Seduced By My Omega Stepsister - Chapter 16
She and Chu Xiyu.
Fu Zhou took a seat right on the dividing line between Class A and Class B.
Normally, this area remained empty. Both Class A and Class B of the Foundation Program were filled with “chosen ones” who had looked down on each other since their freshman year. Now, Fu Zhou sat there stiffly, surrounded by a group of girls who had followed her lead.
It looked like a provocation.
The high-spirited boys from Class B couldn’t stand it. They marched toward the area, and in an instant, the once-empty edges became crowded. The two classes, which usually kept to themselves like water and oil, were now packed tightly against the boundary line.
Fu Zhou looked at the growing crowd around her with a head full of questions. Her gaze searched the room, finally landing on a distant, thin, and cool silhouette.
Chu Xiyu seemed to notice her gaze and tilted her head. Her pale eyes met Fu Zhou’s briefly before moving away, as if she were looking at an irrelevant stranger.
Am I a stranger?
Fu Zhou lowered her eyes, suddenly remembering this morning. When Chu Xiyu woke up in her arms, those pale eyes had been shimmering with a hint of moisture.
She wasn’t a stranger, she was family.
With that thought, the girl who had been feeling a bit wilted felt her lips curl up again. She stood up, vaulted over several seats, and headed toward Chu Xiyu.
Behind her, Zhou Heyu’s panicked voice called out: “Fu Zhou, that side is Class B!”
“Who assigned the seats anyway?” Fu Zhou’s voice was airy, carrying a trace of unearned joy.
For these general education lectures where two classes combined, the student union hadn’t strictly partitioned seats. However, because there was almost zero communication between the two classes, everyone naturally huddled together. Over time, Class A took the left, Class B took the right, and two columns of seats were left in the middle as a “no-man’s land.”
Deciding this made sense, Zhou Heyu quickly packed her things and dragged the rest of the group along to follow Fu Zhou to the right. They stopped by Chu Xiyu’s side, the three of them sitting around her as the center point.
The previously quiet atmosphere was forcefully invaded by a cheerful scent of green plum wine. Chu Xiyu didn’t even need to look up to know who had arrived.
She took off her earphones, turned her head, and met a pair of pitch-black, puppy-like eyes.
“Do you want to sit with me?” She didn’t ask why. It was as if, with the added status of being “sisters,” everything Fu Zhou did could be explained away.
Fu Zhou nodded without speaking, appearing exceptionally well-behaved.
As the lecturer walked in, Fu Zhou fell silent. For the first time, she stared seriously at the large screen, her back held perfectly straight.
The people beside them whispered.
“Fu Zhou usually sits there looking so lazy. As expected of an older sister, she’s got her totally under control.”
Zhang Meng glanced briefly at Zhou Heyu but said nothing.
She could understand Zhou Heyu. The last little girl who had a crush on Zhou Heyu had sent her a “red bean dice” (a traditional romantic token), and Zhou Heyu almost used it to make soup.
Zhang Meng felt a strong gaze from behind. She looked back and saw the “straight girl” whom Fu Zhou used to openly crush on, staring intensely in their direction.
Zhang Meng narrowed her eyes. The moment their gazes met, her already sharp eyes flashed with a warning.
It would be best if she didn’t come over to disturb Fu Zhou.
The teacher was mostly covering common knowledge. Although Fu Zhou didn’t care much for it, having been immersed in this world for so long, she knew it all by heart.
What she was waiting for was the part coming up, the mutual influence of Alpha and Omega pheromones.
In the air, the scents of rose and green plum wine intertwined, like a tart wine infused with a hint of floral fragrance.
She didn’t need to look at Chu Xiyu by the scent alone, she could determine exactly where she was and how close.
On the next slide, the words PHEROMONES appeared in large, bright letters. Fu Zhou sat up straighter, her previously wandering gaze focusing.
“Now, I will talk to you about pheromones, a concept that may be unfamiliar to many of you. It is a special hormone secreted by glands unique to Alphas and Omegas. Pheromones between Alphas repel each other, while those between Alphas and Omegas attract.”
“Pheromone concentration distinguishes the rank of Alphas and Omegas. High-level individuals can resist the pull of pheromones.”
“Alphas and Omegas have specific ‘heat’ or ‘susceptibility’ periods. During this time, they can choose the comfort of a partner or an injection of suppressants.”
“The gland is their most fragile and sensitive spot. Except for a partner, no one else is allowed to touch it. Once an Alpha matures, they grow marking fangs. Furthermore, a mature Alpha will have a natural protective instinct and a sense of ‘obedience’ toward their Omega.”
“Aside from the marking fangs, an Alpha’s gland is actually more fragile than an Omega’s. An Omega can, at specific times, inject their own pheromones to perform a ‘Reverse Mark.’ However, the pheromones left by a reverse mark cause irreversible changes in the Alpha. For example, they become more dependent on the pheromones of the Omega who marked them, more sensitive to her scent… Meanwhile, the Alpha’s pheromones will autonomously protect the Omega who marked them, and the Omega’s scent will linger around the Alpha for more than half a year.”
Every word pointed toward an established fact.
An Omega’s reverse mark was proof of their most intimate, inseparable connection.
So, what about her and Chu Xiyu?
What were they?
Sisters who had accidentally broken all the definitions on the very first night? Or were they each other’s…
The tips of her ears began to burn.
She let out a soft breath, and then, summoning nearly all her courage, she turned her head toward the place where the rose scent was strongest.
She saw only a pair of eyes that were dazed for a moment before turning into an expression of confusion.
