Reborn a Scummy Alpha, Happily Ever After with the Movie Queen - Chapter 16
The evening breeze drifted in through the half-open window, carrying with it the faint scent of pear blossoms and warm milk. The intoxicating sweetness filled the air, almost lulling Ye Youyi into surrender—until she abruptly came back to her senses.
Forcing herself to ignore the heat lingering on her lips, she turned her head slightly to the side.
She managed to dodge the Alpha’s burning kiss, but the Alpha simply followed the motion, pressing her lips instead against the sensitive curve of Ye Youyi’s neck.
Soft, lingering kisses trailed down her delicate skin, tracing the elegant line of her throat.
A shiver ran through Ye Youyi’s body at the strange, overwhelming sensation. She hurriedly raised her hand to block the Alpha’s feverish lips—only for a warm, wet tongue to flick against her palm, sending a tremor of tingling heat
through her body. Her face flushed crimson as she struggled to push the Alpha’s head away, her voice trembling and tender.
“Wen Tang, calm down a little.”
Through the haze of confusion, Wen Tang seemed to catch the sound of Ye Youyi’s soft, coaxing tone. Her eyes fluttered open halfway, the corners glistening with tears and a dazed, sultry gleam.
She pouted faintly, whining like a pitiful, oversized puppy. “It hurts, my head hurts, my neck hurts too.”
As she spoke, she tried to burrow back into the Omega’s soft shoulder, but Ye Youyi held her firmly at bay. Wen Tang’s lips trembled in complaint, her tone pleading and pitiful. “I just want to kiss you.”
Ye Youyi was already struggling against the Alpha’s pheromones, and hearing her murmur those near-begging words only made her cheeks burn hotter.
She bit down on her lip, forcing herself to stay rational. In a soft, coaxing voice, she tried to soothe the restless Alpha. “Be good. You need to see a doctor first. After that, I’ll let you kiss me, okay?”
She thought to herself that Wen Tang, clearly delirious now, wouldn’t remember any of this later anyway.
Thankfully, the Alpha blinked at her, stared blankly for a moment, and then nodded obediently. “Okay. After I see the doctor, I’ll kiss you.”
Ye Youyi stared into those bright, glassy eyes, half-wondering if Wen Tang was pretending just to take advantage of her. But after watching closely for a while, she realized that the Alpha’s eyes, though clear, were unfocused.
Good. So, she really wasn’t in her right mind.
“Alright, then. Be good—sit up for me, okay?” Ye Youyi coaxed her as if soothing a child.
Wen Tang blinked sluggishly, braced her hands on the mattress, and, after great effort, managed to roll over and lie flat on her back.
Freed from her grasp, Ye Youyi rubbed her sore wrist and sat up. Seeing the Alpha curl up again, she quickly grabbed her phone and called the hospital.
After hanging up, she reached out to poke the Alpha’s thin back. “Hold on a little longer, the ambulance is on its way.”
Wen Tang, dazed and feverish, turned onto her side, tugging at the buttons of her blouse. “Hot.”
With that movement, a stretch of pale, flawless skin came into view. Seeing that any lower would expose far too much, Ye Youyi hastily grabbed her hands. “Okay, okay—it’s not hot anymore. If you unbutton it again, you’ll end up catching a cold.”
But the Alpha’s lips wobbled, her eyes reddening with frustration. Her usually cool voice turned small and wounded. “You’re bullying me.”
Ye Youyi froze, utterly flustered by the sight of the Alpha acting so coquettish.
Her eyes were clouded with restrained desire, looking heartbreakingly fragile. Ye Youyi’s heart softened despite herself. She lifted her hand to gently pat the Alpha’s head, stroking it soothingly. “I’m not bullying you. You’re the best girl, alright?”
Wen Tang caught her hand and rubbed it lightly between her palms. “I want a hug.”
If Ye Youyi hadn’t known for sure that Wen Tang was completely out of her mind right now, she would have thought this shameless Alpha was deliberately flirting with her.
“Wen Tang, are you trying to be a pervert?” She slipped her hand free and shot her a look.
What she didn’t realize was how stunning she looked in that moment—eyes shimmering with mixed fear and confusion, lashes trembling like butterfly wings, every line of her face painted with unwilling allure. Her warning came out more like a helpless tease than actual reproach, stirring another wave of desire in Wen Tang’s chest.
The Alpha licked her lips and started to lean in again, but Ye Youyi pressed a hand to her forehead, keeping her away. “You were never this desperate before. How can a bit of pheromone from another Omega make you lose control like this?”
Thankfully, a sharp knock came from outside the door just then.
Ye Youyi guessed it must be the medical staff. She quickly pushed Wen Tang back onto the bed, got to her feet, and hurried to open the door.
As night deepened, the sterile hospital room was quiet except for the rhythmic drip of an IV. After hanging a sedative for Wen Tang, the doctor turned to the Omega waiting nearby with a faint frown.
“She took a drug that induces susceptibility,” he said, clearly disapproving. “You young people really shouldn’t mess with that kind of thing. If she had overdosed, this wouldn’t have ended so lightly.”
He continued sternly, “Although she’s been treated, since she didn’t pair with an Omega during the episode, she’ll be weak for the next few days. You should take good care of her.”
After delivering his instructions, he shook his head and left the room, muttering as the door closed behind him, “Young people these days, no self-control at all.”
Misunderstood and indignant, Ye Youyi took a deep breath before turning toward the bed. Sitting down on the stool, she glared at the sleeping Alpha and muttered, “This is all your fault. Now everyone thinks I was the one who drugged you.”
The Alpha’s sleep didn’t seem peaceful—her brows were faintly furrowed. Ye Youyi had more complaints ready on her tongue, but seeing her looking so frail and feverish, she swallowed them back.
Besides, what was the point? Wen Tang couldn’t hear her anyway.
She reached out to smooth the crease between the Alpha’s brows, her voice soft. “After this, try to be more careful. Don’t let people fool you again.”
Her mood grew heavy at the thought.
Lin Shuang had deceived Wen Tang—but hadn’t she done the same? She had always worn that sweet, pitiful mask before her, taking advantage of her compassion… In the end, she felt she might be even more contemptible than Lin Shuang.
Her fingers brushed gently over Wen Tang’s smooth, fair cheek. Her tone carried a trace of melancholy. “If you ever find out what kind of person I really am, will you still be this kind to me?”
She sighed. “Forget it. That’s a problem for another day.”
Once filming for Moon Spirit Chronicle was over, they probably wouldn’t cross paths again. What happened tonight—she would just erase it from memory.
After all, when Wen Tang woke, she wouldn’t remember a thing.
Wen Tang awoke to the sound of chirping birds.
She blinked open her eyes, the morning light forcing her to rub them before she could make sense of her surroundings.
The faint smell of disinfectant hung in the air. Taking in the sterile decor, she realized she was in a hospital.
The door was slightly ajar, and voices drifted in from outside.
Her keen hearing picked out Ye Youyi’s voice, along with a man’s—likely the doctor.
Moments later, the door opened, and a visibly exhausted Ye Youyi walked in.
The Alpha on the bed stared at her with wide, clear eyes. Instinctively, Ye Youyi pressed her lips together, her mind flashing back to last night’s fevered kisses. Her heart skipped wildly as she twisted her fingers and approached.
“You’re awake?”
Wen Tang blinked at her flushed face. “You brought me to the hospital?”
So, she really didn’t remember.
For some reason, Ye Youyi’s earlier embarrassment twisted into irritation. Glancing at the almost-empty IV bag, she replied flatly, “You took a drug that induced a susceptibility episode. When you got back to the hotel, Lin Shuang tried to take advantage of you. I happened to pass by, scared her off, and brought you here.”
Wen Tang pressed a hand to her still-aching head, trying to recall. She vaguely remembered encountering Lin Shuang after dinner. After Ye Youyi intervened, everything went blank.
Maybe she’d blacked out.
She didn’t dwell on it, instead offering a sincere smile. “Thank you for last night. I really owe you one.” Then, noticing the faint dark circles under Ye Youyi’s eyes, she added with guilt, “Did you stay up all night taking care of me? Do you have scenes to shoot today? I hope I didn’t mess up your schedule.”
Her concern was genuine, and it softened Ye Youyi’s heart a little.
The Omega gazed at her quietly, then suddenly leaned closer.
Her warm breath brushed Wen Tang’s nose, making the Alpha flinch backward in surprise. “W-what are you doing?”
