Spoiled Sweetheart, The Cold CEO’s Downfall - Chapter 3
Li Zhenyan suddenly felt utterly at a loss.
His intention wasn’t to scold her, he only wanted Xu Xiang to protect herself and not do anything reckless for his sake. But having grown up in an environment devoid of affection, he had no idea how to comfort a woman. Moreover, this was the first time Xu Xiang had ever acted so coquettishly toward him.
“Don’t cry, don’t cry. It’s my fault, all my fault. Hit me, okay?” Li Zhenyan grabbed Xu Xiang’s hand and pressed it against his own face.
She immediately pulled her hand back, hugging him aggrievedly. This blockhead, how could she ever bear to hit him? But the pain was real, and she stubbornly endured it without making a sound.
Li Zhenyan’s eyes were bloodshot as he tried to soothe her. He noticed Xu Xiang’s subtle attempt to hide her feet under the blanket. Grabbing her foot, he saw it was covered in glass shards, no better than her back.
“Xu Xiang, is this how you hurt yourself?”
“Ayan, a kiss… If you kiss it, it won’t hurt anymore.”
Li Zhenyan froze. When had Xu Xiang ever spoken to him in such a coaxing tone? For a moment, he was at a loss.
Xu Xiang knew this fool wouldn’t understand, so she decided to take the initiative. With a soft smack, her lips briefly met his, the tenderness seeping straight into Li Zhenyan’s heart.
Assistant Li Yunyun lowered her head in embarrassment. Rumors said the Second Master and Miss Xu didn’t get along, but seeing them today, it was clear rumors were just rumors.
Li Zhenyan was momentarily stunned, but then he recalled how every time Xu Xiang had tried to please him before, it was only to see Gu Wangchuan. His expression instantly turned cold.
He tightened his grip on her wrist threateningly. “Xu Xiang, don’t try any tricks with me. If you want to see Gu Wangchuan, it’s impossible in this lifetime!”
Xu Xiang knew she hadn’t earned enough of Li Zhenyan’s trust yet, a single kiss wasn’t enough to make him believe her. She gently placed her left hand over his, softly pressing and kneading.
As he felt the soft touch of her hand, he listened to her whisper, “Ayan, I won’t run away again. Believe me, okay?”
How could Li Zhenyan resist such blatant coaxing from Xu Xiang? Almost without thinking, he replied, “Okay.”
Soon, Li Yunyun had cleaned all the glass shards, large and small, from Xu Xiang’s body. Li Zhenyan watched as bandages were wrapped around her, his heart filled with indescribable emotions.
He reached out and gently touched the bite mark on Xu Xiang’s neck. “Silly girl, next time something like that happens, stay far away, understand?”
“Mhm! Huh? No way! Ayan, you’re my precious darling. How could I ever abandon you?”
Xiang just called him her precious darling.
Seeing Li Zhenyan’s adorable reaction, Xu Xiang wanted to give him another kiss, but she was interrupted by a knock at the door. “Second Master, may we come in?”
The man’s gaze turned icy, his voice low. He adjusted Xu Xiang’s clothes and pulled the blanket over her, covering her completely. “Come in.”
As Jiang Yan and Wen Ziqing stepped inside, they immediately sensed the tense atmosphere. The Second Master’s terrifyingly cold expression hinted that something must have happened undoubtedly, Xu Xiang was up to her old tricks again.
Jiang Yan shot a glance at Xu Xiang, who was wrapped up like a zongzi and held tightly by the Second Master. What a troublemaker. But considering she had saved the Second Master last night, he decided to let her past behavior slide.
However, the person in question, Xu Xiang, had other ideas.
She was someone who held grudges and always sought revenge. In this world, only Li Zhenyan was allowed to bully her, no one else.
“Have you come to take my life?”
As Xu Xiang’s words fell, Li Zhenyan’s bloodthirsty gaze shifted to Jiang Yan.
He couldn’t bear to harm his Xiangxiang in the slightest.
Jiang Yan, frightened, stumbled backward and hid behind Wen Ziqing. “Ah? No, no, no! What I said last night was just out of anger. Don’t take it to heart, please don’t take it to heart.”
He had indeed spoken in a moment of panic, who in this world would dare lay a hand on Xu Xiang?
She was the one Second Master cherished above all else.
Even if she asked him to walk through fire or climb a mountain of blades, he would likely do it without batting an eye.
“Jiang Yan…”
“Ah Yan, I’m hungry,” Xu Xiang interrupted Li Zhenyan pitifully, rubbing her flat stomach.
She knew Li Zhenyan would genuinely punish Jiang Yan, but she had only intended to scare him, not take it seriously.
“Tell the kitchen to prepare some food.”
Jiang Yan knew Xu Xiang was giving him a way out, and he scurried downstairs eagerly.
Only three people remained in the room. Wen Ziqing stepped forward to check Li Zhenyan’s pulse. “Second Master, your breathing is still a bit unsteady. It might be due to some medicine you took.”
Hearing this, Xu Xiang felt even worse. The medicine he referred to was the poison she had given Li Zhenyan the previous morning.
Xu Nuo had promised that if she made Li Zhenyan drink it, she could break free from his control and regain her freedom.
In the past, she had been infatuated with the gentleness of her fiancé, Gu Wangchuan, and had repeatedly hurt Li Zhenyan, trying every means to escape, only to fail each time.
Fortunately, Li Zhenyan had used his immense power to keep her by his side, or she would be regretting it now.
“Ah Yan, I’m sorry. I wasn’t well-behaved before. I didn’t understand, but I’ll never do it again.”
Xu Xiang’s face flushed red, and tears streamed down like broken strings, falling one by one.
Li Zhenyan panicked, using his sleeve to clumsily wipe away her tears. “Be good, don’t cry, don’t cry.”
His comforting only made her cry harder. How could Li Zhenyan be so foolish and still love her so much?
Seeing the situation was awkward, Wen Ziqing quickly excused himself.
Miss Xu seemed to have changed since last night.
Once they were alone again in the room, Xu Xiang grew bolder.
Now was the time to let her true nature shine. “Ah Yan, kiss me. If you kiss me, I’ll feel better.”
Without hesitation, Li Zhenyan leaned down and pressed his lips to hers, but he pulled back almost immediately.
Xu Xiang wasn’t about to let such a golden opportunity slip away.
She wrapped her arms around his body, leaving him momentarily unsure how to respond. His movements turned rough as he reciprocated.
Xu Xiang opened her eyes and noticed this fool was still staring at her. She quickly covered his eyes and mumbled, “Ah Yan… when kissing, you have to close your eyes.”
Li Zhenyan obediently closed his eyes, immersing himself in the sensation.
Xu Xiang winced in pain and frowned. “Don’t bite.”
He pushed away in a panic, urgently checking if her lips were injured.
Li Zhenyan’s face flushed red, the color spreading all the way to his ears. Xu Xiang couldn’t help but laugh at the sight.
At 25 years old, he didn’t even know how to kiss.
“Ah Yan, you’re so silly. You don’t even know how to kiss. This can’t be your first kiss, can it?”
This was truly his first kiss, but Xu Xiang was so skilled could she have kissed Gu Wangchuan before? Jealousy swelled in his heart at that moment.
He grabbed Xu Xiang by the waist, pulling her tightly against him. His domineering lips pressed against hers with a hint of roughness. Men’s learning ability in this area was remarkably strong.
“Xu Xiang, you are mine. You can only be mine.”
She knew exactly what Li Zhenyan was thinking, this fool was clearly jealous. “Mm, Xu Xiang is Li Zhenyan’s. She always has been. And this was my first kiss too.”
Li Zhenyan’s movements instantly softened.
When Wen Ziqing left, the door had remained open. Aunt Liu, accompanied by several servants, happened to arrive just in time to witness the scene.
The younger servants shyly turned their heads away, while the experienced Aunt Liu stood silently by the door, waiting for the two to finish.
Xu Xiang opened her dazed eyes and saw a crowd of people watching her at the doorway. Embarrassed, she buried her face in Li Zhenyan’s chest.
Her small fists pounded lightly against his firm chest in frustration. “Wuwu, this is so embarrassing, so embarrassing! It’s all your fault, all your fault!”
“My fault, my fault,” Li Zhenyan said, catching her flailing hands. Her strength felt no more than a gentle tickle against his heart.
