That Girl Who Skipped Class — You're In Big Trouble! - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
An Qianyáng took out her phone and showed the time to Xiāo Xuán: “It’s 8:13 PM now. We are already late. I don’t want to watch the play, I just want to know your answer.”
“Then let’s go for a walk.” Xiāo Xuán gripped the shoulder strap of her bag. Her high heels made crisp sounds on the stone path. After walking a few steps, she turned around. Her shadow was stretched long under the streetlight, and her face was slightly blurred in the dim light, exuding a cool, unapproachable aura. An Qianyáng glanced around. They had arrived at a narrow alley, far from the pedestrians on the main street, and the only sound in the silence was the chirping of cicadas.
An Qianyáng walked up to Xiāo Xuán, but unexpectedly, Xiāo Xuán reached out and pinched her chin. The two were extremely close. Xiāo Xuán’s charming face magnified indefinitely in An Qianyáng’s eyes. She could even see the bright sparks in her eyes.
An Qianyáng’s heart began to pound violently.
She tasted Xiāo Xuán’s lips! The slightly cool lips captured hers, slowly savoring, gently nibbling, proudly plundering, pulling her into a dream she didn’t want to wake up from!
When An Qianyáng regained her senses, she was tightly hugging Xiāo Xuán, her entire body pressed against hers. Xiāo Xuán whispered in her ear: “Do you like it? Me kissing you like this.” An Qianyáng hugged her and nodded, letting out a soft “Mm.” Xiāo Xuán’s voice then came from close by, word for word: “Ān Ān, maybe you just like kissing me and having sex with me. I think you don’t like me at all.”
An Qianyáng instantly felt as if she was in an ice cellar. She abruptly pushed Xiāo Xuán away, standing frozen and helpless.
Xiāo Xuán didn’t move, looking at the incredulous An Qianyáng, and continued softly: “I do owe you something, but you know nothing about me, and those are two different things. Putting aside our teacher-student relationship, it’s easy for you to like someone, but it’s not for me. I’m not strong enough to accept you immediately.”
Unstoppable bitterness welled up in An Qianyáng’s eyes, and she actually shed tears: “I don’t understand. Isn’t wanting to kiss you and have sex with you liking you? How can you say I don’t like you? Only I know how I feel!”
Xiāo Xuán took a pack of tissues from her bag and offered them to An Qianyáng. “Ān Ān, I am your teacher, and I should be responsible for our behavior,” she saw An Qianyáng didn’t take the tissues, so she withdrew her hand, opening the pack as she spoke. “And I saw your boyfriend at the celebration banquet. You two have a very good relationship.”
“I have already broken up with him. I’m almost 20 and I know what I’m doing. You can’t use that reason to reject me.”
Xiāo Xuán took out a tissue to wipe the smudged makeup from An Qianyáng’s eyes: “Your relationship was so good, and you broke up with him in just a few days? What if we get together and you break up with me in a few days too?”
Hearing this, An Qianyáng tightly grabbed Xiāo Xuán’s hand, seemingly furious: “Professor Xiāo, haven’t you heard of love at first sight?”
Haven’t you heard of love at first sight?
It was that same sentence again, that same tone. Only this time, the person who spoke it was not Xiāo Xuán.
An Qianyáng watched Xiāo Xuán withdraw her hand, standing quietly in front of her. The moonlight spilled coldly onto the stone path, and she felt herself drifting farther and farther away from her.
“Thank you for liking me. But this is a serious matter to me, and I want to consider it carefully.”
“Consider what? Consider being with that fake man in the restaurant today? Or consider hobnobbing with the school leaders? Consider your reputation as A University’s ace?” An Qianyáng cried and took a step back, shouting at her loudly.
Professor Xiāo, who usually had excellent composure, got angry. She got so angry she smiled, showing a row of bright teeth: “I don’t appreciate you slandering me and my friend like that. You can misunderstand me, but please respect my choices.”
An Qianyáng ran away, rushing through the narrow alley and into the noisy crowd that hadn’t dispersed yet, no longer caring about Wūzhèn’s stone bridges, dramas, or anything about Wūzhèn.
…
In the hotel corridor, Ān Dōng looked helplessly at Lǐ Chénchén, who was acting out from drunkenness: “Chénchén, don’t be like this. It’s embarrassing for a grown man. Let’s go back to the room first. Whatever it is, you can talk to Yángyáng slowly tomorrow after you sober up.”
Classmates who were watching the scene gathered in a circle in the corridor and chimed in with agreement.
Lǐ Chénchén, sitting on the sofa with his head in his hands, looked up, his face devoid of any of his usual cheerfulness and swagger. He slurred his words: “No! I must! Ask her today! I! Don’t believe it! I don’t! Believe it!” After saying this, he heavily pounded the sofa a few times, scaring the surrounding classmates to take a few steps back.
The class monitor, who had been observing silently from the side, felt a sudden sense of dread. She quickly walked to the staircase door and called An Qianyáng. The call was answered after just a few rings, but the person on the other end also sounded low-spirited: “Hello.”
“Qianyáng, where are you now?”
“I don’t know… Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon.”
“Listen to me, don’t come back right now. Lǐ Chénchén is drunk and making a scene outside our room. He seems pretty drunk, so it’s not safe for you to come back now. Stay outside for a while and come back later.”
“…I understand… thank you…”
An Qianyáng hung up the phone and stood lost on the main street of Wūzhèn. She had nowhere to go now and just wanted to cry her heart out.
