Reborn a Scummy Alpha, Happily Ever After with the Movie Queen - Chapter 12
Li Zheng was quite satisfied with her and didn’t notice the fleeting trace of discomfort on her face. “Go have a meal first. Once you’re done, it’ll be time to get your hair and makeup done.”
Ye Youyi obediently agreed. She was about to fetch a boxed meal when, at the corner, a woman suddenly blocked her path.
Relying on her Alpha height advantage, the woman stood in front of her, eyes full of contempt as she looked her up and down. “So that’s how it is. I was wondering how you managed to land the role of Xian Ruo. Turns out you cozied up to Director Li.” She leaned closer, deliberately inhaling Ye Youyi’s scent. “Tell me—how many times have you slept with her?”
The words were crude and cutting. But Ye Youyi didn’t want to waste her breath. She took a step back, drew a steady breath, and gave a faint, detached smile. “Director Zhang, not everyone enjoys playing those dirty backroom games like you. As for Director Li—everyone in this industry knows what kind of person she is. Do you really think a few baseless slanders from you will convince anyone?”
“Still pretending?” Zhang Yuan’s gaze lingered boldly, her eyes fixed on Ye Youyi’s strikingly beautiful face. Clicking her tongue, she sneered, “Well, let’s see what happens when I spread the word. Think you’ll still have a place in this circle?”
Noticing the subtle shift in Ye Youyi’s expression, Zhang Yuan’s tone turned teasing, almost sultry. “Unless, you spend a few nights with me. Then maybe I’ll keep this little secret to myself. What do you say?”
Ye Youyi let out a short laugh. “All you’ve got is groundless slander. Why should I be afraid?” She no longer bothered to mask her distaste. Lifting her head, her gaze turned cold as ice. “The real question is—aren’t you worried? You’ve coerced so many Omegas in this industry. What if one day, they all band together and bring you down?”
The Omega who usually appeared gentle and pliant now radiated a chilling, unyielding aura. The shift only fueled Zhang Yuan’s twisted desire to conquer her. “You’re still too young,” she sneered. “Those Omegas and I—we simply use each other. I enjoy their bodies; they use their bodies to get what they want. It’s a fair trade.”
She leaned in further. “And I know you want to climb higher too. Otherwise, why bother cozying up to a director for a mere supporting role.”
Her words were abruptly cut short when Ye Youyi, clearly impatient, interrupted. “Since you’ve admitted it yourself—that you’ve forced yourself on countless Omegas—then you’d better watch your back.” She lifted the phone in her hand, the recording app still running. “I just want to focus on acting. I have no interest in your filth. So keep your distance and stop provoking me.”
With that, she slipped the phone back into her pocket, dropped the cold indifference that weighed down the air, and turned to leave.
Zhang Yuan’s face twisted. She hadn’t expected Ye Youyi to be recording the entire time, coaxing such damning words from her own mouth.
She spat viciously at the ground as she glared at Ye Youyi’s retreating figure. “Damn it! Just you wait—you’ll regret this someday!”

Wen Tang hadn’t expected to be assigned once again as an assistant to a Xinghua Entertainment celebrity. Fortunately, Lin Shuang turned out to be a gentle-tempered actress, much easier to deal with than the detestable Zuo Xiaojiao she’d worked with before.
Today was Lin Shuang’s first day on set, which meant Wen Tang’s schedule was about to get hectic. Still, in the back of her mind, she couldn’t help but wonder—after a few days apart, had Ye Youyi’s leg fully healed yet?
After escorting Lin Shuang to hair and makeup, Wen Tang lingered outside, glancing around the set. She remembered that today was also Ye Youyi’s first day joining the crew. How was she doing now?
What’s with you constantly thinking about Ye Youyi? Can’t bear to part with her? The system popped up in her mind, seizing the chance to tease. It’s only been three days since you last saw her, and you’re already pining? Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for her.
Wen Tang nearly jumped in place. “What nonsense! She’s my only friend here. Of course I should be concerned about her.”
“Right, right—you’re just friends. Perfectly normal to care,” the system drawled mockingly. “But if you’re so worried about her, why not go check on her yourself?”
Rolling her eyes, Wen Tang retorted, “She’s in the production now. I’ve got my own job. I can’t just run off to see her whenever I like.”
The system chuckled smugly. Heh, funny you should say that. Don’t you know Lin Shuang joined the very same crew— Moon Spirit Chronicle? She’s playing the fourth female lead. Didn’t you know?
“What?”
Wen Tang really hadn’t known.
Only last night had Grandmother Wen informed her that she’d continue working under Xinghua Entertainment. She hadn’t even had the chance to ask about her new employer’s upcoming projects—just that she needed to escort Lin Shuang to the set early this morning.
So Lin Shuang was in Moon Spirit Chronicle all along?
That meant, she’d get plenty of chances to see Ye Youyi.
Just then, the dressing-room door creaked open behind her. Lost in thought, Wen Tang turned instinctively and froze.
A woman stepped out slowly, hair dark as ink, styled in a simple bun adorned with a single jade magnolia hairpin. The rest of her long locks cascaded down her back, swaying softly with the breeze. Her light blue gauze gown was plain but elegant, her pale skin glowing with a porcelain luster. Two loose strands framed her delicate face, brushing against her shoulders as she moved, swaying in rhythm with her steps.
Wen Tang blinked. When the woman lifted her skirt slightly and tilted her head to look at her, she finally came back to her senses. “Ye Youyi?”
She’d just been thinking of her, and now here she was in front of her eyes? Was this a dream?
“Wen Tang? What are you doing here?” Ye Youyi’s eyes lit up with surprise.
Staring at her bright smile and vivid features, Wen Tang swallowed hard and instinctively took two steps back before explaining, “I’m working as Lin Shuang’s assistant now. That’s why I’m here.”
Ye Youyi had already exchanged a few polite words with Lin Shuang earlier, but she hadn’t realized Wen Tang was her assistant.
“I see.” A flicker of discomfort passed through Ye Youyi’s heart at the thought of Wen Tang working alongside that attractive Omega she’d seen just now. Still, her happiness quickly overtook the feeling—because it meant she’d get to see Wen Tang more often on set.
“Xiao Ye, time to shoot the costume stills! Hurry over!” Qiu Qiu’s voice called from not far away.
Ye Youyi glanced toward her assistant, then turned back to Wen Tang, eyes reluctant to part. In a soft, lilting voice, she said, “I have to go take my stills now. See you later.”
As she moved past her, the long silk ribbon on her sleeve brushed lightly against Wen Tang’s fingertips.
Carrying the lingering fragrance with her, Ye Youyi drifted away. Wen Tang quietly curled her fingers into her palm, her gaze fixed on the petite figure retreating into the distance.
When Ye Youyi reached Qiu Qiu, there was an unmistakable glow on her face—something her assistant rarely saw. Narrowing her eyes, Qiu Qiu glanced toward the Alpha still watching from afar. “What’s going on? Don’t tell me you’ve started flirting with that Alpha again?”
Ye Youyi swatted her hand. “Don’t talk nonsense! That’s the Alpha who saved me, the one I told you about.”
“Oh.” Qiu Qiu muttered, then asked sourly, “And just seeing her makes you this happy?”

Author’s Note:
Some readers have asked why Wen Tang, as the family heir, is still working as a lowly assistant to minor celebrities. The explanation for this is laid out more clearly in later chapters, but since so many have wondered, I ended up adjusting the outline to reveal Grandmother Wen’s reasoning earlier.
As for the “scummy Alpha” label—it isn’t because of how the original Wen Tang treated Ye Youyi. In the original storyline, she married Ning Xu, then completely neglected her, pouring all her energy into pursuing Ye Youyi. In the end, she even brought down the Ning family for Ye Youyi’s sake.
So the “scum” lies in her betrayal of her marriage vows and her failure to take responsibility for her wife.
