- Chapter 4 - Drip-Drop, The More She Cries, The Softer She Gets
Nearly twenty minutes later, a knock sounded at Bo Liye’s bedroom door. Auntie Wang’s voice came through: “Xiao Ye, I’ve finished making dinner. Are you coming downstairs to eat, or should I bring it up for you?”
Bo Liye suddenly pulled the quilt over, exhaled heavily, and shouted toward the door: “Auntie Wang, I’ll go downstairs.”
“Then come down soon.”
Only after the sound of Auntie Wang’s footsteps completely vanished from the second floor did Bo Liye lift the quilt. Underneath, Qin Mingyan was lying on her back, her school uniform in disarray, her lapel half-open. Her pale lips were slightly parted, panting heavily after being smothered for so long.
On those rare, crimson lips remained a glistening sheen of moisture. A few strands of black hair clung to the corner of her mouth, winding all the way to her swollen earlobe.
The color at her chest was even more vivid. Bo Liye licked her lips, still wanting more, twenty minutes had passed far too quickly.
However, thinking of Auntie Wang’s meal, Bo Liye could only forcibly tear her gaze away from Qin Mingyan and began leisurely buttoning her school shirt.
“You can use anything in the bathroom. Pick out something new from my wardrobe to change into. Don’t go back tonight.”
Qin Mingyan’s hands had been pinned down for too long and were still trembling slightly, yet she tried her best to keep her voice steady: “No need. After I finish tutoring you, I’ll head back on my own.”
“I don’t want you lying in the same bed as me wearing a filthy school uniform. Or… do you want me to help you change?”
Every word Bo Liye spoke was gentle, yet careless.
Qin Mingyan shoved Bo Liye’s hand away and sat up, the flush on her body receding rapidly. “I said I’m not staying here tonight. Once the tutoring session is over, I’ll leave.”
“Oh, I don’t agree,” Bo Liye rejected her airily.
“My foot is injured. If I fall again during the night, it will affect my study progress. You have to stay and take care of me.”
Qin Mingyan clutched her unbuttoned shirt tightly, glaring fiercely at Bo Liye with her narrow eyes.
Bo Liye no longer bothered to hide her gaze, staring wantonly at Qin Mingyan. She extended a damp finger and tapped Qin Mingyan’s right eyelid. “Don’t be so fierce.”
Qin Mingyan’s pupils contracted, her eyelashes trembling violently. Just as she was about to push Bo Liye away, she heard Bo Liye say abruptly: “It doesn’t matter if it wasn’t your first time anyway. It was mine, so you got a bargain.”
The resentment in Qin Mingyan’s eyes receded like a tide, replaced by a rare look of dazed confusion.
Seeing this, Bo Liye smiled sweetly. She offered no explanation, simply kissed Qin Mingyan’s lips, and said, “Let’s go. Accompany me downstairs to eat something.”
While Bo Liye had been sleeping, Qin Mingyan had already eaten dinner. Auntie Wang served Bo Liye her rice and ladled soup for both of them before retiring to her own room.
At the dining table, Bo Liye ate with great relish. Qin Mingyan, however, was acting somewhat unusual. Though she remained quiet, the occasional glances she cast toward Bo Liye were highly satisfying to the latter.
Bo Liye acted as if she hadn’t noticed. She picked up a river shrimp from the soup, lightly pursed it into her mouth, and as she spat out the shell, a drop of broth hung precariously on her full lips.
She extended the tip of her tongue and licked it away.
Her upward gaze happened to collide directly with Qin Mingyan’s.
Bo Liye curled her lips lazily, looking at Qin Mingyan with amusement. “You aren’t still hung up on that ‘first kiss’ I mentioned, are you? How are you so easy to fool?”
Among Bo Liye’s friends, many had been dating since middle school. She, who had never had a first love until now, could be described as extremely green in matters of the heart.
But she happened to encounter Qin Mingyan, who was even more emotionally illiterate, giving her the confidence to toy with her at will.
Qin Mingyan’s eyes were full of suppressed anger: “You lied to me?”
“So what if I lied? What, does the idea of me having kissed someone else bother you that much?”
Qin Mingyan’s school uniform was back on, the collar pulled straight without a single wrinkle, hiding any ambiguous marks beneath. This person was always like this, despite living in a filthy, broken alleyway, she was more meticulous than anyone. Even if her clothes were washed until they turned white, they remained impeccably clean.
Bo Liye didn’t think Qin Mingyan was jealous, it was likely just her germaphobia acting up.
“Sorry, I can’t quite remember. I’ll have to think about it,” Bo Liye said. Her tone carried no hint of apology, only pure playfulness.
“Accompany me through this meal properly. If I’m happy, maybe I’ll remember.”
Qin Mingyan pursed her lips. Bo Liye wasn’t in a hurry, simply staring back at her with a beaming smile.
After a long silence, Qin Mingyan picked up her chopsticks again.
Bo Liye’s smile deepened. She took two hairy crabs and placed them on Qin Mingyan’s plate. “Peel them for me. Remove the gills.”
Qin Mingyan lifted her eyelids, put down her chopsticks, and complied.
Bo Liye’s smile widened, her eyes full of interest.
In the past, whenever she ate crab, Auntie Wang would take care of the entire process as soon as she asked. But watching Qin Mingyan’s movements now felt different.
“Do you like crab?”
Qin Mingyan handed the crab shell to Bo Liye and said calmly, “They’re a hassle. And expensive.”
“They are indeed a hassle. Give me all the shells, you can eat the rest of the meat.”
Bo Liye tossed the most troublesome parts of the crab body to Qin Mingyan as if giving alms, a malicious smile hanging on her lips.
However, this insulting “charity” did not anger Qin Mingyan. The expected scene of her struggling with the shells didn’t happen. Qin Mingyan calmly extracted the crab meat and even shared some with Bo Liye, leaving no room for criticism.
Bo Liye was starting to lose her grasp on the situation. Was Qin Mingyan doing this for the tutoring money, or for the sake of that first kiss?
But she never liked making things difficult for herself. As long as Qin Mingyan was willing to listen to her, the motivation didn’t matter.
Qin Mingyan sat beside her, quietly peeling the crabs. She had never liked crabs, regardless of whether the ones on the table were expensive enough to cover a month of her living expenses.
But when she saw Bo Liye open her mouth to eat the crab meat she had peeled, she felt for the first time that crabs weren’t a hassle at all. Those soft lips repeatedly took in the meat she handed over. When the moist, red lips parted, she could see the scarlet tip of the tongue inside, gently curling around the milky-white meat.
She looked at that tongue and could even imagine how soft it would be if she held it tight.
The pampered young mistress couldn’t stand even a bit of pain, she would surely struggle and beg for mercy with whimpers, and those beautiful eyes would definitely tear up quickly.
The more she cried, the softer she would get.
Even her voice would become more pleasant.
If one were to bite down at that moment, the delicate tongue would seep blood, staining those arrogant lips even redder, even more beautiful.
But the parted lips would only be able to passively extend the tongue, letting her lick every corner until she couldn’t even hold back the saliva.
It would be breathtakingly beautiful.
She really, truly wanted it.
Qin Mingyan’s eyes, usually devoid of emotion, dropped lower and lower. They were filled with a burning, intense light, strictly hidden behind her lashes.
Bo Liye, sitting beside her, was completely oblivious. She only felt a sudden, inexplicable chill, as if someone were spying on her from the shadows.
She thought of that stalker.
But she was home now. The Bo family villa was on prime land with tight security, no stranger could enter the neighborhood. She looked up and saw the central air conditioning blowing, and couldn’t help but feel she was being paranoid. She refocused her attention on the table.
After finishing five hairy crabs, Bo Liye seemed to have become addicted to “feeding” her. Whatever she ate, she would use another pair of chopsticks to drop a portion to Qin Mingyan.
A bite of sweet and sour pork for her, a piece for Qin Mingyan’s bowl. A slice of bamboo shoot for her, a slice for Qin Mingyan.
In the middle, she occasionally forgot to switch chopsticks, but Qin Mingyan didn’t seem to notice. The dinner, which started with no appetite, ended with her being nearly full. She couldn’t even manage the fruit platter Auntie Wang had prepared.
Bo Liye wiped her mouth with satisfaction, remembering the promise she had made. She didn’t actually care about her first kiss. In fact, the first time she kissed Qin Mingyan was at a very ordinary intersection, she simply thought Qin Mingyan looked good, so she kissed her.
There were none of the heart pounding sensations found in movies, it wasn’t even as memorable as the expression of humiliation and anger on Qin Mingyan’s face.
But seeing as Qin Mingyan had performed well during this meal, Bo Liye felt she deserved a reward. She beckoned to Qin Mingyan, who was getting the fruit platter from the fridge.
When Qin Mingyan approached, Bo Liye reached out and scratched her chin like one would a pet. “The first time I kissed someone, it really was only you.”
“But…”
“But what?” Qin Mingyan looked at her.
Bo Liye suddenly withdrew her hand, blinked gently, and a meaningful smile spread across her lips. “Afterward… that might not be the case.”
