She Gives Too Much (GL) - Chapter 7
After finishing her noodles, Chen Xi scanned the QR code to pay, her lashes lowering to conceal the disappointment in her eyes.
It’s so rare to find someone I click with like this.
At least this time, unlike before, I got to say a proper goodbye.
As they stepped outside, Chen Xi turned to Li Zhi. “I’ll take you back to school to get your car.”
Li Zhi’s car was still parked in the campus lot.
When they reached the car, Li Zhi opened the door to let the heat dissipate before bending down to slide into the driver’s seat. She glanced at Chen Xi, who was standing beside the car, having taken a step back. “Get in.”
Chen Xi didn’t understand and remained rooted to the spot.
Why would I get in?
“We’re going somewhere you can truly shine.”
Inside the car, Li Zhi had already set the GPS. The destination: XXXX Grand Hotel.
Chen Xi: “?”
As Chen Xi settled into the passenger seat, the car’s mechanical voice announced:
“Navigating to the xxxx Grand Hotel. Total distance: five kilometers. Estimated travel time: thirteen minutes. Preparing to depart.”
This sounds so… improper.
Was the Young Miss being so cold earlier because she thought the place was too small and lacked privacy, not enough space for us to… you know?
Chen Xi fiddled with her phone and then her canvas bag, unable to resist asking softly, “Are we going to… check into a hotel?”
Li Zhi gripped the steering wheel, glancing at her sideways. “Would you prefer to stay in the car?”
No, not really.
Chen Xi turned to look out the window, suddenly feeling the car was a bit too warm, her face flushing.
With light traffic at midday, they should have arrived four or five minutes ahead of schedule. But the Young Miss drove with unwavering steadiness.
She neither pressed the accelerator nor sped up, her expression as calm as if she were heading to work, showing no hint of urgency.
She even took a business call mid-drive.
Her cool, measured voice discussing work matters beside Chen Xi made it feel like they were on their way to a formal conference, rather than entering the hotel’s underground parking garage.
If Chen Xi hadn’t seen Li Zhi’s other side, she would have truly believed this woman was asexual, devoid of passion or desire.
The room had already been booked online. Li Zhi led Chen Xi to the elevator, which took them directly to the front desk to pick up the room key.
Walking ahead, Li Zhi had a Bluetooth earpiece in her ear, still on a call. Chen Xi, with a canvas bag slung over one shoulder, trailed half a step behind.
The front desk clerk looked up at the pair and asked with a warm smile, “Good afternoon. Would you like to change your reserved deluxe king room to a comfortable twin room?”
Chen Xi blinked, thinking she’d heard a key phrase.
Li Zhi glanced at the front desk, removed her earpiece, and paused her call, her brow furrowing slightly. “Is the room type I originally booked no longer available?”
“It is available, but if you two are here for work or just a short rest, twin beds might be more suitable than a king-sized bed.”
Li Zhi was dressed in a semi-formal white blouse paired with a black A-line skirt—typical business attire—while Chen Xi wore a casual, nature-inspired outfit.
The two looked every bit like a female CEO on a business trip with her personal assistant, especially since Li Zhi had been discussing work matters on the phone just moments ago.
Chen Xi couldn’t help but cover her face with one hand to stifle a laugh.
“No need, I’ll stick with the original room type,” Li Zhi said, putting her headphones back on. After retrieving the room key, she led Chen Xi to the elevator.
The room, located on the fifteenth floor, appeared to be nearly a hundred square meters, its fresh, modern decor making it feel particularly spacious.
Chen Xi immediately noticed the luxurious king-sized bed, its thick, plush mattress looking incredibly inviting.
Beside it stood a beautiful oval bathtub made of white porcelain, elevated on a low platform about five centimeters high. Within easy reach was a coffee table holding a bottle of red wine and two stemmed glasses.
Across the room, a large floor-to-ceiling window flooded the space with natural light, promising a stunning view at night.
Li Zhi, having finished her call, walked over and drew the double-layered curtains, instantly transforming the bright, airy room into a dimly lit, intimate space.
Leaning against the glass, she looked up at Chen Xi. “Is this enough for you to… express yourself?”
“Why do you assume I’m the only one who wants this? Don’t you, senior?”
The lavish king-sized bed spoke volumes about the Young Miss’s intentions.
Chen Xi tossed her phone onto the nearby sofa, slipped off her slippers, and padded barefoot toward Li Zhi. She pressed herself into Li Zhi’s arms, wrapping her arms around her shoulders and giggling softly. “If people didn’t know better, they’d think I was your kept woman, Young Miss, insisting on a king-sized bed like this.”
Chen Xi’s fingertips traced Li Zhi’s collarbone, her slightly upturned eyes meeting hers like soft hooks, gently tugging at Li Zhi’s heartstrings.
“Rich sister, don’t hold back later~”
This was hardly the behavior of a proper, studious girl. She was more like a fox spirit who had cultivated her wiles to perfection.
Li Zhi reached out and pinched Chen Xi’s slender waist, her lashes lowering as she spoke in a soft, detached voice.
“Looks like the bathwater won’t be needed after all.”
The bathwater was still useful, but the tub was both slippery and hard. Kneeling for too long would make her knees ache, though everything else was fine.
Chen Xi, ever delicate, dragged Li Zhi to test the bed’s springiness within five minutes.
Both their phones were on silent, leaving them completely undisturbed.
The five-star hotel’s soundproofing was excellent, allowing them to be even more unrestrained than they had been at the Li family’s old mansion.
By the time Chen Xi woke up, it was already around eight in the evening.
Finding the bed empty, she looked around and spotted Li Zhi in a bathrobe, sitting on the sofa under a warm, yellow reading lamp.
The laptop she’d borrowed from the hotel rested on her lap as she focused intently on work.
Oh-ho!
Chen Xi moved so quietly that Li Zhi wouldn’t have noticed she was awake if she hadn’t already been up.
A soft glow from the overhead light bathed Li Zhi, as if applying a softening filter that smoothed away her usual sharpness and coldness, making her appear exceptionally gentle and approachable.
Chen Xi brushed her hair back over her shoulder, slipped barefoot out of bed, and walked over to Li Zhi. She wrapped her arms around Li Zhi’s neck and gently nibbled her earlobe, looking half-asleep and still wanting to stay in bed.
The Young Miss’s fingers paused mid-typing, her eyelashes fluttering, but she didn’t look up. She murmured, “Want to do it again?”
“No,” Chen Xi said softly, her voice soft and boneless as she leaned her head against Li Zhi’s shoulder. “I’m hungry.”
“If you don’t want to, put some clothes on first,” Li Zhi said, glancing at Chen Xi out of the corner of her eye. “Do you look like you’re about to eat?”
The two had been busy all morning and gotten up early. After their afternoon activities, they had collapsed into bed and slept soundly.
Li Zhi had woken up early, showered, and changed into a bathrobe, but Chen Xi hadn’t done anything.
Now, the warm yellow light fell across Chen Xi’s shoulder, as if gilding her flawless white skin with a soft, warm glow, leaving a faint halo around her.
The hotel offered dinner and late-night snack service. After a moment’s hesitation, Li Zhi unlocked her phone and handed it to Chen Xi. “Order whatever you want.”
Chen Xi wasn’t picky. She ordered a few things she wanted and returned the phone to Li Zhi, telling her to order whatever she liked.
Chen Xi got up from the sofa, casually grabbed a bedspread, and wrapped it around herself, then admired her reflection in the mirror.
Even in a burlap sack, she’d still look stunning.
Satisfied with her undiminished beauty, Chen Xi happily retrieved her phone.
She’d been out of touch all afternoon and evening, and the “Cat Group” had been blowing up her notifications.

Yan Tuo: You just got hired this morning, and you’re already working this afternoon?
Yan Tuo: Which company is this? They confiscate phones and make you work overtime?
Xiao Xiao: Aren’t they your own seniors? They wouldn’t sell Qian Qian, would they?
Yan Tuo: Who could even sell her?
Xiao Xiao: Qian Qian, @Qian Qian, are you coming back tonight?
Chen Xi replied to both of them:
Qian Qian: Nope, not coming back.
She glanced at the timestamp of Yan Tuo’s first message. She must have still been in the bathtub then.
Chen Xi’s peripheral vision caught the still-damp bathtub beside her. She quickly averted her gaze, feeling a little awkward.
The bathtub was truly spacious and comfortable. Filled three-quarters full with warm water, it reached just above their chests when they sat inside.
Steam rose in swirling clouds, dampening their long eyelashes and blurring their vision into a hazy dream.
Soaking in the tub really did melt away the day’s fatigue. Buoyed by the water, their heavy bodies felt weightless and buoyant.
When Chen Xi wasn’t busy, she usually took milk baths at home. Today, however, she opted for a red wine bath.
The ends of her long hair, wet and clinging, draped over her shoulders, with a few damp strands falling beside her face.
Feeling stifled, Chen Xi couldn’t resist leaning over the edge of the tub.
She rested her head on one arm propped against the rim, letting her other arm dangle down. Her slightly warm fingertips unconsciously traced patterns along the smooth, cool porcelain of the tub.
Li Zhi brushed Chen Xi’s hair to the left and gently kissed her right shoulder.
Chen Xi’s lashes fluttered as she glanced at the full-length mirror a few steps away.
This was the first time she’d looked in a mirror without seeing herself.
The Young Miss in the mirror lowered her lashes and slowly tilted her head, her movements carrying an indescribable tenderness and allure.

Xiao Xiao: Great news! The missing person has returned! 🎉
Yan Tuo: She still knows how to reply.
Qian Qian: Ahem~
Qian Qian: Daddy’s got a nightlife, unlike you two. 💅
Xiao Xiao: If we’re talking about that, I’m turning off the lights first.
Xiao Xiao: They’re off. Spill the tea!
Yan Tuo: Aren’t you gaming?
Xiao Xiao: I’ll play after I hear this.
Just as Chen Xi was about to type a reply, she heard a knock at the door. It must be the delivery.
Li Zhi set down her laptop and opened the door to retrieve the food. “Dinner’s here,” she announced.
[Brave Cat Isn’t Afraid of Hardship]
Qian Qian: I’ll tell you all the details tomorrow at the dorm.
Qian Qian: The kind where you pay on the spot.
Chen Xi turned off her phone.
“Aren’t you going to shower first?” Li Zhi asked, looking at her.
Chen Xi pulled her hair forward, sniffed it, then lowered her head to sniff her shoulder, her expression relaxing. “I still smell good. I’ll shower after eating.”
The two sat at a nearby table, eating their takeout.
Chen Xi felt she’d burned a lot of calories today, so she ordered high-calorie foods like fried chicken wings and fries.
Li Zhi’s eating habits were clearly different, but she didn’t comment on Chen Xi’s preferences. She simply ordered a warm milk and mashed potatoes from the same place.
The restaurant was in the mall just downstairs, which explained the quick delivery.
Chen Xi watched Li Zhi sip her milk. “If I’d known you weren’t eating this stuff, I would have ordered something else.”
“Order what you like. You don’t need to cater to my tastes.”
The Young Miss’s milk probably had sugar in it, because her words carried a hint of sweetness.
Chen Xi put on gloves and began gnawing on a chicken wing, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at Li Zhi across the table.
“What are you looking at?”
“Just admiring how cute you are.”
Chen Xi pointed to the corner of Li Zhi’s mouth. “Young Miss, you smell like milk right now.”
Under Chen Xi’s hungry gaze, Li Zhi leaned back slightly, keeping her upper body out of reach to avoid any sudden advances.
The Young Miss really didn’t want a kiss that tasted like fried chicken wings.
She grabbed a tissue and dabbed at her mouth, then picked up her phone. “Chen Xi, what’s your bank account number?”
Chen Xi blinked, looking confused.
She blinked again, then swallowed her food and wiped her lips.
“Young Miss, are you really going to… keep me?”
Chen Xi smiled, but the smile didn’t reach her eyes. “Or will it be like today? Sleep together, get paid?”
What had been a fun, lighthearted moment suddenly felt tainted by the mention of money.
Even the chicken wing in her mouth didn’t taste as good as before.
Talking about money after sleeping together made it feel like she was selling herself.
Chen Xi took off her gloves, rinsed her mouth with water, then suddenly leaned across the table, tilting her head to kiss Li Zhi’s lips, which still smelled faintly of milk.
Li Zhi frowned slightly, looking up at Chen Xi’s closed eyes. Surprisingly, she didn’t push her away.
Chen Xi licked the faint milky scent from her lips and asked, “If I force a kiss like this, how much does it cost?”
“Do I only get paid if you’re satisfied?”
“What counts as ‘satisfied’? Cumming?”
Li Zhi stared at her, speechless.
