A young widower struggling to raise a child alone as a single father finally follows his parents’ advice and agrees to a blind date, hoping to find a suitable partner to help care for his son. To his utter shock, his date turns out to be none other than his own childhood friend.
Inside the café, the young father and his son who is currently at that “troublemaking” age where even dogs and neighbors keep their distance stare at each other in disbelief.
Taro: “Son… did your grandmother ever mention that my blind date was Tregear?”
Taiga: “Dad… are you actually gay?”
Across from the father and son, Tregear sits perfectly composed, leisurely sipping his coffee. Taking a break from work to grab coffee and go on a blind date is, after all, quite an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.
As for the two sitting opposite him?
Heh. Let them figure it out in their own time.
Tregear clicks his tongue softly, considering a second cup. The coffee here is dangerously good. Forget it, he thinks, when I head back, I’ll pack a round for everyone in the office. It’s the least he can do for the colleagues covering his shift while he’s out on “leave.”
