- Chapter 64 (THE END)
“Wifey, dinner’s ready.”
Hearing Wen Tang’s voice from outside the study, Ye Youyi couldn’t help but smile sweetly. Facing the camera, she said, “That’s all for today’s stream—my wife is calling me for dinner. You guys should go eat too.”
After the livestream ended, the chat was still exploding with excitement.
KissMyYeYe: Wow! So sweet! I’m melting!!! Real wives are always the best ship!!!
DontRunAway: By the way, did anyone else notice how nice her wife’s voice sounds? That kind of deep, sultry tone, ahhhh!!! She must be such a gorgeous Alpha!
XiaoXiaoSmiles: Exactly! I think so too! But Ye Ye’s been married for over three years and still hasn’t shown her wife on stream once. She must really want to protect her. Ugh, too sweet.
When Ye Youyi stepped into the kitchen, she saw Wen Tang in casual clothes, an apron tied around her waist, plating dishes with an easy smile. Ye Youyi’s lips curved as she walked over, taking the plate from her hand. The aroma hit her, and she couldn’t help exclaiming, “Wow! Smells amazing!”
She leaned in and pecked Wen Tang’s cheek. “Your cooking just keeps getting better and better!”
Wen Tang ladled out the last bowl of soup, then joined Ye Youyi at the table. With a teasing glint in her eyes, she asked, “Which skill are you complimenting exactly?”
Ye Youyi blinked, confused. “Hm?”
But when she saw the mischievous curve of Wen Tang’s lips, realization dawned. Biting her lip, she picked up a rib and popped it into Wen Tang’s mouth, pretending to pout. “You’re awful! Can’t even eat quietly for one meal?”
Wen Tang leisurely chewed the rib, spat out the bone, and wiped her fingers before replying with mock seriousness, “Well, this won’t exactly shut me up, will it?”
Ye Youyi: “…”
She finally understood—however aloof and restrained Wen Tang used to be, marriage had turned her into a shameless flirt!
After dinner, they cleaned up together. Wen Tang wiped her hands and walked into the living room.
Ye Youyi was curled up on the couch, replying to fans’ comments on her phone one by one.
Taking off her apron, Wen Tang came up behind her and wrapped her arms around her waist, pressing a kiss to her shoulder. “Wifey, how much longer are you going to be busy?”
Feeling the warmth of Wen Tang’s breath against her neck, Ye Youyi squirmed a little and patted her head. “Just a minute.”
Wen Tang leaned closer, peeking at the comments she was replying to, and frowned slightly. “Why are they calling you ‘wifey’ too?”
Once Ye Youyi hit send and put down her phone, Wen Tang cupped her face and captured her lips in a deep kiss. Between breaths, she murmured, “You’re my wife.”
The room filled with the scent of ripe pears. Ye Youyi’s soft moans escaped as her nightgown slipped off one shoulder, her skin glowing pale under the light.
Wen Tang’s burning lips trailed down her neck, stopping at the back where the Omega’s gland throbbed faintly, releasing a sweet milky aroma.
Her tongue brushed over it.
Ye Youyi trembled all over.
Since their wedding, she’d already been permanently marked by Wen Tang. She was hers, completely. Just a little touch under that enveloping pear scent was enough to make her weak all over.
But just as Wen Tang’s fangs extended—Ye Youyi suddenly winced.
She pressed a hand to her stomach, her voice trembling. “Mmm. Wen Tang, I—I don’t feel so good.”
Wen Tang froze mid-action, instantly forcing herself to stop. She drew a sharp breath and pulled back, worry flooding her as she saw Ye Youyi’s face turn from flushed to pale.
“What’s wrong? Where does it hurt? Did I hurt you?”
Ye Youyi bit her lip, sweat beading on her forehead. “My stomach, it hurts.”
Without another thought, Wen Tang grabbed the nearest clothes, helped her get dressed, then scooped her up into her arms and hurried out the door.
As they made their way to the car, Ye Youyi’s soft, pained gasps tore at her heart. Wen Tang’s voice shook as she tried to reassure her, “Hold on, we’ll be at the hospital soon!”
She buckled Ye Youyi into the passenger seat, floored the accelerator, and sped through the streets.
While driving, she called Wen Qi to have a doctor ready. Her knuckles were white on the steering wheel, eyes flicking to Ye Youyi’s pale face every few seconds.
Outside the hospital room, Wen Tang paced anxiously. Finally, the doctor emerged.
“How is she?”
Recognizing the heiress of the Wen family, the doctor smiled gently. “Don’t worry, Miss Wen.”
Wen Tang’s voice trembled. “What happened to her? Why the sudden pain? Can it be treated?”
The doctor tried to suppress a laugh. “Perhaps you should go in and hear it from your wife yourself. She said she wants to tell you personally.”
At those words, Wen Tang felt her blood run cold.
She pushed open the door with trembling hands. On the bed, Ye Youyi lay pale and quiet, and Wen Tang’s throat constricted.
What kind of illness would she have to say herself? Could it be something incurable?
Wen Tang sat by her side, carefully taking her hand. “How do you feel? Does it still hurt?” Her voice was hoarse with fear.
Ye Youyi blinked at Wen Tang’s even paler face and gave a small smile. “The doctor already checked me. It doesn’t hurt as much now.”
“What, what did they say it was?”
Ye Youyi tilted her head, puzzled by Wen Tang’s panic. But then, remembering what the doctor had told her, her lips curved into a radiant smile. She took Wen Tang’s hand and placed it gently on her abdomen.
“The doctor said, I’m pregnant.”
“What?”
Wen Tang froze, her mind going blank.
“Pregnant?”
Ye Youyi nodded shyly. “Mm. The doctor said it’s been about a month.”
Wen Tang’s palm rested on her stomach—though she could only feel the soft rise beneath the blanket, it was as if there was already a tiny heartbeat there.
Thump, thump, thump.
Each beat made her chest tighten.
“You idiot! Your wife’s pregnant with your kid and you’re just standing there like a statue?” The long-silent system voice in her mind finally shouted.
That snapped her back to reality.
Looking at Ye Youyi’s glowing, happy face, Wen Tang’s eyes filled with tears. Overwhelmed, she pulled her into a fierce hug. “We’re going to be moms! We’re really having a baby!”
Ye Youyi laughed softly, hugging her back. “Mm, we’re having a baby.”
They stayed wrapped in each other’s arms for a long, blissful moment before Wen Tang remembered. “Wait, your stomach hurt earlier—was that because of the baby?”
Ye Youyi blinked and blushed. “Yeah, the doctor said the baby’s still small, and being marked can hurt it, so,”
Ah. So, it was because she’d almost gone too far earlier—her little one got upset and made Ye Youyi suffer for it!
Instantly, Wen Tang’s affection turned into mock outrage.
She frowned at Ye Youyi’s belly. “Already fighting for attention before you’re even born, huh? You’re going to be a real handful.”
Ye Youyi laughed and stroked her belly, giving Wen Tang a playful look. “What are you saying? There’s no such thing as fighting for attention.”
Then she hooked her arms around Wen Tang’s neck and kissed her softly. “No matter what, even with the baby, you’ll always be my one and only.”
The light glowed warm and tender around them.
Wen Tang held her close, gazing at her with infinite gentleness. “I love you. You’re my only one too.”
