Pregnant with the Alpha Best Actress's Child - Chapter 1
The city was a spectacle of neon lights and wine, a world of intoxicating luxury.
Nightlife in City Y was far more brilliant than the day. The neon lights connected at the horizon to form ribbons of radiance, outshining even the stars above. At two in the morning, the hour was perfect for those still awake to strike a spark and begin a charming yet dangerous entanglement.
Sang Zhijiu had decided to perish together with Fan Wu.
In the unlit hotel suite, moonlight mingled with the glow of the city, peeking through the gaps in the curtains. It caught the sight of Sang Zhijiu trembling all over as she reached out to wrap her hands around Fan Wu’s neck. She exerted her strength. Soon, the fast-asleep Fan Wu began to cough dryly and suddenly jolted awake.
As an Alpha, Fan Wu possessed a natural physical advantage. The moment she opened her eyes, she immediately suppressed Sang Zhijiu, who was already exhausted and lacked the strength to resist. However, the smell of alcohol on Fan Wu’s breath was heavy. Although she was awake, her consciousness remained blurred. Using her limbs to pin Sang Zhijiu beneath her, she grunted and frowned, muttering two words: “Stop it.”
Sang Zhijiu could no longer restrain her tears.
“Waaa! You, you give me back my innocence! My first time was supposed to be saved for my wedding night, kept for my wife! Waaa, you stinking rogue!”
Fan Wu’s eyes were half-open, and it was unclear if she had heard correctly. She struggled to process Sang Zhijiu’s words before nodding. “Then you can take my innocence instead.”
Sang Zhijiu’s sobbing paused for a heartbeat, and she was so startled she let out a hiccup. “Hic!”
A second later, her tears flowed even harder. “To hell with you! Who wants your innocence?! Waaa!”
Fan Wu was puzzled. “Then what do you want?”
Regaining a shred of logic, Sang Zhijiu stared at her with wide eyes and began to threaten her, regardless of whether Fan Wu could see her in the dark. “Just you wait. I, I’m going to take you to court. I’ll personally send a rapist like you to prison! Hic, enjoy your time behind bars!”
Fan Wu replied, “Okay.”
Sang Zhijiu continued to cry. “I’ll ruin your reputation! I’ll make all your brain-dead fans see your true colors!”
Fan Wu said, “Mm.”
Sang Zhijiu sobbed. “I won’t accept a settlement! After you become a prisoner, you must apologize and admit your wrongs in front of everyone!”
Fan Wu answered, “Fine.”
“I also want you to lose every penny you have! Waaa! I will make you live on the streets and eat rotten cabbage every day!”
“That is fine.”
The silence stretched for a moment.
After venting her frustrations in a long, rambling stream, Sang Zhijiu found Fan Wu’s cooperative attitude unbelievable. Her mouth was dry, and she could not think of any other ways to get revenge, so she shut her eyes and focused on crying loudly.
Fan Wu felt lost. She remembered agreeing to every single condition, yet she could not understand why the person beneath her was still weeping so heartwrenchingly. Her temples were already throbbing from the alcohol, and Sang Zhijiu’s crying only made her more irritable.
“Didn’t I already agree to everything?” she asked with a frown. “Stop crying.”
Sang Zhijiu smacked her lips, determined to defy her to the death. “I, I’m crying! What does that have to do with you?”
Fan Wu lifted her upper body slightly, loosening her hold on Sang Zhijiu. She compromised, asking, “Then what do I have to do to make you a little quieter?”
Sang Zhijiu immediately felt insulted all over again. She was grieving over the ridiculous intimacy that had just occurred, yet Fan Wu only cared about whether she was being too noisy. At that thought, she bared her teeth, showing two small tiger fangs, and bit down on the other woman in a fit of rage.
The room was pitch black. A moment later, the bridge of her straight nose slammed hard against Fan Wu’s shoulder. The good news was that because they were both naked, her teeth quickly found Fan Wu’s flesh. Fan Wu’s reaction was slow; she paused for two seconds before letting out a groan of pain.
However, this successfully stopped the crying for a moment. Fan Wu lowered her head and asked, “Are we done?”
Sang Zhijiu wiped the corner of her mouth, smearing away a mix of tears and saliva. “In your dreams!”
After that outburst, she truly lost the urge to keep crying. As her reason returned, her senses became clearer. Her expression remained fierce as she bared her fangs, looking as if she wanted to swallow Fan Wu alive.
“You!”
Fan Wu cooperated quietly. “Yes?”
Sang Zhijiu took a deep breath and made her demand. “Take, take me to the bathroom.”
It took Fan Wu a while to react. “Are you afraid of the dark?”
Sang Zhijiu’s voice trembled. “You’re the one afraid of the dark!” She demanded without any real intimidation, “Hurry up!”
She had a habit of waking up in the night to use the bathroom, and after all this delay, she could barely hold it anymore! Fan Wu gave a soft “mm” and got out of bed, picking up a bathrobe to drape over herself. For the sake of efficiency, she picked Sang Zhijiu up in a bridal carry and walked through the dark room to the door of the attached bathroom.
Sang Zhijiu’s waist was sore and her legs were weak. Being carried through the dark room made her tighten her grip around Fan Wu’s neck.
Fan Wu reminded her, “We’re here.”
Sang Zhijiu leaned shakily against the wall, found the light switch, and flicked it. With a loud click, the bathroom was flooded with white light, forming a sharp contrast with the pitch-black bedroom. Light dispelled her fear, and Sang Zhijiu’s courage returned. She darted into the bathroom and slammed the door hard in Fan Wu’s face!
Once her primary physiological need was resolved, the sticky, uncomfortable feeling on her body became obvious. Sang Zhijiu covered her nose, trying to dispel the strange minty scent surrounding her, but it was useless. She had to stand under the shower and turn it on, letting the water wash over her.
It was then that she realized this was not her own hotel room. The structure and decor were identical, but the toiletries she usually used had been replaced by a different brand. Her memories resurfaced. She vaguely recalled that at the cocktail party a few hours ago, she had felt unwell and asked her manager to handle things so she could go upstairs to rest.
After stumbling out of the elevator, she had come across an open door. At the time, she did not have the energy to think. She had simply walked in and collapsed onto the bed. After that, after that came the touching of skin and the blending of bodies.
Looking at it this way, it seemed she had entered the wrong room first, leading to this drunken incident. Sang Zhijiu’s eyes turned red again, and she sniffled several times to force back the urge to cry.
“No! It’s all Fan Wu’s fault! I did not drink that much. How could I have had no awareness or ability to resist?” She wiped her eyes and focused on cleaning herself up.
Once she was finished, she found a bathrobe in the bathroom closet, put it on, and walked out. Using the light from the bathroom, she walked to the other side of the bedroom and turned on the main lights.
Fan Wu was back on the bed, sleeping soundly. Sang Zhijiu retrieved her belongings from the floor, only to find that her phone was completely dead and had turned itself off. Between the night of passion and all this chaos, she was also exhausted. Thinking reasonably, it seemed inhumane to wake up the staff at this hour to resolve the matter.
But if she just left, there was no guarantee Fan Wu would not deny everything tomorrow. After a moment of thought, Sang Zhijiu quickly found the notepad provided by the hotel on the nightstand. She tore off a page and wrote while whispering the words:
“I, Fan Wu, committed an unforgivable crime against Ms. Sang Zhijiu on April 24, 2030. I confess to this without reservation and will bear all consequences arising from it. I will follow Ms. Sang Zhijiu’s instructions and compensate her for all losses.”
Time was limited, so while the statement was simple, it was enough. Sang Zhijiu looked around and snatched a lipstick from the dressing table. She returned to the bed, smeared it on Fan Wu’s thumb, and pressed it heavily onto the statement. Satisfied with her work, she breathed a sigh of relief, turned around, and left, taking the elevator back to her own room.
By the time she finished all this, she was utterly spent. She had just plugged her phone into the charger when she succumbed to her drowsiness and fell asleep.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw her manager and assistant, Lin Jiahe. Lin Jiahe’s brow was furrowed with worry. “Zhijiu, you have a fever.”
Sang Zhijiu froze for a moment, then cursed hoarsely, “Fan Wu is an animal!”
Lin Jiahe was confused. “What does this have to do with Best Actress Fan?” She stood up. “I’ll get you a coat. We have to go to the hospital right away.”
Sang Zhijiu wanted to tell her what happened last night, but she felt too miserable. Thinking that everything would be clear once they got to the hospital, she kept her mouth shut and let Lin Jiahe make the arrangements.
As fate would have it, misfortunes never come singly. When the elevator descended from the 26th floor to the 24th, the doors opened. Sang Zhijiu looked up and came face-to-face with her enemy from the night before. Her face darkened instantly, and she looked away in disgust.
In contrast, Fan Wu, who had been standing expressionless in sunglasses, saw the two of them and allowed a slight curve to touch her lips. She nodded proactively.
Jiang Mengzhi, who was standing behind her, spoke up to greet them. “Zhijiu, Jiahe.”
Lin Jiahe’s attention was entirely on Sang Zhijiu, so her reaction was slow. Only then did she quickly respond, “Sister Fan Wu, Sister Mengzhi, good morning.”
Sang Zhijiu pulled on her little manager’s sleeve, reminding her to stay away from the two of them. She muttered meaningfully, “Hypocrite.”
Fan Wu was somewhat surprised. It was true that she and Sang Zhijiu did not get along, but they usually maintained a surface-level peace. This was the first time she had heard Sang Zhijiu attack her so directly.
She looked straight at Lin Jiahe. “Is Ms. Sang sick?”
Lin Jiahe was so nervous she tensed up, and before she could reply, Sang Zhijiu snapped, “You’re the one who’s sick!”
Fan Wu smiled harmlessly. “What kind of illness causes such a big temper? That means I suppose it was worth it for me.”
Sang Zhijiu’s eyes widened. “Just you wait! Let’s see how long you can stay so smug!”
As soon as the elevator doors opened, she pulled Lin Jiahe along and walked out angrily. Fan Wu and Jiang Mengzhi followed closely behind and entered a different black car.
Once the car door closed, Jiang Mengzhi carefully observed Fan Wu’s expression. “Last night, what exactly happened?”
When she picked up Fan Wu this morning, the other woman clearly had a look as if a storm was brewing. But as soon as she met Sang Zhijiu, Fan Wu seemed to put her own issues aside. Now, looking at her expression, Jiang Mengzhi could not tell if the events of last night were serious or not.
Fan Wu did not even turn her head as she said, “Call HR. Have Fan Zhengzhi sweep the toilets for half a year.”
As she spoke, she looked down to check a new message on her phone. After seeing the content, her expression softened slightly. “Fan Yu is coming back.”
Jiang Mengzhi hesitated for two seconds. “If you want to move against Fan Zhengzhi, Fan Yu might not agree.”
While replying to the message, Fan Wu let out a cold snort. “You underestimate the relationship between Fan Yu and me.”
Just as she finished speaking, Fan Yu’s reply arrived: “No need, Sister. I’m going to find Brother Zhi as soon as I get off the plane. You stay busy, no need to pick me up.”
Jiang Mengzhi happened to see the sentence from the side and added, “You underestimate the relationship between Fan Yu and Sang Zhijiu.”
Fan Wu’s face instantly turned as black as charcoal.
