The female protagonist transmigrates into a crime investigation novel, swaps identities with the original host, and ultimately ends up with the female supporting character. The story uses a unit format (case-by-case): solving crimes, falling in love, and engaging in extreme emotional push-and-pull.
Lǐ Hèwēi, who is “bent like a mosquito coil,” transmigrates into a crime investigation novel to become the police station’s sole Criminal Simulated Portrait Artist, and, surprisingly, a married woman. Fortunately, her husband is missing, and her sister-in-law, Táo Líng, is also sensible, usually avoiding calling her ‘sister-in-law’.
Unexpectedly, in the near future, Lǐ Hèwēi finds herself getting addicted to the sister-in-law dynamic, questioning Táo Líng: “But what? Is it not okay to live at your sister-in-law’s house?”
“How can we split the bill? I am your sister-in-law; I must insist on treating you!”
Later on, Lǐ Hèwēi finds herself deeply embroiled in a murder predicament, with all evidence pointing to her as the killer of her husband. However, Táo Líng steps forward amid the doubts of their relatives and friends: “I believe she is not the murderer.”
