Pregnant With the Villain Boss’ Baby - Chapter 3
Yun Mu charged into the building and stepped into a blue ring swirling in the corner of the lobby. Her figure dissolved into a streak of blue light and vanished.
Shua— When her feet touched the ground again, she was in a lounge. It was a space designed for pure comfort: a massive circular sofa, a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows lined with lush greenery, and a bar nearby that wafted the rich aroma of coffee.
Curled up on the giant sofa was a large white rabbit. With its short, fluffy front paws, it was frantically gnawing on a cookie. It was roughly the same size as Yun Mu’s fox form, but while Yun Mu was “round” due to her fluffy fur, this rabbit was genuinely fat.
One look at the chocolate cookie in its mouth and the mountain of wrappers on the table made it clear exactly where that spare tire came from.
The rabbit didn’t startle at Yun Mu’s sudden appearance. In the Cloud World, teleportation rings were everywhere, allowing people living light-years apart to interact. To Yun Mu, this was essentially a 3D long-distance call—actually, it was leagues ahead of anything her original world could dream of.
Lifting a face covered in cookie crumbs, the rabbit blinked its watery red eyes at Yun Mu. Then, holding up a cookie with a sweet smile, a soft, youthful voice drifted from the little bunny’s mouth.
“Sister Yun, do you want a cookie?”
“Little Sister Tong Wenwen, even if the food in the Cloud World tastes great, you’re going to eat yourself to death at this rate,” Yun Mu said tonelessly, licking her paw.
When you purchased an animal avatar “skin,” certain instinctive movements came naturally—like Yun Mu’s paw-licking or Tong Wenwen’s constant need to hold food with both paws.
As for the eating—though the Cloud World was virtual, the sensory integration was nearly perfect, allowing users to experience taste. However, you could never actually feel full. You could make your virtual avatar fat, but it had zero impact on your physical body in the real world.
Because of this, many people used the Cloud World to indulge their cravings. Aside from combat, the food industry was the most lucrative business in the virtual realm.
Even knowing this, Yun Mu couldn’t help but roast Tong Wenwen every time they met. The girl ate as if she could never be satisfied. Virtual food wasn’t cheap, and Yun Mu suspected that every credit Wenwen earned went straight into her digital stomach.
Despite being a foodie herself, Yun Mu preferred the weight and reality of actual food over virtual simulations.
“I will not! Besides, the stuff here just tastes too good,” Tong Wenwen grumbled. She wiggled her chubby body, brushed the crumbs off her paws, and wiped her mouth.
“Where’s Luo Ling?” Yun Mu asked, glancing around for the familiar figure.
“Luo-Luo went to the upper floors to grab some files. She said she’d be back in a bit.” Tong Wenwen swept the trash into a nearby bin and waddled over to Yun Mu like a newborn baby.
Catching the faint scent of an Omega, Yun Mu didn’t push the rabbit away. She never minded the closeness of a fellow Omega. In the Cloud World, pheromones were suppressed in safe zones to let everyone relax; you could tell someone’s gender, but not the specific intensity of their rank.
Yun Mu reached out a paw and patted the rabbit’s head. The fur was fragrant, soft, and addictive to the touch.
Suddenly, a sharp gaze swept over them.
Turning her head, Yun Mu saw a woman standing where she had just teleported in.
The newcomer was another great beauty, though of a completely different type than Yun Mu’s sultry allure. She wore a perfectly tailored black-and-white women’s suit. Her features were cool and sharp, and though hidden behind glasses, the occasional flash of sternness in her eyes was unmistakable. Atop her head stood a pair of pointed black wolf ears, and a fluffy wolf tail trailed behind her. Combined with her “career woman” aura, she was the textbook definition of a cold, forbidden beauty.
“Luo-Luo!” Tong Wenwen’s little body shot out from under Yun Mu’s paw. With a speed that defied her girth, she hopped to the woman’s feet. After a few bounces, she was swept up into the woman’s arms.
Cradling the rabbit like a baby, the woman’s slender fingers gently kneaded the white rabbit’s pinkish belly, causing Wenwen to let out a blissful purr.
“Morning, Luo Ling,” Yun Mu said, swishing her tail. Seeing how comfortably Wenwen settled in, she couldn’t help but marvel. Only Luo Ling could hold that fat rabbit with such natural grace; otherwise, the pair would look incredibly mismatched.
“Strictly speaking, it’s not morning anymore,” Luo Ling said flatly, glancing at Yun Mu.
“Well, in the Cloud World, the sun is still up.” Yun Mu shrugged. She reached for her fox forearm, uncovering a device hidden beneath the red fur.
Shua—
The fox vanished. In its place was a sultry enchantress in a simple, red off-the-shoulder dress, lounging lazily on the sofa and exposing her snowy-white shoulders.
“Whoa!” Tong Wenwen’s squinted eyes snapped wide. As she gasped, a suspicious trail of translucent liquid began to leak from the corner of her mouth. Luo Ling’s face darkened, and she immediately slapped a hand over the rabbit’s eyes.
Tong Wenwen protested with a frantic wiggle, her tiny paws trying to push away the “evil hand” blocking her view. But how could her strength compare to an Alpha’s?
Luo Ling’s expression only grew grimmer at Wenwen’s reaction.
Yun Mu ran a hand through her hair. As if sensing the situation wasn’t chaotic enough, she flashed her most perfect, heart-stopping smile. She lowered her head slightly, her thick lashes fluttering as her eyes curved into crescents, and blew a wink directly at Tong Wenwen.
Having just managed to pry a gap between Luo Ling’s fingers, Tong Wenwen caught the full force of that gaze.
Pffft! The white fur turned crimson as the fat white rabbit suddenly erupted with a dual nosebleed, the red droplets slowly dripping onto the floor.
The atmosphere turned dead silent.
“Pfft… hahahaha!” Yun Mu couldn’t hold it back. She burst out laughing, her “peaches” swaying with her movements, which only made Wenwen’s nosebleed flow faster.
“…Yun Mu…” Luo Ling growled through gritted teeth. She grabbed a tissue and, with a face like thunder, began wiping the blood off her little rabbit.
“Why so serious?” Yun Mu twirled a lock of hair around her finger, watching the disheveled bunny with a lazy, playful grin. “Oh, I can’t help it. Wenwen is my biggest fan and my assistant. Of course I have to give her a little fan service.” She blew Wenwen another flying kiss.
“Wooo! Sister Yun!” Tong Wenwen writhed in Luo Ling’s arms, looking like she wanted to break free and launch herself at Yun Mu.
“Behave.” Luo Ling pinched the scruff of Wenwen’s neck. It was the most effective way to calm a small animal, though she rarely used the move as it could be uncomfortable.
But Wenwen was acting like a fanatic. Luo Ling shot a look at Yun Mu—if the woman weren’t an Omega, she would have thrown a punch by now.
Once the rabbit was cleaned up and resting quietly on Luo Ling’s lap (though her eyes still darted toward Yun Mu like a rabbit eyeing a particularly juicy carrot), Yun Mu finally got down to business.
“So, what’s on the schedule?”
“I’ve accepted several ads from top companies for you. Also, Director Peng has specifically requested you for the lead in his new film. Read the script first before you decide. If you don’t like it, I have plenty of others for you to choose from.”
When it came to work, Luo Ling became the consummate professional. She pushed up her glasses and slid several manila envelopes over to Yun Mu.
Coming to this world, Yun Mu’s life trajectory hadn’t changed much aside from the “accident” five years ago. She had looked for a way to make a living in the Cloud World and ended up being scouted by its largest entertainment agency.
The reason it all happened in the virtual world was efficiency. The Cloud World allowed for things impossible in reality—the most important being teleportation. It eliminated the need for everyone to travel for days between star systems just to get to a set. Everything was filmed in the virtual world, using its infinite range of settings, and only released to the real world once finished.
“A Director Peng film? The quality is always guaranteed. We’ve worked together plenty of times.” Yun Mu flipped open an envelope and began skimming the script.
Luo Ling watched her. The Yun Mu who was working was a far cry from the mischievous woman who had just teased Tong Wenwen. Now, she sat with her head slightly bowed, her thick lashes blinking occasionally as a few strands of hair slid over her shoulder. She turned the pages slowly, her sultry aura replaced by a quiet, focused serenity.
Placing a hand over the little rabbit’s face—which was starting to drool again—Luo Ling had to admit that Yun Mu was the most beautiful Omega she had ever seen. Provided you ignored certain personality quirks…
“Alright, let’s go with Director Peng,” Yun Mu said, snapping the script shut.
“I’ll contact him then. Tomorrow you need to—” Before Luo Ling could finish, Yun Mu was already striding toward the teleportation ring with elegant, hurried steps.
“Gotta go! Bye-bye!” With a wave, she stepped into the ring and vanished.
“Yun Mu! Are you trying to dodge work again?!” Luo Ling’s professional mask cracked. She roared at the empty air, but the woman was already gone.
A vein throbbed in Luo Ling’s forehead. Yun Mu used to be so diligent, but ever since she’d made enough money, she’d become a world-class slacker. Luo Ling really wanted to grab her and shake some sense into her.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the rabbit in her lap staring blankly at the floor.
“Wenwen, what are you looking at?”
“Sister Yun… she forgot her fox-mimicry bracelet,” Tong Wenwen said dryly.
The woman and the rabbit shared a look of realization. Luo Ling immediately scooped up Wenwen and rushed to the floor-to-ceiling window.
