Strategy to Tame My Dimwitted Older Sister A - Chapter 30
Chu Nanqiao sat fuming in her seat, grinding her teeth in frustration. She stomped her feet and pounded the table, stopping just short of flipping it over completely.
A nearby alpha, drawn by her movements, turned to look. Captivated by Chu Nanqiao’s striking appearance, he stared for a long while, growing more and more infatuated. Encouraged by his friends, he mustered up the courage to approach her.
“Uh, hey there, classmate.”
The alpha was a little nervous, hesitating for a moment before shyly asking, “C-classmate, mind if I add you on WeChat?”
Chu Nanqiao was already seething with anger and had nowhere to vent it. Seeing the alpha staring at her so blatantly only made her angrier. She glared at him, then slammed her palm on the table and spat out, “I don’t have time! Get the hell away from me!”
The alpha’s budding affection was instantly crushed by her reaction. He stood frozen in shock, unable to believe what had just happened.
When Chu Nanqiao saw he still hadn’t left, she found him even more irritating. “D-didn’t I tell you to scram?! W-what are you still doing here?! If you don’t leave right now, I’ll scream and say you harassed me!”
Terrified, the alpha snapped out of his daze and scurried back to his seat without another word.
By the time Bai Xia returned, she noticed someone nearby kept glancing at her. Every time she looked up, they immediately turned away, but as soon as she looked back, she could see them staring again from the corner of her eye.
It was extremely odd.
Most importantly, Bai Xia faintly overheard the phrase “that omega with the braids,” and she was certain they were talking about Chu Nanqiao. So, those lingering stares must have been directed at her too.
But one thing puzzled Bai Xia. If they were just discussing how pretty Chu Nanqiao was, she wouldn’t have found it strange. However, that phrase clearly wasn’t about her appearance. Combined with the weird looks she got when she returned with their food, something was definitely off.
“Did something happen while I was gone?” Bai Xia tentatively asked.
Chu Nanqiao had just picked up her chopsticks but paused at the question. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.
How could Bai Xia be so oblivious to her obvious distress, yet immediately notice the slightest reaction from others?! Was she trying to drive her insane?!
“H-how should I know?!”
Bai Xia didn’t understand why Chu Nanqiao was lashing out again just because she asked a simple question. She had interacted with other omegas before, and they were all gentle and considerate. How much explosive temper did Chu Nanqiao pack into that tiny body?!
“Alright, alright, you don’t know. Let’s just eat.”
Chu Nanqiao grew even more furious at her dismissive attitude. How could Bai Xia not comfort her when she was clearly upset?!
Couldn’t she see she was about to explode like a pufferfish?!
How could she still eat so calmly?!
“W-why aren’t you asking me anymore?”
“Ask you what?”
Bai Xia was utterly bewildered. Just a moment ago, hadn’t she been told not to ask? But now, judging by the tone, it almost sounded like she was being blamed for not asking.
Do people really change their moods this fast?
At least give it seven or eight minutes! How much time had even passed? Less than three minutes couldn’t she wait a little longer?!
Bai Xia froze mid-motion, chopsticks hovering in the air, before slowly lowering them back to the edge of her plate. Softly, she asked, “Chu Nanqiao, junior, what exactly do you want me to ask you? I just asked if something happened, but you refused to tell me. If I ask again, you’ll just get mad at me, right?”
“Right, what? Right! No, not right!”
Chu Nanqiao viciously stabbed her chopsticks into the bottom of her tray, producing a loud clatter. “Y-you couldn’t even ask me why I’m so angry?!”
Ah!
Was she supposed to ask that?
But hadn’t Chu Nanqiao always been this quick to anger?
The last few times were the same suddenly scowling for no reason, as if Bai Xia owed her eight million.
But if Bai Xia genuinely asked why, Chu Nanqiao wouldn’t answer and would just tell her to figure it out herself. If she could figure it out, why would she even need to ask?!
Bai Xia sighed inwardly, convincing herself not to take it too personally. She was an alpha, after all. No matter what an omega did, there was always a reason, she just had to go along with it.
“Then, Chu Nanqiao, junior, why are you so angry? Did those people bully you?”
Chu Nanqiao’s big, sparkling eyes flickered before she asked, “If they did bully me, what would you do?”
What would she do?
This was a public place, those alphas weren’t idiots. They wouldn’t start a fight in the middle of the cafeteria.
Besides, even if they really did something, Bai Xia couldn’t just jump in and throw punches. Everyone was civilized these days gentlemen used words, not fists. If there was an issue, they could sit down and talk it out properly. And even if it came to blows, she couldn’t take on five of them alone!
“Chu Nanqiao, junior, some things require evidence. Could you tell me first how they bullied you?”
The brief flicker of joy on Chu Nanqiao’s face was instantly doused by Bai Xia’s cold response. Her expression darkened. “W-what do you mean? Do you think I’m lying to you?”
“No, no, of course not!” Bai Xia hurriedly explained. “I just don’t want any misunderstandings. If they really did bully you, I’ll definitely stand up for you and make them apologize. But if, it turns out to be a misunderstanding, wouldn’t that be awkward?”
Chu Nanqiao had been raised in a bubble of privilege. If she believed someone was at fault, then they were regardless of whether they actually were. Once she decided on something, the other party had no choice but to apologize.
But now, Bai Xia was asking for evidence instead of immediately taking her side. Worse, she was leaning toward those bootlickers! How outrageous!!!
Yet she couldn’t lash out like before. If she accidentally scared Bai Xia away, who would compensate her for losing someone this good-looking?
Chu Nanqiao didn’t like those bootlickers, they weren’t genuinely interested in her. They were just drawn to her looks, and once they got together, their true colors would probably show.
To put it bluntly, they just wanted to sleep with her.
Hmm…
Come to think of it, she had also taken a liking to Bai Xia because of his good looks.
No, she was nothing like those bootlickers!
She would never actively throw herself at Bai Xia, no matter how handsome he was!
That was her final word on the matter!
