Pregnant With the Villain Boss’ Baby - Chapter 5
“Luo Ling, I’m truly heartbroken that you didn’t come to rescue me,” Yun Mu sighed, lounging lazily on the sofa with her hair a mess.
Today, she wasn’t wearing her usual form-fitting dress. Instead, she was drowning in a set of men’s oversized suit trousers that clearly didn’t fit.
A whole day had passed, and Yun Mu had somehow managed to forget that she’d lost her mimicry bracelet. She had waltzed into the Cloud World as her “true self,” and the result?
A riot even bigger than yesterday’s. It seemed people had been lying in wait for her. If she hadn’t practiced her combat skills recently, she’d have been flattened into a pancake by the crowd.
She could have teleported away, but she had concerns. Without a mimicry bracelet, she’d be hounded the second she logged on. This wasn’t a problem she could outrun forever. Just thinking about the swarm of fans that chased her into the agency building this morning gave her the chills.
Fortunately, the girl at the front desk was sharp. The moment Yun Mu burst through the doors, the girl slammed the locks shut, sealing the mob of fans outside.
“From what I saw, you were having a grand old time,” Luo Ling said, arching an eyebrow. When she had arrived at the lobby, she’d found a disheveled Yun Mu in oversized men’s clothes, leaning against the glass and blowing winks and flying kisses to the frantic fans outside. The resulting screams had been loud enough to make the entire building vibrate.
Luo Ling honestly wondered: if Yun Mu kept provoking them, would the virtual walls of the building eventually collapse under the pressure?
Despite her thoughts, Luo Ling had quickly dragged the “Film Queen” away from the scene. She worked there, after all, and didn’t want to get caught in the crossfire. Which led them to the current scene in the private lounge…
“Sister Mu, do you want to borrow my bracelet?” Tong Wenwen hopped over. Her round, chubby little body made the sofa dip and spring back so much that Yun Mu had to reach out and steady her.
“Stop jumping, cutie. Any more and the sofa is going to cave in.”
“Really?” Tong Wenwen’s eyes went wide. She leaned over to check if the sofa was actually collapsing, but her foot slipped.
“Eek—!”
A hand caught Tong Wenwen mid-air, pulling the puffed-up, bristling rabbit into a firm embrace.
“Wuuu… Luo-Luo…” To a rabbit, the height of the sofa was like a skyscraper. Tong Wenwen huddled into Luo Ling’s arms, her ears drooping flat against her head as she nuzzled for comfort.
Luo Ling rubbed the rabbit’s back soothingly while shooting a murderous glare at Yun Mu—clearly pinning the blame on her. Yun Mu just held up her hands, looking innocent. I didn’t even do anything!
“So, what’s the plan for today? I thought my next job wasn’t for another three days.” Yun Mu stood up and wandered over to the bar to brew a coffee. She felt she needed something to settle her “shattered” nerves—her logic was ironclad.
If Luo Ling knew what she was thinking, she’d wonder how one person could be so shamelessly thick-skinned.
Pushing up her glasses, Luo Ling sat down and got straight to the point. “Director Peng said if you accept the lead role, he’d like you to attend their casting session this afternoon. He said it’s fine if you’re busy, but since I know you’re just slacking off, I went ahead and said yes for you.”
Yun Mu: …Are you even human? I just survived a riot and you’re throwing me back into the fire?
“Yay! Work!” Tong Wenwen had recovered from her fright. Her rabbit head bobbed in Luo Ling’s arms, her voice full of excitement.
“You little traitor. You really want me to work that badly? Isn’t a vacation better?” Yun Mu tapped Wenwen’s nose. The rabbit sounded like she wouldn’t get paid if Yun Mu didn’t work—even though Yun Mu paid her quite well!
“Sister Mu is at her most beautiful when she’s working!” Tong Wenwen declared with the absolute devotion of a hardcore fan.
Yun Mu looked at Luo Ling, whose face was currently as dark as ink. Seeing your “other half” confessing their love to the star you manage… Yun Mu could only imagine the size of the shadow over Luo Ling’s heart. She almost burst out laughing.
Luo Ling narrowed her eyes, easily sensing Yun Mu’s schadenfreude. Maybe I should find a few more jobs for a certain someone. She clearly has too much free time.
Yun Mu: Wait. Why do I suddenly feel like I’m being plotted against?
“I can go,” Yun Mu said, stretching her body and leaning against the bar. “But I have something on tonight, so I’ll need to leave early.”
“Oh? An arrangement?” Luo Ling asked, intrigued.
“Mmhmm… a very important day that needs celebrating,” Yun Mu said with a light chuckle, her fingers drumming on the counter.
Luo Ling watched her closely. The agency actually wanted her to ask Yun Mu to help boost some of their newer talents—essentially, a “CP” (couple pairing) marketing stunt. When Yun Mu signed her contract, she had explicitly refused such things, and the agency had compromised because of her talent and looks.
Now, looking at that rare, genuine smile on Yun Mu’s face, Luo Ling decided it wasn’t even worth asking. She’d save that for another time.
Standing up, Luo Ling handed Yun Mu a new bracelet. “Time to go.”
“Hey! Why is the mimicry skin for this one a pink pig?!”
An indignant scream echoed through the lounge.

Back in Reality.
As the school gates opened, Yun Lan spotted a familiar car and Yang Chen waiting nearby.
“Huh? Sister Yang, you came to pick me up?” Yun Lan waved goodbye to her Alpha buddies, steered clear of the little Omegas who were trying to cling to her, and ran over.
“Your mother asked me to.” Yang Chen rubbed the girl’s head and opened the car door.
“Are we going somewhere special?” Yun Lan asked as she scrambled inside. Yang Chen didn’t answer; she just made sure the girl was buckled in and shut the door.
The inconspicuous hovercar pulled away from the school.
Neither of them noticed a pair of eyes watching them from a distance—eyes filled with shock and intense curiosity.
“Hey, Old Lu! You won’t believe what I just saw!” A female Alpha, holding the hand of a little Omega girl, spoke excitedly into her comms while snapping a few quick photos of the retreating car.
There was a long silence on the other end.
“Hello? Old Lu? You there?” The female Alpha scratched her head. Having worked together for so long, she’d forgotten her friend was a cold, humorless sort who usually had zero interest in gossip. Just as she was about to hang up…
A magnetic voice drifted through the comms—cold and calm like a mountain spring. It was the kind of voice that commanded attention while keeping everyone at a distance.
“I see.”
“Huh?” The female Alpha blinked. Before she could ask what that meant, the line went dead.
She stared at her device as if she’d seen a ghost. Did… did she just change her personality? Since when is she interested in this stuff? She looked back at where the car had disappeared, the image of the child’s face flashing in her mind. It couldn’t be… could it?
“Cousin, can we go home? I’m hungry!” the little Omega girl whined, tugging at her hand.
“Right, right! Let’s go.” The female Alpha scooped her up and headed toward their own car.
