Spilling the Tea on the Movie Star Who Won't Leave Me Alone - Chapter 1
Xu Chi was intersex, a secret known to no one else since the passing of his parents.
He was also exclusively attracted to men. To be more precise, he was only interested in one specific man: Gu Jingxuan.
That night, after taking matters into his own hands, Xu Chi… “gloriously” had an erotic dream. The stars of the show were himself and the currently trending Movie Star, Gu Jingxuan.
“Be good, just a little longer. We’ll go together.”
Before the man could lead him to the peak of climax, Xu Chi was jolted awake by the shrill blaring of his alarm.
He reached out and slapped the alarm off, burying his head back under the covers in hopes of resuming the dream. However, he was startled awake again this time by his ringtone.
“Chi Zi! Get over here right now! The Director is blowing a fuse!” Assistant Lin Tao’s frantic voice exploded from the other end. “It’s the first day of filming for the new project and you’re late! You’re going to leave a terrible impression. Hurry up!”
The assistant’s voice snapped Xu Chi out of his daze. He scrambled out of bed, his voice still thick and raspy from sleep. “Got it, Brother Lin. Please apologize to Director Jiang for me. I’m on my way!”
Xu Chi glanced down at his damp underwear. He changed at lightning speed, gave himself a cursory wash, and dashed to the garage to drive to the set.
He’d had a friend over the night before, so he had let his assistant stay at the hotel near the film set while he went home. He never expected to oversleep. He had even set several alarms, but he hadn’t heard the first few at all, and he’d intended to keep sleeping after hitting snooze on the last one. If his assistant hadn’t called, he would still be in bed.
It had been so difficult to land a role in a production by such a renowned director; he couldn’t afford to lose this opportunity over a moment of negligence.
As he navigated the traffic, Xu Chi cursed himself inwardly. How could I be so lazy? How could I mess up something this important?
It had been several years since his debut. As someone who hadn’t graduated from a professional acting academy and had switched careers halfway through, the path hadn’t been easy. When Director Jiang chose him for this role, he had been walking on air for days. Since his debut, Xu Chi had been pigeonholed into playing the “tragic second lead” in romance dramas. He felt that if he kept going down this path, his career would be stuck forever.
Fortunately, the snow had just begun to melt, so there weren’t too many cars on the road. Avoiding red lights as much as possible, he drove faster than he ever had in his life to reach the studio.
The moment he stepped into the set, he was so nervous he could barely speak. Everyone was ready; the entire crew was waiting for him alone.
Xu Chi, who had never made people wait like this before, lowered his head, his face flushing crimson as he apologized profusely. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I woke up late. I’ve kept you all waiting.”
Director Jiang stood with his hands behind his back, staring at Xu Chi without saying a word.
Rumor had it that Director Jiang was incredibly strict with his actors and had once reduced a leading lady to tears with his scolding. Xu Chi didn’t dare lift his head, bracing himself for the Director’s wrath.
Xu Chi was naturally handsome, with silky black hair and fair skin. His eyes always seemed moist and shimmering, much like a kitten begging for food. Under Director Jiang’s silent, piercing gaze, Xu Chi bit his rosy lower lip, his cheeks burning with a shameful pink. He was so tense he looked like he might cry.
“Alright, that’s enough. Stop scaring the kid and send him to makeup.”
Hearing someone speak up for him, Xu Chi shot a quick look upward. Meeting the speaker’s smiling eyes, he immediately looked down again—this time, even the tips of his ears were red.
Why didn’t Brother Lin tell me that Movie Star Gu was coming today?! It’s over… I’ve already left him with the image of a slacker who’s late on day one.
Xu Chi was whisked away by the makeup artist. Director Jiang took the opportunity to explain the scene.
“Since it’s snowing at the film city today, we’re going to shoot your scenes with Jingxuan first. In this scene, it’s ten years later. The female lead has sacrificed her life for him; you find it unjust, so you go to confront the male lead… Makeup artist, make him look older. His skin is too good.”
The second male lead played by Xu Chi was the female lead’s childhood friend. He had expected her to end up with him, never imagining she would fall for the male lead instead.
“Little fellow, are you nervous?”
Xu Chi was still pondering the character relationships when the sudden sound of Gu Jingxuan’s voice made his heart leap.
Gu Jingxuan had already changed into his costume an elegant, traditional robe with his hair pulled high, revealing a smooth forehead. His hand rested on the back of Xu Chi’s chair as he watched him through the mirror with a smile.
Xu Chi grew even stiffer, afraid to move. He blinked and gave Gu Jingxuan a strained smile.
“I’m… I’m okay.”
His nerves made him stutter. His eyes darted everywhere, not daring to meet Gu Jingxuan’s gaze in the mirror. He thought to himself: How am I supposed to treat someone this handsome as a love rival? This is exactly the kind of man who should be in my dreams.
Gu Jingxuan assumed Xu Chi had simply been rattled by Director Jiang’s behavior earlier. He patted Xu Chi’s shoulder reassuringly. “Jiang Jun is just hitting male menopause. Don’t be afraid of him. If you have any trouble, just come to me.”
Xu Chi nodded stiffly, only to realize there was a sudden, itchy heat building below. Just being touched by Gu Jingxuan was enough to arouse him.
“Thank you, Brother Gu.”
Director Jiang might be “trouble,” but Gu Jingxuan’s physical contact was a much bigger problem.
