Strategy to Tame My Dimwitted Older Sister A - Chapter 11
Chu Nanqiao knew she was brushing her off again and looked a little annoyed. She couldn’t understand why Bai Xia, as an alpha, was so resistant to her, an omega. Could it really be as she suspected that Bai Xia was a disabled alpha?!
“Y-you is there something wrong with your body?”
“Huh?”
“I mean, that aspect!”
“Which aspect?”
Bai Xia was utterly baffled by the question, but she knew Chu Nanqiao definitely wasn’t asking in a normal way. “Be clearer. I hate this ‘guess if I can guess’ game.”
Chu Nanqiao didn’t press further. After letting go of Bai Xia’s hand, she turned her head to the side and muttered to herself, “Oh no! It seems she really has encountered a disabled alpha and one who’s not too bright, at that. Sure, she’s really good-looking, but if there’s something wrong that way, what’s she supposed to do when her heat comes? This clueless alpha wouldn’t even know how to help! It’s not like an omega can teach an alpha what to do? Well, she could, but her family would never agree to that!”
But…
Chu Nanqiao lifted her eyes slightly, feeling even more frustrated inside.
But this alpha she’s really good-looking!!!
“Well?” Bai Xia grew increasingly suspicious. “Why’d you suddenly stop talking? Don’t worry, Senior here is very tolerant and generous. I promise I won’t get mad.” (But I can’t promise I won’t beat you to death.)
Chu Nanqiao turned back and tentatively asked, “T-then, if I really say it, you have to promise not to hit me!”
Not bad, she knows how to secure an escape route.
Pretty sharp.
Bai Xia said, “Go ahead. I promise I won’t hit you.”
Chu Nanqiao looked at her guiltily and stammered, “I-it’s just, it’s just…”
“Just what?”
“J-just your body is it really, okay?”
“Huh?!”
“I-I don’t mean anything else!”
Afraid Bai Xia might actually get angry, Chu Nanqiao kept glancing up to gauge her reaction, only continuing when she saw no change in Bai Xia’s expression. “Y-you’re an alpha, I-I’m an omega. Even if even if I’m not in heat right now, and there’s no scent of pheromones as an alpha, shouldn’t you feel something toward me, an omega? Like the urge to get closer?”
Oh, so that’s what this was about.
So Chu Nanqiao’s earlier strange reactions were because she, as an alpha, showed no response to her as an omega, making her suspect she had some kind of physical dysfunction?!
Bai Xia was torn between laughter and exasperation. In the end, she couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing.
Chu Nanqiao had her pride. No one had ever dared laugh in her face like this before, and Bai Xia was clearly mocking her. She felt a little indignant. “W-what are you laughing at?! D-don’t laugh at me!”
Bai Xia’s infectious laughter abruptly stopped, but when she saw Chu Nanqiao’s fierce glare as if she wanted to hit her she laughed even harder.
“HAHAHAHA!”
Being laughed at like this, Chu Nanqiao’s youthful face flushed red and then darkened with anger. Clenching her small fists, she couldn’t bring herself to strike out, so she could only sulk inwardly. Pouting, she turned her body away.
From childhood to adulthood, she had been the treasured pearl of her family. Although her parents were strict with her, they genuinely loved her. Take her stuttering, for example, if anyone dared to laugh in front of her, or even if their gaze held the slightest hint of mockery, her parents would immediately demand an apology without hesitation. And if someone from another family dared to ridicule her, even if their status surpassed the Chu family’s, her parents would absolutely find a way to make them pay for their scorn.
To put it plainly, from childhood to adulthood, she had always been the one mocking others never the other way around!
But it was so infuriating! And to make matters worse, this alpha was exactly her type, especially that face. If she accidentally injured it, it would be such a shame.
The more Chu Nanqiao thought about it, the angrier she became. Yet, she couldn’t take her frustration out on Bai Xia, so she could only fume at herself for being so shallow. If it were someone else with a different face, she would have taught them a lesson in no time showing them the consequences of careless words!
Finally, Bai Xia’s infectious laughter subsided. Realizing she might have gone too far, she quickly apologized with a smile, “Are you mad? My bad, my bad. I shouldn’t have laughed so loudly no, no, I shouldn’t have laughed at your thoughts at all. My mistake, I apologize.”
Chu Nanqiao remained silent, her lips still pursed. She didn’t believe Bai Xia’s apology was sincere. Alphas with looks like hers were the best at deception sweet-talking to your face while secretly laughing at you behind your back. They probably thought her ideas were utterly stupid and that she was a complete fool.
As expected, she shouldn’t have held out hope for any alpha, they were all just good-looking frauds!
Seeing Chu Nanqiao still unresponsive, Bai Xia wondered if she was genuinely upset. But she hadn’t meant any harm Chu Nanqiao’s speculation was just too funny, and with her low threshold for laughter, it was only natural she couldn’t hold back. Surely, she couldn’t be that angry, right?
Was she just pretending?
Bai Xia wasn’t sure. Omega emotions were different from alphas’, and it was a headache-inducing mystery she couldn’t quite grasp.
“Junior, are you really mad?”
Chu Nanqiao still didn’t react, but the puffiness of her cheeks made it clear she was indeed upset.
Bai Xia sighed deeply, feeling helpless. She couldn’t just leave Chu Nanqiao, an omega, alone here, that would be downright irresponsible. But she truly hadn’t expected Chu Nanqiao to get so worked up over something so trivial.
She circled around to face Chu Nanqiao, bending down to study her expression. The sight of Chu Nanqiao’s puffed-up cheeks reminded her of a certain animal, a food-hoarding hamster!
The resemblance was uncanny.
Was Chu Nanqiao secretly a hamster spirit reincarnated?
But before Bai Xia could drift further into her thoughts, Chu Nanqiao seemed to sense her strange gaze and took a few steps back. Her previously puffed cheeks deflated, and her expression turned fierce again.
“W-what are you l-looking at?! D-don’t look!”
“But you’re standing right in front of me. If I don’t look at you, who else should I look at?”
Bai Xia leaned in slightly and said, “Besides, you’re so good-looking isn’t that meant for others to see? Otherwise, what a waste, don’t you think?”
“So, so what! I, I said, no looking! You, you’re not, allowed to look!” Chu Nanqiao reached out to cover Bai Xia’s eyes, but her arms were too short, it was as if she hadn’t even tried.
Bai Xia glanced at the time. She had already been here for over half an hour, and if she didn’t head back soon, someone might come looking for her. “Stop fooling around,” she said softly.
Chu Nanqiao froze for a moment, then obediently lowered her hands, pouting. “I, I wasn’t, fooling around.”
