face. “It’s rare for the big busybody to take a break. Don’t worry.”
Song Yingming looked out the window and sighed: “She’s been traveling abroad for almost a month now, and there’s no news. What about An’an? How is she doing lately?”
“She’s working at her family’s chain hotel. I haven’t seen her since Xiao Xuan got sick last time. She’s usually very busy and doesn’t reply to messages.”
Seeing Zhang Xiaoxiao also look worried, Song Yingming put her arm around her neck and flashed a big smile: “How about we do this…”
Zhang Xiaoxiao also smiled after hearing it: “You really are my Yingying; you have so many ideas.” As soon as she finished speaking, she got a rap on the head: “Enough, flatterer.”
