Reborn a Scummy Alpha, Happily Ever After with the Movie Queen - Chapter 26
The manager froze at her words. Rubbing his hands nervously, he asked tentatively, “Excuse me, miss, have you made an appointment with Miss Bai in advance?”
Under the dim light, Wen Tang’s lips curved into a smile that wasn’t quite a smile. “Didn’t you just say I could enter any private room I wanted?”
That tone made even the smooth-tongued manager instantly realize that the guest before him probably had some bad blood with Miss Bai. He lowered his head, eyes darting around before he finally stepped aside and led Wen Tang down the corridor. “Miss Bai is inside. I, I’ll leave you to it once we get there.”
They stopped outside a tightly closed door. The manager was about to knock when Wen Tang’s cold gaze stopped him in his tracks. The warning in her eyes made him lower his hand immediately. With quick wit, he took out a barely used spare key and unlocked the door from the outside.
As the door swung open, he quietly stepped aside, watching Wen Tang stride in.
He wiped the sweat off his forehead, thinking miserably, What kind of mess is this?
Silverlight had only ever issued two black gold cards—both sent directly to the Wen family. That overbearing Alpha must be one of them.
And since the Wen and Bai families didn’t get along, he could only hope that the two powerhouses wouldn’t use his little establishment as a battleground.
The sound of the door opening startled everyone inside. The previously noisy private room instantly fell silent as heads turned toward the door in shock.
A tall female Alpha walked in. Her slightly wavy hair cascaded down her back, with a few strands falling across her forehead, accentuating the cold allure of her fox-like eyes—arrogant, dangerous, and untouchably elegant.
Everyone froze at the uninvited guest, as if someone had hit pause, their faces blank with confusion.
Wen Tang’s eyes swept over the chaotic scene, her expression growing even colder. When she saw the girl in the center—her hands and feet tied—her fists clenched tight as she strode forward.
But before she could get close, a female Alpha snapped out of her daze and blocked her path. “Who are you? What do you want?”
Catching sight of the limited-edition designer suit on Wen Tang’s body, the woman’s tone instinctively softened.
The others, roused by her voice, frowned and stepped forward—several clueless Betas glaring at her. “How did you get in here?”
The first Alpha hurriedly intercepted them, subtly signaling for them to back off.
But Wen Tang ignored them completely and walked straight toward where Ye Youyi was bound.
The icy pressure of an Alpha’s pheromones filled the air, suppressing everyone around. No one dared stop her.
The petite Omega was tied up, her mouth sealed with tape. Her dress was torn in several places, revealing bruises on her arms and legs. Wen Tang quickly took off her jacket and draped it over her.
The girl’s once-bright eyes were now full of fear. Even as Wen Tang knelt beside her, she instinctively shrank back, trembling as if terrified.
That reaction made Wen Tang stop mid-motion. Her brows softened, and her voice dropped to a gentle murmur. “It’s me. Don’t be afraid.”
The familiar voice made Ye Youyi freeze, staring blankly at the person before her.
Wen Tang reached out her hand again, speaking softly, “It’s me.” Seeing recognition flicker in Ye Youyi’s eyes, she didn’t hesitate any longer—quickly untying the ropes before bending down to scoop her into her arms.
She turned coldly toward the door, only to have several Betas step in front of her.
“Who do you think you are? You can’t just take her away without permission!”
Wen Tang had long since lost her patience. Without another word, she kicked the man blocking her path aside and strode toward the exit.
“Wait.” A lazy yet venomous female voice rang out behind her. “Who gave you the nerve to take that little bitch away right in front of me?”
That last phrase made Wen Tang laugh coldly. She turned her head slightly.
A spoiled-looking Omega rose from the sofa, snapping her fingers sharply. “No one leaves this room.”
So, this was Bai Yuqing. Wen Tang took note of her face, then kicked aside another Alpha who tried to block her way before continuing toward the door without looking back.
Bai Yuqing, seething at the sight of the arrogant Alpha, snatched up a wine bottle and smashed it against the table, gripping a jagged shard as she rushed forward.
But before she could get far, a group of Silverlight staff members suddenly poured in, blocking the doorway.
The moment Wen Tang’s figure disappeared, the obsequious manager entered, plastering on a smile as he deftly snatched the shard from Bai Yuqing’s hand. “Oh dear! How could we let Miss Bai handle something so dangerous herself?
Allow me to take care of that for you.”
Annoyed by his ingratiating tone, Bai Yuqing slapped him hard across the face. “Who was that woman? How dare she take away someone I meant to teach a lesson! Is she tired of living?”
The manager’s cheek stung, but he kept his forced smile. “We, we don’t know, Miss Bai. We just saw her come in earlier and thought she was a friend of yours, so we didn’t stop her.”
“Don’t just stand there! Go find her! Bring her back to me!” Bai Yuqing screamed, smashing another bottle. The rest of the room lowered their heads, trembling in fear.
Chaos reigned behind her, but Wen Tang didn’t look back. She carried the frail girl in her arms and strode out of Silverlight.
Outside, the city lights were blinding, casting a pale glow over Ye Youyi’s bloodless face.
The cool night breeze made her shiver. Curled against Wen Tang’s chest, she greedily inhaled the familiar pear-blossom scent on her body, biting her lip hard to keep from crying out loud.
Sensing her trembling, Wen Tang lowered her chin, brushing it gently against the girl’s hair. “It’s over now. We’re out.”
When they reached the car, Wen Tang tried to set her down in the passenger seat, but Ye Youyi only clung tighter to her waist, refusing to let go. Wen Tang bent closer, whispering softly by her ear, “You seem hurt. Let me take you to a hospital, okay?”
But Ye Youyi’s arms only tightened further. “No! I don’t want to go anywhere! Don’t leave me—please don’t leave me.”
The fear in her voice made Wen Tang’s heart ache. Fighting back the lump in her throat, she gently patted her back. “Alright. I won’t leave you.”
She held the girl close again, closed the car door with her foot, and quickly flagged down a taxi. Once seated in the back seat, she gave the driver the address of her apartment.
The neon lights of the city blurred past the windows. Inside the cab, the noise of the world faded. Wen Tang held the trembling Omega in her arms, whispering quiet words of comfort.
After a long ride, they finally stopped in front of her apartment building.
Back inside the familiar home, Wen Tang flicked on every light, remembering that Ye Youyi was afraid of the dark.
She placed her gently on the sofa, but the girl still clung to her waist, burying her face in Wen Tang’s shoulder, too afraid to move.
“We’re home now,” Wen Tang said softly. “Let me take a look at your injuries, alright?” She couldn’t bear to speak sternly, afraid it would make Ye Youyi even more frightened.
Ye Youyi shook her head, her voice breaking with sobs. “I don’t want you to leave me!”
“I won’t. I’m right here.” Wen Tang cupped the girl’s tear-streaked face, her heart twisting painfully at the sight.
The tears rolled down in heavy drops, stinging Wen Tang’s chest like molten lead. She brushed them away with her thumb, murmuring, “Don’t cry. It’s okay now.”
Comforted by that familiar warmth, Ye Youyi’s panic slowly began to ease. In the safety of this place, surrounded by Wen Tang’s gentle scent, the sharp ache of her injuries finally made itself known.
She glanced at the bruises on her arms, then at the wounds on her legs. The memories of what had happened flashed before her eyes, making her shut them tight as fresh tears fell.
Wen Tang wiped them away again. “I’ll get the first-aid kit. Let me take care of you, okay?”
Ye Youyi looked up through her tears, nodding weakly. “Hurry back.”
Wen Tang retrieved the medical kit and returned quickly. Taking out an alcohol swab, she glanced at Ye Youyi’s red-rimmed eyes before gently lifting her skirt hem.
Her legs were covered in bruises, some cuts still oozing faint blood.
Wen Tang’s movements were careful and light, her touch slowing even more when Ye Youyi flinched from the sting.
When she finally finished treating the wounds, Wen Tang frowned, still uneasy. “Are you sure you don’t want to go to the hospital?”
Ye Youyi lowered her head, her voice trembling. “I don’t want to go anywhere. I just want to stay with you.”
That quiet plea made Wen Tang’s heart tremble. She couldn’t help but reach out and gently stroke her cheek. “Alright. I’ll stay with you.”
She remembered that Ye Youyi loved cleanliness—she could never sleep without a bath. After running hot water in the bathroom, Wen Tang carried her in gently. “It’s okay, the wounds aren’t too deep. After you wash up, I’ll help you apply some more medicine.”
Just as she turned to leave, Ye Youyi grabbed her hand tightly, her eyes glistening with fragile hope. “I, I’m scared.”
Wen Tang’s heart softened completely. She reached out to rub the girl’s head. “I’ll be right outside. If you get scared, just talk to me, alright?”
Closing the door behind her, Wen Tang leaned back against the wall, listening to the faint sounds inside.
She let out a quiet sigh, keeping silent watch over the girl on the other side.
