Running Away While Pregnant with the Villain’s Child - Chapter 15
“Are you certain you want to trade a month of bone-shattering pain for something like this?”
The little girl looked down disdainfully at the man kneeling before her, feeling slightly speechless. To put it bluntly, this fellow was utterly ruthless when it came to sacrificing his parents’ health or fortune.
Yet, the moment his own life was on the line, Li Dan became incredibly stingy.
“I want it! I’ll trade a month of pain to make Luo Xingran’s impression of Pei Junzhuo turn into the cold-blooded and ruthless version from the original plot!”
“After this transaction, you will only have one left. Once the next trade is complete, I will no longer answer your summons.”
“I have long since repaid what I owed you. You’d best look out for yourself. Here’s a friendly tip: for this next month, you’d better stay in bed.”
With that, the little girl turned around and vanished into thin air.
“Ah!” Li Dan, still kneeling on the ground, tried to crawl up but was immediately hit by a wave of agonizing pain surging from every corner of his body.
The intensity of the pain forced a piercing scream from his lungs.
Passersby walking past the dark alley were startled by the shrieks. Naturally, a few curious souls stepped inside to see what was happening.
“Are you alright?” A man approached the kneeling Li Dan and lightly tapped him on the shoulder.
An even more violent surge of pain radiated from his shoulder; Li Dan felt as if his entire body was splitting apart.
“Aaaaaahhhhh!” Li Dan let out an even more tragic scream, causing the man to recoil two steps in fear.
“Hello, 120? I’m at the corner alley of 19 Minhua Road. Someone seems to be injured.”
“He keeps screaming and looks unable to move. I barely touched him, and he started yelling even louder.”
Hearing the man call for an ambulance, Li Dan felt a glimmer of hope. What if he went to the hospital and got a painkilling injection? Wouldn’t that exempt him from this month of agony?
That way, he could escape the pain and still have Luo Xingran return obediently to his side.
As long as Luo Xingran feared Pei Junzhuo, he could step into her life in the guise of a protector.
Perhaps because the fantasy was so beautiful, Li Dan even felt the pain in his body subside slightly.
Meanwhile, the fast-asleep Luo Xingran felt a sudden chill wash over her.
In her dream, she saw herself turning to pull Pei Junzhuo in as a shield to reject Li Dan.
“You say you like me? Aren’t you going to show some sincerity?”
Pei Junzhuo’s face drew closer and closer; cold sweat broke out all over Luo Xingran.
This was the villain—the ruthless antagonist who had destroyed countless families!
Even though she knew this in her heart, Luo Xingran knew she should be afraid of him.
And yet, as she looked at that face, her heartbeat raced alongside the surging sense of danger.
It’s terrifying… I actually think this ruthless villain is… incredibly handsome!
Was she afraid?
Luo Xingran had to admit, she was. Paragraphs from the original novel flashed through her mind over and over again.
She couldn’t not be afraid; it seemed she had to be afraid.
But as she watched that face inching closer to hers, she couldn’t hide her racing heart.
In this moment, extreme danger and charm seemed to be one and the same.
“What the—! Why is she so hard to hypnotize?”
Luo Xingran faintly heard a child muttering. She looked toward the source of the sound.
But there was nothing there but a blank void. Luo Xingran found it strange.
Just as she was about to ask Pei Junzhuo if he had heard it, a massive balloon suddenly slammed into her.
“Ah!”
With a sharp cry, Luo Xingran jolted awake from her dream.
