Striving for Harmony After Transmigrating as an Alpha Female Supporting Character - Chapter 3
After the system flashed another series of bizarre attribute changes, Ai Xiaoyu couldn’t help but ask, “What about the Entropy? There has to be a change in Entropy, right? Those Osmanthus Cakes are so important didn’t they evoke sweet memories for the lead? Didn’t she feel a sliver of warmth?”
The system fell silent for a moment, appearing to calculate seriously, before finally replying: […Entropy +10.]
Ai Xiaoyu roared, “What? Only 10? If we keep adding 10 points at a time, when am I ever going to hit 10,000?”
She suspected the system didn’t actually want her to reach 10,000 and was just giving her “participation points” to keep her going.
Perhaps detecting her emotional instability, the system added: [Actually, you don’t need 10,000 for everything. Once Entropy reaches 500, you can exchange points to disable the ‘OOC Warning’ function.]
Ai Xiaoyu was overjoyed. “So I won’t have to follow the persona anymore? I can let loose and be a happy little bird, flying wherever I want?”
[System: …Not exactly. You still have plot missions to complete. If you fail those, your Entropy will drop to zero, which triggers the death condition.]
Still, this was great news. Changing her fate while constantly battling the system’s restrictions was exhausting. Once the OOC restriction was lifted, she could openly “cling to the lead’s thighs” and walk the path of harmony together.
With three days left until school started, Ai Xiaoyu spent her time studying the original plot. She had never read anything as carefully in her previous life. She also called a doll shop to pick up the grey rabbit; she wanted it mended into a truly cute, beautiful little plushie.
However, she soon realized a terrifying reality of high school life: Summer Homework.
She scoured her drawers and found a stack of blank workbooks. She rubbed her temples. I thought I only had to fight the plot, I didn’t know I had to fight math problems too!
With only a day and a half left, she decided to do something perfectly “in character”: Steal the female lead’s homework.
She marched into Jing Nianxun’s room during her lunch break. The girl was buried in her studies, a level of diligence that almost brought tears to Ai Xiaoyu’s eyes.
[System: Don’t be moved. Ai Xiaoyu would only roughly snatch the workbook away.]
“I know,” Ai Xiaoyu muttered. She strode over. Jing Nianxun was so focused she didn’t notice her until she was right there. Her first instinct was to shield her notebook.
Ai Xiaoyu looked down at a math problem and pointed. “This one is clearly wrong.”
[System: ? Host, what are you doing?]
Ai Xiaoyu’s “professional disease” was flaring up. Having studied college-level math for four years and worked as an accountant, she couldn’t stand seeing a wrong calculation. She instinctively reached to push up her non-existent glasses.
The system’s alarms were blaring.
Ai Xiaoyu lowered her voice into a cold sneer to match her persona: “You don’t even know this? Did you eat everything you were taught?”
Jing Nianxun looked up, wary and confused. At this moment, Ai Xiaoyu sounded exactly like her math teacher.
[Confusion +2]
“Look at the question. Where are your eyes? Did you even use this condition?” Ai Xiaoyu continued.
Jing Nianxun continued to stare at her as if she were a different person. Ai Xiaoyu coughed to hide her embarrassment. “Hurry up and finish so I can copy it. Don’t dawdle.”
As she watched the girl work, Ai Xiaoyu felt restless. She wanted to grab the pen and do it herself. Is this really the female lead? Where is the genius halo? She’s such a little dummy!
She completely forgot that she was a 26-year-old math soul facing a 17-year-old high schooler.
Suddenly, Ai Xiaoyu felt… hot. Was she angry at the girl’s slow pace? She felt dizzy and thirsty.
[System: Host, abnormal physical condition detected. Alpha pheromone concentration is at 70%. You haven’t used a scent blocker since the day before yesterday. Please use one immediately.]
Wait, what? My pheromones are leaking?!
Being new to the ABO world, she often forgot she was an Alpha. Luckily, the female lead hadn’t differentiated yet and couldn’t smell it… or so she thought.
“Bring it to my room when you’re done!” Ai Xiaoyu barked and fled.
Back in her room, she frantically sprayed herself with scent blockers. The room was already filled with a sweet, ripe peach scent so sugary it was almost cloying, much like the Osmanthus cakes.
Outside the door, Jing Nianxun put her pen away. She frowned slightly. She had smelled something… something sweet. She had smelled it before in the house, but it was always faint, like a mist.
She walked to Ai Xiaoyu’s room to deliver the homework. She stopped at the door; the sweet, fruity scent was much stronger here. She knocked gently.
A soft, muffled voice came from inside: “Just leave it at the door…”
The 16-year-old girl’s voice was unexpectedly soft and “moe,” like cotton candy. Jing Nianxun held her breath, a strange, itchy sensation fluttering in her heart. Before leaving, she took one more breath of that sweet fruit fragrance.
So… what exactly is this?
[System: OOC! OOC! Ai Xiaoyu didn’t slam the door when leaving Jing Nianxun’s room! OOC +5. Total: 5.]
Ai Xiaoyu was howling in her room, burying her face in her hands. Is it easy to be me?!
[System: Protagonist attribute change! Confusion +10! Curiosity +5! Entropy +10!]
Even the system was shocked. Why did the Entropy go up by 10 just because she didn’t slam a door?
