Pregnant With the Villain Boss’ Baby - Chapter 11
While Yun Mu was still reeling from her own uncharacteristic behavior, the mecha across from them raised its sword once more.
“Target acquired. Commencing elimination.”
At those words, the other four mechas abandoned their original paths and swerved mid-air, hurtling toward their position.
Yun Mu’s face twisted in a wince, accidentally pulling at her injuries. She hissed in a sharp breath.
So they aren’t after me, they’re after this woman?! Does this mean we’re just collateral damage in someone else’s mess? How annoying! But since this person was her savior, she forced herself to maintain a “polite” internal smile.
As if hearing Yun Mu’s soft huff, the woman suddenly pulled open her jacket and—unceremoniously—stuffed Yun Mu inside!
Pressed between two firm, soft mounds with a warm, supple backing… What is this sensation? A high-end, heated safety airbag?!
Yun Mu’s expression was a flat line of indignation. I’m being felt up, aren’t I? Definitely. This is blatant harassment!
“Stay still,” the woman said. Her hand patted Yun Mu’s body through the fabric, her voice carrying a trace of warmth that was hard to detect.
“…Okay…” What else could Yun Mu say? She closed her eyes and tried to hypnotize herself: You are a fox. You are just a fox. Ignore the “surroundings”!
Boom— A sudden, powerful aura erupted from the woman, making Yun Mu’s breath hitch. It was an incredibly dense scent of pheromones—potent, aggressive, and overwhelming. It made Yun Mu’s head spin.
This is at least an S-rank Alpha!
Just as that thought flashed through her mind, the woman nimbly dodged a beam saber strike. She pressed a hand against the mecha’s arm and, with a few light leaps, vaulted herself onto the machine’s head.
Her movements were fluid and effortless, possessing a strange, lethal elegance. Yun Mu, who was still trying to hypnotize herself, stared in awe.
Whoa… Interstellar qinggong? Only an Alpha could pull this off. Ugh, I’m so jealous.
Perched high up, the woman’s hair whipped in the wind. Yun Mu looked up; the woman’s face was concealed by a plain, white, unadorned mask. The combination of her skill and the mask gave her a mysterious, cool edge. Even without seeing her face, Yun Mu felt certain she must be beautiful.
As she was marveling at the sight… the woman raised her silver shield and—SLAM—smashed it directly into the top of the mecha!
The “cinematic aesthetic” suddenly took a turn for the brutal!
Who else could make such a violent act look so graceful? It was like watching someone perform a surgical dissection with the poise of a fine-dining etiquette coach. It was a bizarre contradiction, yet the woman made it look perfectly natural—even mesmerizing.
Yun Mu could only think: This Alpha is a beast!
Though the shield was only about a foot wide, the woman used it with terrifying efficiency—smashing, striking, and parrying with ease. It was a “one shield to rule them all” fighting style.
Perhaps the mechas were afraid of damaging one another; they refrained from using large-scale area attacks, instead drawing combat knives to lunge at her. But thanks to their hesitation, the woman remained unscathed while the machines took mounting damage. The one that had initially targeted Yun Mu got the worst of it—its “head” was smashed in, its body was covered in dents, and its right arm joint had been snapped. It was hard to believe a single handheld shield could output that much power.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh— A strange sound echoed from the distance. Yun Mu glanced over and saw a dozen mechas accompanied by personnel in specialized gear rushing toward them.
Holy crap, reinforcements!
Yun Mu opened her mouth to warn the woman, but the five rogue mechas reacted first.
“Hostile forces detected. Hostile forces detected. Eliminate target at all costs!”
Yun Mu’s eyes went wide as the mechas drew their primary weapons and aimed directly at them.
Bang! One mecha fired a laser cannon. It didn’t care that its own comrade was in the line of fire; it let off a beam as thick as a dinner plate. If the woman hadn’t reacted instantly, they would have been charred into cinders. The mecha in front of them wasn’t so lucky—a gaping hole was burned straight through its midsection.
Yun Mu suspected the pilot inside might be dead, but she didn’t have time to dwell on it. Her focus was on the “mechanical” voice. Reinforcements! Yes! Get over here!
She had completely abandoned her “Film Queen” image. She was covered in dirt and stuffed inside a jacket—what image was left to save? She expressed her excitement through the frantic twitching of her ears. As for screaming… that was her final shred of dignity. She wouldn’t lose it.
However, the arrival of reinforcements made the rogue mechas more desperate. Every dodge became a hair-raising gamble. Yun Mu broke into a cold sweat.
CLANG— A heavy punch slammed into the woman’s shield. This time, instead of parrying, the woman leaped at the moment of impact. She planted a foot on the back of the shield just as the fist hit the front.
Zing—! The two of them were launched like a cannonball toward the reinforcements.
Watching the confused mechas who had essentially just “delivered” their target to safety, Yun Mu could only marvel at the audacity of that move.
The rogue mechas below realized the trick and charged like mad, firing lasers indiscriminately into the sky. But every shot was blocked by the woman’s shield. In fact, the force of the lasers actually prevented them from falling and increased their flight speed.
Note to self: Buy a shield. Best. Safety. Device. Ever.
Once they were directly over the reinforcements, the woman shifted her weight, causing the shield to act as a platform for their descent. The wind was so strong Yun Mu could barely keep her eyes open. Is this really safe? We’re going to be half-paralyzed if we hit the ground like this!
Sensing her fear, the woman shifted again. She held the shield out and slammed it into the ground upon impact. The force was so great it created a crater, and the shield actually bounced back up. That upward momentum stalled their fall for a split second before they touched down again. By repeating this, the woman miraculously negated their terminal velocity.
Is that shield made of rubber?! How does it bounce?! Yun Mu was in a daze.
Thud… thud thud… As they neared the ground, the woman’s hand movements accelerated until they finally landed steadily on their feet, completely unharmed.
“Are you all right? Did I scare you?” The woman carefully fished Yun Mu out of her jacket, cradling the fox in her arms and asking softly.
“…N-no…” On the surface, she was calm, but Yun Mu’s eyes kept darting to the shield at the woman’s feet. Dying to ask: Big shot, is that shield for sale? It’s a literal lifesaver. Is it okay to just leave it on the dirt like that?
The woman noticed her gaze, leaned down, and shook the dust off the shield. With a shimmer, it vanished from her hand.
A spatial storage ring! Yun Mu’s eyes nearly popped out. Spatial tech was strictly regulated in the Cloud World—and reality. Usually, only the military, royalty, or high-ranking officials had access. This woman was definitely someone important; no wonder she was a target.
“Mommy… Mommy!”
Yun Lan’s voice rang out. A dusty, grey ball that looked like a rock came rolling over at high speed, chirping for Yun Mu.
“Baozi, are you okay?” Seeing Yun Lan, Yun Mu realized she was still in the woman’s arms. She wriggled, trying to get down.
“You’re injured,” the woman said, her voice muffled behind the mask. She seemed reluctant to let the little fox go, her lips pressing into a thin line.
“I’m fine. I’ll just log out and log back in,” Yun Mu said softly. Everyone in the Cloud World was a mental construct; as long as the injury wasn’t catastrophic, a bit of rest in reality would fix it.
Besides, staying in an Alpha’s arms like this felt… wrong. Even though the woman was emitting a thick Alpha scent that should have made an Omega like her uncomfortable, Yun Mu felt a strange sense of familiarity instead of distress. She couldn’t put her finger on it.
This internal conflict made her tone more resolute.
The woman was silent for a moment, as if struggling with herself, before slowly leaning down and setting Yun Mu gently on the ground.
Yun Lan immediately scurried into Yun Mu’s arms, circling her with intense worry. “Is Mommy okay? Where does it hurt?”
“Mommy’s fine.” Yun Mu rubbed the soft bun, brushing the dirt off her. Her pristine white bun had turned into a little grey stone.
Yun Lan hugged Yun Mu’s arm with her tiny hands and looked up at the woman. “Thank you for saving us.”
The woman looked down at the little “Baozi,” her eyes flickering behind the mask, before returning her gaze to Yun Mu.
“Youying.”
“Huh?” Yun Mu blinked.
“Youying. You can call me that,” the woman repeated. “Because my business put you in danger, I will compensate you.”
“Uh… what?”
“Until you no longer need help, I will stay with you to ensure your safety.”
“No, no, no! I don’t think that’s necessary!” Yun Mu shook her head frantically. Another life-or-death chase? No thank you!
The woman seemed surprised by the blunt rejection. She was silent for a long time, and Yun Mu could have sworn the eyes behind that mask looked a little… hurt? Must be my imagination.
“However,” the woman continued, “the fact that you were seen with me may have already made you a target for those people. You are safer with me.”
This is a threat! This is a blatant threat!
Yun Mu felt utterly stifled, but for the sake of her and Yun Lan’s safety, she could only nod and agree to Youying’s “protection.”
