Pregnant With the Villain Boss’ Baby - Chapter 4
“Whew… I guess I still have to take on jobs. What a pain…”
Yun Mu reappeared outside the teleportation ring she had entered earlier. She tossed her hair and gave a weary shrug. In truth, while she loved acting, she absolutely detested high-intensity schedules and preferred a life of leisure.
In the past, she had worked herself to the bone to support herself and her little “bun,” Yun Lan. But now that she had saved up plenty of money, she just wanted to slack off and have fun.
Hiss… Suddenly, the sound of collective gasps drifted from nearby. Yun Mu raised her head and looked around. Uh oh.
The people surrounding her were staring with eyes that could only be described as predatory—like dogs seeing a prime bone. Their gazes were fierce, hungry, and full of longing, making Yun Mu’s skin crawl.
Wait, something’s wrong. How could they recognize me? Yun Mu looked down at her slender, snowy-white hands… Where is my bracelet?!
She looked up and flashed her signature radiant smile to the crowd, punctuating it with a playful wink.
“Hello everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful day.”
With that, she hoisted her skirt and darted through a gap in the crowd. The people “stunned” by her wink stood frozen for a heartbeat before exploding.
“Aahhh! It’s Film Queen Yun!”
“Holy crap, I actually saw the legendary Yun Mu in the flesh!”
“Where? Where? Let me see too!”
In an instant, the crowd outside erupted into a riot. The sheer force of the stampede caused the virtual ground of the Cloud World to tremble. Yun Mu glanced back at the sea of people chasing her—Alphas, Omegas, and Betas were all mashed together alongside all sorts of bizarrely-shaped avatars. It looked like a stampede of wild beasts.
The smile on Yun Mu’s face stiffened as she sprinted for her life. Mercy! If I’d known, I wouldn’t have tried to show off. You can only play with fire so many times before you get burned!
In the lounge, Tong Wenwen and Luo Ling could feel the tremors of the riot even from their high-rise vantage point. They watched a disheveled figure fleeing below, trailed by a massive tidal wave of people. It didn’t take a genius to know who it was.
“Luo-Luo, aren’t you going to help Sister Yun?” Tong Wenwen’s little paws were pressed against the glass, her large eyes squinting downward as if trying to burn a hole through the window.
“How am I supposed to help her? Besides, she brought this on herself.” Luo Ling nearly rolled her eyes. That woman spent every day trying to slack off; seeing her run for her life was a well-deserved lesson.
Besides, what could one person do against thousands—no, tens of thousands—of fans? The numbers were still growing. If Luo Ling went out there, she’d be trampled into digital dust.
Fortunately, while the fans were fanatical, they couldn’t do anything truly out of line without being forcibly kicked out of the Cloud World and facing severe penalties. Luo Ling knew Yun Mu was a “sly fox”—she’d never actually let herself lose out.
While Luo Ling and Wenwen were chatting, Yun Mu had already disconnected from the Cloud World and returned home.
Opening her eyes, she saw the familiar ceiling of her bedroom. She sat up, smoothed her messy hair, and stretched with a helpless shake of her head.
“Sigh… looks like I’ll have to go buy a new mimicry bracelet. What a hassle.”
She stood up and headed for the basement. It housed a small, private training room—an expensive luxury that she had only been able to afford after making a fortune as a star.
It was common knowledge that Alphas should begin training early to develop their strength and combat prowess. In the past, Yun Mu could only have Yang Chen take Yun Lan to public training centers. But since moving into this villa, Yun Lan had her own space to train without the crowds.
Bang, bang, bang…
Yun Mu pushed open the heavy reinforced door and looked inside.
Yun Lan was wearing a tank top and shorts, throwing punches at a combat droid that was slightly taller than her. Sweat rolled down her focused face, but her bright eyes were filled with the unmistakable thrill of battle—the innate combative nature of an Alpha.
Yun Mu leaned against the wall, feeling its cool, slightly soft texture. The walls were specially designed to withstand the immense power of an Alpha. The droid she was fighting was fully intelligent, with adjustable height, strength, and speed—it moved with none of the stiffness of a machine. These high-tech features were exactly why such a room cost a king’s ransom.
CRACK!
Yun Lan slammed the droid into the ground with a perfect shoulder throw. Simultaneously, a series of beeps echoed through the room.
“Training complete. Rank: A. Grade: S.”
Yun Mu raised an eyebrow. An SS-rank Alpha was truly something else; her combat ability at this age was already at the top of her peer group. She supposed she should be grateful for the excellent genes.
“Mommy!” Yun Lan dashed over on her short legs. She had noticed Yun Mu entering long ago, which was why she’d finished off the droid so quickly.
“Not a bad performance,” Yun Mu said, patting her head despite the sweat-dampened hair.
“Hehe, that was nothing!” Yun Lan puffed out her chest, her little face brimming with pride. A stray tuft of hair on her head bobbed as she shook her head like a victorious little rooster.
“Yes, yes, you’re the best. Now go get cleaned up.” Yun Mu pinched her cheek playfully.
“Ehh~ But I want to go one more round!” Yun Lan pouted, throwing a few more punches that whistled through the air.
“Aren’t you supposed to be studying?” Yun Mu asked, one eyebrow arched.
“Urk…” Yun Lan froze. She started twiddling her fingers and mumbling under her breath, “Fighting is way more fun than reading. And the stuff at school is so easy, I can learn it just by glancing at it…”
“Baozi, I’ve told you many times. If you only know how to fight and neglect everything else, how are you going to get into the First Military Academy? The people there are masters of both the pen and the sword. You’ll be a laughingstock—an SS-rank Alpha who couldn’t pass the entrance exams?” Yun Mu tweaked her nose, shaking it back and forth.
“I ged it already (I get it already)…” With her nose pinched, Yun Lan’s voice came out in a muffled, milky whine.
“Good. Now go.” Yun Mu let go and tapped the girl’s nose. Yun Lan ran to a section of the wall and pushed, revealing a small, integrated shower room.
“I should probably get some practice in too,” Yun Mu murmured. She opened another door to reveal a wardrobe of athletic gear. She quickly changed into a black, skin-tight training suit.
As she was pulling on her gloves, Yun Lan stepped out of the shower, drying her hair with a towel. “Mommy? You’re going to train too?”
She rarely saw Yun Mu practice. The tight suit perfectly accentuated her mother’s flawless figure. Yun Lan thought proudly that if she posted a photo of her mom like this online, the fans wouldn’t just go crazy—they’d multiply by the millions.
“Staying fit is the basic duty of a star,” Yun Mu replied as she began her stretches.
“Can I stay and watch?” Yun Lan’s eyes darted around as she scampered over with a mischievous grin.
“Don’t think I don’t know what’s going on in that little head of yours.” Yun Mu flicked her forehead. Trying to use me as an excuse to avoid studying? You’re too green for that, kid. “Go. Now.”
“Wuu…” Yun Lan rubbed her forehead and grumbled her way out of the room.
Watching the door close, Yun Mu sighed. Who does this kid take after? Hmph, definitely not me! But then she thought of the other gene contributor and rubbed her nose. Fine, maybe it’s just a mutation.
She turned to the controller and set the difficulty to Rank B. For a “fragile” Omega, being able to fight at a B-rank level was exceptional—top-tier, even.
“Beep, beep… Training start.”
A droid roughly her height appeared. It lunged at her instantly.
Shua—
Yun Mu dodged with effortless grace. Unlike the brutal, direct style of an Alpha, she moved like a butterfly. Her normally seductive eyes sharpened with focus as she evaded attacks, striking back only at the droid’s weakest points.
Sweat began to bead on her forehead, trickling down her neck and vanishing into her collar. Her breathing grew heavy, but her eyes shone with an excitement that rivaled Yun Lan’s.
Thud. Thud. Thud. The sound of fists meeting metal continued to echo through the training room.
