She’s Fiercer Than Zombies - Chapter 9
In the end, the two of them stood stark naked in the bathroom, staring wide-eyed at each other.
Yinxi had fallen completely silent, not even letting out a growl.
What kind of decent person showers together and sees everything on the very first day they get together!
“Senior, don’t be shy! I’m just like you!” Having shaken off her initial embarrassment, Qiao Gaogao was now acting incredibly bold.
If she could have escaped, Yinxi would have buried herself underground right then and there, it was just too awkward!
But Qiao Gaogao paid no mind. She carried her senior into the bathtub, letting only her head stick out, and began washing her hair while simultaneously promoting her own skills.
“Senior, feel this, I’m amazing at washing hair! I can even give you a scalp massage!”
With just her head poking out of the bathtub, Yinxi felt utterly humiliated by the childlike posture of having her hair washed by a “parent.” At that moment, she had no desire to engage with Qiao Gaogao at all.
Qiao Gaogao pouted but soon broke into a delighted grin.
“Senior, your body is even better than in my dreams!”
Only after seeing the beauty hidden beneath Yinxi’s clothes did Qiao Gaogao realize how conservative her dream-inspired imaginations had been.
Yinxi looked so slender, yet once undressed, she had all the right curves in all the right places.
Yinxi: “???”
Was that even appropriate to say? What did she mean, “better than in my dreams”? What kind of strange things had she been dreaming about?
After finishing Yinxi’s hair, Qiao Gaogao carefully wiped her body with a towel. Yinxi kept her eyes closed, feigning calm as she allowed Qiao Gaogao to handle her, but she gradually noticed the tender, cautious movements as if Qiao Gaogao were afraid of scrubbing her skin raw even during a simple bath.
How could she be so good to her?
If she hadn’t turned into a zombie, Yinxi might never have known just how deeply Qiao Gaogao cared for her so much so that she hadn’t abandoned her even after her transformation.
Once Yinxi was clean, Qiao Gaogao began washing herself, scrubbing thoroughly twice to rid her body of the unpleasant odor. Throughout the process, Yinxi’s gaze occasionally drifted toward her.
“Senior, you can look all you want. I don’t mind, I’m your girlfriend, after all!” Qiao Gaogao declared without a hint of shame.
“Grr!” Who wants to look at you!
“Fine, don’t look then.” Qiao Gaogao pouted, dried herself off, slipped into a bathrobe, and then draped another one over Yinxi. Seeing how the robe fell short on Yinxi’s frame, she immediately broke into a beaming smile.
Her senior looked rather comical wearing her bathrobe.
“Grr, grr!” Stop laughing!
“Hehe!” Qiao Gaogao only laughed more heartily.
After carrying Yinxi out and blow-drying her hair, Qiao Gaogao began applying medicine to her wounds. The sight of the scrapes stirred up anger as she recalled the earlier incident.
“Does it hurt?” Qiao Gaogao asked softly, blowing gently on the injuries as she treated them. On herself, such wounds would hardly count as injuries, but on Yinxi, they seemed unbearably severe.
“Grr, grr.” It doesn’t hurt.
“How could it not hurt?” Qiao Gaogao’s heart ached even more. Her senior had never suffered injuries like this before!
“Grr, grr!” I’m a zombie!
Qiao Gaogao blinked slowly, finally realizing that zombies likely felt no pain.
She wrinkled her nose. While she was glad Yinxi wasn’t in pain, the lack of sensation also meant Yinxi couldn’t avoid potential dangers, which could put her at even greater risk.
It seems we still need to find Senior’s parents as soon as possible.
After blow-drying her hair, Qiao Gaogao helped Senior change into her own set of clothes. The shorts that were knee-length on Qiao Gaogao looked like hot pants on Senior, giving off a completely sporty vibe something Qiao Gaogao had never seen before.
“Senior looks good in anything!” Qiao Gaogao praised sincerely. Even in sportswear, Senior exuded a dashing and heroic aura!
“Grrr!” You look good too.
“Hehe.” Qiao Gaogao went over, picked up Yinxi, and carried her outside. When they returned to the martial arts school, they found that the others had already unloaded the supplies and were sitting together in the training area. As soon as they arrived, Senior Brother Qi Ji immediately tossed two cushions over to them.
“Thank you, Senior Brother.” Qiao Gaogao helped Yinxi sit down and then blinked curiously, asking, “What are you all talking about?”
“We’re tallying up everyone’s family situations,” Qiao Muyi said softly, patting her head.
“Mom, I told you not to pat my head anymore! It’s because you all pat it so much that I can’t grow taller!” Qiao Gaogao complained irritably, thinking about the look Senior had given her earlier!
“Ahem.” Qiao Muyi coughed lightly, looking somewhat guilty as she glanced around. Deep down, they somewhat believed this theory after all, both she and her husband were tall, so how could their daughter be so short?
Dad Qiao also looked a bit guilty, lowering his head and rubbing his nose. After all, he hadn’t held back from patting Qiao Gaogao’s head either.
Dad Qiao had married into the Qiao family. Back then, he and Qiao Muyi had fallen in love freely. Since Qiao Muyi was the only child in her family, he decided to marry into her household. Because of this, he had a falling out with his own family, and even after all these years, they still acted as if he didn’t exist.
The couple had a strong relationship, and the family atmosphere was naturally warm and loving. Qiao Gaogao grew up surrounded by affection, which shaped her cheerful and optimistic personality.
Over the years, the couple had expanded the martial arts school left by Grandpa Qiao. Qiao Gaogao had spent her childhood at the school. Initially, the doting parents hadn’t planned for her to learn martial arts, but to their surprise, growing up in that environment, she naturally picked up the skills and could even hold her own in a fight. Seeing her talent, they asked for her opinion and then devoted themselves to teaching her.
What they hadn’t expected, however, was that their precious daughter, who had been beating boys to tears since childhood, would suddenly bring home a girl.
They cautiously observed the girl. She was truly beautiful, almost like a doll. It was just a pity that she had turned into a zombie.
–
“So, how’s the tally going?” Qiao Gaogao asked curiously.
“The martial arts school’s count is done. Thirteen family members are at home, three are trapped outside and can’t return, and the remaining twenty-seven are all out of contact,” Qi Miao reported in a somber tone. Given the current situation, those out of contact were likely in grave danger.
Not only Qi Miao, but the others in the martial arts school also seemed downcast. To varying degrees, everyone’s families had been affected.
Qiao Gaogao was momentarily stunned but then turned to Zhao Dan and the others. “What about your situations?”
Zhao Dan was the first to speak. “There are five people in my family: my grandmother, my parents, and a younger brother who’s studying at a university in S City.”
“My grandmother is at home, but my parents are at work and haven’t returned. I’ve tried calling, but I can’t reach any of them.”
As Zhao Dan spoke, Qi Miao quickly took notes.
“I came here to work. I don’t have any relatives here they’re all back in my hometown, and they’re safe for now.”
“I’m here for school, and I don’t have family here either.”
“I have a husband. He’s at home, but I don’t want anything to do with him,” the mother with the child suddenly spoke up.
As soon as she said this, everyone’s attention turned to her, and her daughter clung tightly to her side.
The woman forced a bitter smile. “After I got married, I became a full-time homemaker. Then, after I gave birth, he started hitting me when he was drunk. For the sake of my child, I endured it, but I never expected him to get worse and worse. I thought about divorce, but my daughter is still too young, and I have no source of income. If he fought me for custody, I wouldn’t stand a chance.”
“I’ve always wanted to leave with my daughter, and now is the perfect opportunity to get away from him.”
In response to her mother’s words, the little girl silently nestled closer, offering quiet comfort and showing that she would stand by her side.
Anger was evident on many faces.
“What a monster!”
“Someone like that deserves to die!”
“Since we’re all gathered here now, it’s only natural that we unite and work together! Let’s come up with a detailed plan. For those of you with family members, we’ll do our best to rescue them if we can, but if we can’t, please understand,” Qiao Muyi stepped in to take charge at the right moment.
“Understood.”
Everyone nodded. After all, with the danger outside, even the willingness to go out and rescue others was something to be grateful for.
Taking advantage of the fact that everyone was present, Qiao Gaogao shared her plan.
Right now, they needed to find a safe place to establish a base. Even if their homes were here, they couldn’t stay in Z City for long. The population of Z City was too large, which meant there were many who had turned into zombies. If a horde formed later, they’d be finished.
Qiao Muyi pondered for a moment, then his eyes lit up. “That shouldn’t be too difficult. Gaogao, do you remember your cousin? He developed a resort in a county in H City. It has all kinds of facilities, and we could definitely move there.”
Hearing her mother mention this, Qiao Gaogao’s eyes also brightened. When the resort was first completed, her family had visited. The facilities were indeed comprehensive, and with its scenic location by the mountains and water, the environment was excellent.
The only downside was that it hadn’t gained much popularity, so there were few tourists. After her cousin went abroad, the resort fell into further decline.
“Later, we can also get some weapons from your aunt. That’ll give us more protection,” Qiao’s father added.
Zhao Dan and the others looked confused. What kind of weapons could ensure their safety?
“Gaogao’s aunt runs a shooting club with all sorts of firearms. Before, they were strictly regulated, but in times like these, the government probably won’t have the resources to worry about such details,” Qi Miao explained.
Yinxi, sitting next to Qiao Gaogao, was also taken aback.
This family was anything but ordinary!
Qiao Gaogao seemed like such an innocent little rabbit, but now it felt like she was the one who had stumbled into a den of wolves.
