Seduced By My Omega Stepsister - Chapter 24
Temporary Marking (Celebrating the VIP launch with red packets)
Fu Zhou knew her pheromones were spiraling out of control. Her mind was in a haze, and accompanied by that was a throbbing pain at her scent gland, slowly spreading throughout her entire body.
Ahead, a boy leading several classmates of similar age walked toward them at a leisurely pace.
Pheromones can only be sensed by Alphas and Omegas. Zhou Heyu looked on with an uncomprehending expression at the pale-faced Fu Zhou and the boys approaching from the front.
“Zhang Meng, let’s go. Somewhere with fewer people…” Fu Zhou cast a subtle glance toward the school gate where students were leaving. For some reason, she didn’t want Chu Xiyu to see her in such a pathetic state.
After turning several corners, the scent of gunpowder-flavored pheromones behind them urgently closed the distance.
Zhang Meng lowered her eyes and led Fu Zhou to pick up the pace.
“What’s going on? Isn’t Chu Xiyu supposed to be leaving school? Why is she leaving now? And those guys following behind…” Zhou Heyu quickly scanned the group in the back.
“I don’t know them. They’re probably looking for trouble.”
Over the years, many people had come looking for trouble with Fu Zhou, mostly male Betas and male Alphas. They felt that since Fu Zhou was a girl, she had no right to be liked by so many girls in the school. Their methods of harassment included, but were not limited to, cornering her after class or after school, and intentionally releasing their pathetic, foul-smelling pheromones in front of her.
Even now, Zhang Meng could sense that the pheromones of the boy behind them were low-level and unstable, clearly belonging to someone who had just differentiated into an Alpha and most likely, one who had suddenly differentiated from a Beta. The immense joy of shifting from Beta to Alpha must have gone to his head, leading him to provoke Fu Zhou right after his differentiation.
Normally, Fu Zhou wouldn’t spare a glance for someone of this level, but right now her gland hurt terribly. The foul-smelling gunpowder pheromones surrounded her constantly, causing irritability and anxiety to crash through her heart.
They reached a dead end. The sunlight was blocked by dilapidated brick houses. Fu Zhou leaned against the wall with her head down, waiting for the boys who were looking for trouble. A few shadows fell, perfectly covering half of Fu Zhou’s face and obscuring her emotions. Only her pale lips and trembling eyelashes told those beside her that she was not feeling well.
The sound of crushing bricks came from ahead. Fu Zhou lifted a pair of jet-black eyes. When she saw the four boys, her brow furrowed imperceptibly.
Ugly.
Fu Zhou wasn’t someone who chose friends based on looks, but among the boys in front of her, the first looked like a Kappa (water imp), the second like a village brute, the third had a nose big enough to tether an ox, and the fourth… was fair-skinned and barely tolerable.
Her gaze circled the group before finally landing on the fourth, the fairer-looking boy.
“What do you want with me?” Because she was unwell, she leaned her back against the wall, her waist slightly curved. When she peeked up at them, she seemed even more nonchalant.
“I’ve heard of the ‘Top-tier Alpha’ title for a long time. My brother just differentiated, and he wants to test his skills against you,” the Kappa-looking leader spoke up first.
Fu Zhou frowned slightly, a flash of confusion crossing her dark eyes.
“Your brother differentiated; he didn’t regress into an ancestor. Why is he acting like a brainless reptile, looking for fights everywhere?”
“I think you’re looking for death!”
The Kappa boy was about to strike when he was stopped by the fair skinned boy. The boy had a smile on his face, but his eyes were small and narrowed, giving off a dark and sinister vibe.
“A contest between Alphas never involves hands… Fu Zhou, I’ve long heard you’re a Top-tier Alpha, but I’ve never seen you release pheromones to defeat anyone outside. Isn’t that a bit… fake?”
Upon hearing this, Fu Zhou nodded seriously.
“Fine. Now that you’re a ‘Top-tier Alpha,’ you can tell everyone you defeated me.”
After saying that, she moved to walk past the four boys.
Beside her, Zhou Heyu whispered, “What’s a ‘contest between Alphas’?”
“Don’t know. Never heard of it.”
In high school, there were small cliques that only accepted Alphas or groups that only Alphas could join. Those people had a natural sense of superiority and invented many bizarre terms. However, whether it was a group or a clique, Fu Zhou had never joined a single one.
“Wait.” Behind her, a sinister voice coiled around her like a ghost. Simultaneously, a crushing pressure of uncontrolled, gunpowder scented pheromones descended.
Fu Zhou’s body swayed slightly. Her eyes darkened as she turned back. “Releasing pheromones in public is prohibited. Have you read the Alpha Handbook?”
“Handbooks are for restricting the weak. We Alphas are born stronger than ordinary people. Why should they restrict us?”
Wow. So passionate. So brain-dead.
“Idiot.” The corners of Fu Zhou’s lips twitched upward by about two pixels.
“You don’t dare release pheromones but you dare to curse? Today, I’m going to ruin your gland!”
Fu Zhou took a step back, barely dodging the Kappa’s fist. Before she could react further, as the wind from the punch brushed past her cheek, Zhou Heyu caught the fist with her palm.
“Holy crap, that actually hurts. Who is this Kappa?”
“An athlete. The one on the track who walks on his toes wearing those multicolored fruit-patterned shoes.”
Fine.
When it came to fighting, the three of them were never afraid of anyone especially Fu Zhou, who at her peak could take on four or five people alone and barely get her clothes dirty.
But today…
Zhou Heyu kicked away the brute who lunged at her. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw her invincible best friend get punched in the corner of the mouth by the fair skinned Alpha, slamming into the wall and failing to get up for a long time.
She hurried over, quickly pulled Fu Zhou up, and shielded her. The moment she touched Fu Zhou’s forearm, she knew something was wrong.
Fu Zhou’s arm was scorching hot. It felt like she had a fever.
Even the usually capable Zhang Meng was struggling today, pinned into a corner. Zhou Heyu held Fu Zhou with one hand and pulled Zhang Meng over with the other, protecting them behind her like a hen with her chicks.
Zhang Meng leaned against the wall, panting slightly. She turned her head, and her gaze darkened when she touched the hot, burning breath of the youth.
Fu Zhou was being stimulated by the Alpha pheromones; she was likely going through a premature second differentiation. During differentiation, even a Top-tier Alpha is extremely fragile. Without medical equipment or the soothing pheromones of an Omega, Fu Zhou might not make it through and could be ruined right here.
A flash of hesitation crossed Zhang Meng’s eyes. Her fingers slowly reached for the scent suppressing patch tightly covering the back of her neck.
Just as she was about to tear it off, a powerful scent of roses descended, calming the plum wine pheromones in the air that had been so anxious.
At the end of the alley, a girl stood elegantly. Her light-colored gaze landed on the hand that was about to tear the suppressor patch, and a subtle emotion flashed through her eyes.
“An Omega? Yo, here for Fu Zhou?” The fair-skinned boy squinted at the suddenly appearing Omega. “She’s a cripple who can’t even use pheromones to suppress people. Why do so many people like her?”
Chu Xiyu released a small wisp of pheromones to surround and soothe Fu Zhou. Hearing the boy’s words, her light-colored eyes filled with a bit of frost as she looked over.
“Fu Zhou hasn’t differentiated yet. Those who like her have never liked her for the title of ‘Top-tier Alpha.’ Only people like you would use Alpha pheromones to bully others.”
To the boy, Chu Xiyu’s words practically laid their inferiority out in the open.
“Fine. If you want to do this the hard way, we’ll show you today who is actually a Top-tier Alpha worth liking!”
The surroundings were too dull, except for that bit of unstable rose pheromone lingering by her side.
Fu Zhou opened her eyes dizzily, seeing only a light-colored shadow moving nimbly among the four dark figures. In just a few seconds, she had knocked them all to the ground.
Then, she turned back, looking across the mess on the ground from a distance. The moment their eyes met, Fu Zhou saw Chu Xiyu’s pale face.
She was so hot. In every sense of the word.
She leaned toward the place where the rose scent was strongest, as if grasping for a life-saving water source. Inside her mouth, something seemed to be growing out of nothing, it was itchy and agonizing. She desperately wanted to bite something…
Beside her, Chu Xiyu held the incoherent person in her arms. While soothing her with pheromones, she called for an ambulance. As Fu Zhou rubbed against her, Zhang Meng and Zhou Heyu had already driven the four guys out of the alley.
In this narrow path, it became so quiet that only she and Fu Zhou remained.
She had marked Fu Zhou before, so right now, Fu Zhou’s pheromones had a huge impact on her. The scent of plum wine kept drilling into her gland, as if wanting to stay in her body and cover her from head to toe.
Chu Xiyu panted slightly. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Fu Zhou’s two newly developed, sharply pointed marking fangs.
Fu Zhou’s differentiation was abnormal. If they waited for the ambulance to arrive, followed by routine blood tests and IV drips, she would definitely suffer permanent damage.
Chu Xiyu closed her eyes and took a long breath, trying to suppress the restlessness in her heart.
“Fu Zhou.” She looked up into Fu Zhou’s dark, puppy-like eyes, and then tore off the suppressor patch from the side of her neck.
She gently stroked Fu Zhou’s hair, then used a bit of strength in her arm to press Fu Zhou against the side of her neck.
When the hot breath hit that extremely sensitive patch of soft flesh, Chu Xiyu’s breathing hitched. She bit her lower lip to keep from letting out a shameful sound.
“Fu Zhou… in a moment, mark me… a temporary marking. Don’t… don’t go too deep, okay?”
She tried her best to make her voice sound normal, though she wasn’t sure if Fu Zhou in this state could understand.
With every rise and fall of their intertwined breaths, the air became saturated with the scents of roses and plum wine. Fu Zhou struggled to analyze the meaning of Chu Xiyu’s words. After a long time, she lowered her eyes and carefully took a sip-like lick of that sweet, soft flesh.
The arms holding her suddenly tightened, and damp breath hit her ear. She paused, and just as she was about to lift her head, she was pressed down by a hand.
The damp sweetness was forced to swirl on the tip of her tongue, and the warmth under her palm trembled with a soft moan.
“Hurry… up.”
Fu Zhou’s brain sluggishly translated those words, like a jammed machine finally being oiled and slowly starting to turn. After a long while, she lowered her head to sniff gently, found the spot where the rose scent was thickest, and bit down with restraint.
The marking fangs embedded shallowly into the softness, and plum wine pheromones were continuously injected.
Amidst the surging pleasure, Chu Xiyu tilted her head back slightly, one hand gripping Fu Zhou’s collar. Minutes later, she used all her strength to pull Fu Zhou away from her neck.
The youth, tasting forbidden fruit for the first time, looked confusedly at the person in her arms who was almost drenched. She stuck out her tongue and carefully licked away a teardrop from the corner of the other girl’s eye.
Chu Xiyu looked up. Her light-colored eyes were tinged with red starting from the corners, and then they filled with water. Tear after tear filled her eyes, like cold dew weighing down a branch before falling continuously, warm and pooling in Fu Zhou’s palm.
She was awake.
Her gaze shifted from the primal instinct of a beast to a gradual daze, and finally, as if she had finally realized what had happened, her eyes filled with heat, looking as if they were soaked by the tear Chu Xiyu had dropped into her palm.
When the ambulance arrived, Chu Xiyu had already cleaned herself up and helped the doctors get Fu Zhou into the vehicle.
Because Zhang Meng had specifically emphasized on the phone that it was a Top-tier Alpha being induced into differentiation, two of the three doctors who came were Alphas.
“You should come along too.” One of them glanced at Chu Xiyu, a flash of complexity in his eyes, and then helped her into the ambulance.
She sat beside Fu Zhou. On the back of her neck was her old, reapplied suppressor patch.
In the moment she closed her eyes, a doctor handed her a brand new one.
“Use this.”
Chu Xiyu nodded and accepted the patch without being overly sensitive.
She knew that the blend of pheromones around them was too obvious, it couldn’t be hidden from the doctors, nor from Fu Li and Chu Wen, who would arrive later.
Whether it resulted in a scolding or simply allowed her and Fu Zhou to continue their current relationship, a temporary mark would only last for a few months anyway. If she had really left Fu Zhou alone and something had gone wrong, the responsibility on her shoulders would have been much heavier and far worse.
Before losing consciousness, she suddenly remembered the sight of Fu Zhou’s reddened eyes after her mind had cleared.
Was she sad?
It was probably just a physiological reaction after marking someone
Fu Zhou was placed in an isolation room. With a dwelling needle in her hand, she sat dazed at the head of the bed.
Outside the transparent glass door, Zhou Heyu and Zhang Meng stood, speaking to Fu Zhou through a small opening.
“Those guys have been arrested. Fu Zhou, how are you feeling now?”
Fu Zhou lifted her eyes slightly. Just as she was about to speak, her tongue brushed against those two sharp marking fangs. The thick scent of roses instantly filled her mouth.
“Holy crap, Fu Zhou, you have marking fangs! Why are these things so sharp? Can they be retracted later? Will you bite yourself?”
Zhang Meng narrowed her eyes slightly and, without hesitation, reached out to cover Zhou Heyu’s mouth.
Marking fangs are essentially half of an Alpha’s reproductive organ, the injection of pheromones relies almost entirely on them. They only emerge during moments of intense emotion normally, they remain retracted. Therefore, marking fangs are actually very sensitive. Based on existing data, Alphas with sharp, well-shaped marking fangs generally possess a higher rank.
Zhou Heyu seemed to realize something as well, and a hint of red quietly crept onto the tips of her ears.
Among those present, she was the only Beta. This meant both of her best friends would likely have fragrant, soft Omegas in the future. Now that they were away from that group of stinking men, Zhou Heyu suddenly felt that life was going a bit smoother.
“Zhang Meng.”
“Hmm?”
“Can you look for a fragrant, soft female Omega in the future?”
Zhang Meng turned her head. The girl beside her seemed to be genuinely considering this issue for instance, what if she found a male Omega instead?
“Do I have to find an Omega?” Zhang Meng lowered her gaze, a trace of an ambiguous smile lingering in her slightly upturned phoenix eyes.
Zhou Heyu’s heart suddenly skipped a beat, and she turned her head away.
Seriously, they were getting more good looking by the second. Although one of her sisters was a bit troublesome and the other a bit cold, their faces were truly flawless. She wondered who would be lucky enough to end up with them.
A pale shadow appeared at the end of the corridor. A face so cold and fair it looked fragile flickered before Zhou Heyu’s eyes. Those light-colored eyes, shimmering like water, looked over from a distance.
Zhou Heyu’s newly calmed heart pounded strangely again. Standing the two of them together, she even felt Fu Zhou was getting the better end of the deal.
Chu Xiyu was beautiful in a way that was gentle and cold like the last snow of winter, a thin, light layer that, once blown away by the wind, revealed the next spring.
