Strategy to Tame My Dimwitted Older Sister A - Chapter 26
After a wave of helpless fury, Chu Nanqiao had to face one harsh reality, no matter how many hints she dropped or how obvious she made her signals, she couldn’t change the fact that Bai Xia was a hopelessly dense straight Alpha, and worse, an idiot Alpha who couldn’t read an omega’s mind at all!
[It’s clearly your fault, yet you still accuse me of picking a fight. Do you really think I’m just being unreasonable?]
Struck by the truth in those words, Bai Xia felt a pang of guilt. She did think Chu Nanqiao was being unreasonable but the problem was, she had no proof, leaving her unable to defend herself.
Chu Nanqiao waited with her phone for a long time, but Bai Xia never replied. That silence only confirmed her suspicions Bai Xia did think of her that way.
The more she dwelled on it, the angrier she became. There was nothing wrong with her Bai Xia was just too stupid to see it! So why was she the one being blamed?
Chu Nanqiao had never suffered such humiliation in her life. Back home, anyone who dared treat her this way would’ve been thrown out long ago. If she even had to ask for respect, they’d clearly have a death wish.
Damn it!
Bai Xia was so infuriating!
Fuming, Chu Nanqiao stood up, only to realize there was nothing in the dorm she could vent her anger on. She couldn’t even scream her roommates would think she’d lost her mind. But if she didn’t let it out somehow, she’d explode.
What upset her most wasn’t just Bai Xia’s thoughts about her, it was the fact that, as an omega, no Alpha had ever treated her this way before. Being emotionally dense was one thing, but how could Bai Xia remain completely indifferent to a stunning, delicate, and utterly charming omega like her?!
Was that even a normal Alpha’s reaction?!
No, even a disabled Alpha wouldn’t react like this. At least they still had normal instincts, even if their bodies didn’t work right. Bai Xia, on the other hand, was messed up both physically and mentally!
But then, Chu Nanqiao suddenly remembered the milk tea Bai Xia had offered her. If Bai Xia had bought it for herself, she wouldn’t have given it up so easily. People always had a possessive instinct toward their own belongings even the most generous person would hesitate if someone suddenly tried to take what was theirs.
Yet Bai Xia hadn’t hesitated at all. She’d willingly handed it over, which meant… that milk tea wasn’t hers to begin with. Someone else must’ve given it to her.
And that half-eaten meal clearly, someone else had been sitting across from Bai Xia before she arrived. In other words, she wasn’t the first one Bai Xia had shared a meal with that day.
Only now did Chu Nanqiao realize this, and it made her even angrier. The thought that Bai Xia had so casually passed along someone else’s gift to her wasn’t that exactly the kind of thing a scummy Alpha would do?!
Furious, she quickly typed another message.
[This is all your fault! If you don’t apologize, I’ll never forgive you! And I’ll hold this grudge for the rest of my life! I’ll expose your crimes to every omega out there and make sure you end up alone forever!]
This time, Bai Xia replied almost instantly.
[Uh, but I’m not married, so I can’t really become a “widowed Alpha”]
[…]
Chu Nanqiao was fuming again, her teeth grinding audibly in frustration. But no matter how angry she got, it was useless Bai Xia wouldn’t yield to her unreasonable demands, nor would he fawn over her like those other sycophantic Alphas. Objectively speaking, Bai Xia wasn’t in the wrong here.
They weren’t in any kind of intimate relationship in fact, they were barely more than acquaintances. Bai Xia had no obligation to treat her so well, let alone tolerate her tantrums. Realizing this only made Chu Nanqiao even more resentful.
Since childhood, she had always been the most dazzling presence in any crowd, coddled and adored wherever she went. There had never been anyone she couldn’t win over until Bai Xia.
Damn it, damn it!
Stupid Alphas were the worst.
If it weren’t for… if it weren’t for…
If it weren’t for that face of his, she would have taught Bai Xia a harsh lesson, making sure he understood the consequences of ignoring her!
Chu Nanqiao grabbed a pillow and squeezed it violently a few times before finally calming down. But upon reflection, something didn’t quite add up.
Why was she even angry?
What was there to be angry about?
There were so many Alphas in the world, if this one didn’t work out, she could just move on to the next. She wasn’t the type to obsess over one person like an idiot.
But if she was still angry now, didn’t that make her the idiot?
Chu Nanqiao had never particularly liked anyone in her life. Growing up in a wealthy, influential family, she had never lacked for beautiful things especially Omegas. Without even needing introductions, someone would inevitably come fawning over her. But this time was different. She felt an almost possessive desire toward Bai Xia and couldn’t stand him ignoring her.
And she had dropped so many hints even an idiot would have understood what she was thinking. Yet he had the nerve to ask, “What did I do wrong?” How infuriating!
[I don’t care, this is your fault! If you don’t apologize to me, I’ll no, not tomorrow tonight! I’ll expose your crimes on the school forum and make sure every Omega stays far away from you! You’ll be a lonely Alpha forever!]
Bai Xia frowned, but something about Chu Nanqiao’s behavior felt oddly familiar like she was throwing a petty tantrum.
It reminded him of the arguments he sometimes had with Xu Mo, where neither side would back down.
Could it be… that Chu Nanqiao wanted to be close friends with him?
But why?
As a wealthy heiress, Chu Nanqiao could easily make friends with just a flick of her fingers no, not even that. A mere glance would be enough to summon a crowd. Who wouldn’t want to befriend a young lady from a prestigious family?
But Bai Xia was just an ordinary guy with nothing special to offer. Wouldn’t being friends with him be beneath her?
He could hardly imagine Chu Nanqiao enduring the humiliation. Moreover, if she were seen with a plain Alpha like him, she’d probably be mocked by other elites. Given her pride, she’d never tolerate that.
But if he didn’t apologize, Chu Nanqiao might really drag him on the school forum. And once that happened, no amount of explaining would clear his name.
“Alright, I was wrong. I apologize. Don’t be angry, junior. It’s all my fault. Please calm down.”
“Then tell me, what exactly were you wrong about?”
“…”
Bai Xia collapsed onto the desk, motionless. Asking her what she did wrong, how was she supposed to know which part of what she said was incorrect?!
No, wait, there wasn’t even anything wrong with what she said in the first place!
