Older Brother - Chapter 2
The entire old mansion was deathly silent. Bai You could see nothing clearly, only the faint outline of a blurred figure. In the darkness, the icy barrel of a gun pressed against his skin, which was burning with the onset of his heat. Amidst the instinctive surge of fear, the cold metal dragging across his flesh brought a strange, unsettling sense of relief.
The gun barrel slid down from his chin, lingering near his throat a single pull of the trigger away from tearing through him.
His mind cleared slightly from the haze of sweltering lust. Bai You knew he couldn’t afford to be exposed, yet he had no idea if he would even survive the night. He didn’t dare speak, fearing his voice would give him away. However, his Omega body ignored the danger; stimulated by the Alpha’s unabashed pheromones, the fever of his heat surged back with a vengeance.
The Omega’s suppressed, low gasps were intoxicating, and the scent of orchid pheromones grew increasingly thick in the air.
Fu Yu paused for a moment, finding the scent surprisingly pleasant. He lowered his head to sniff at the man’s neck, narrowing his eyes. He assumed some bold soul had planted this Omega in his bed. His own rut had only recently passed, leaving him restless and irritable. Caught in the snare of this soul-stirring scent, a rush of heat hit his brain, and he roughly hauled the Omega onto the bed.
The moment he was touched, Bai You’s remaining logic was swallowed by the tide. His consciousness felt submerged in boiling water. He snapped his eyes open in a flash of sudden pain, instinctively trying to struggle away, but Fu Yu’s strength was terrifying, pinning him down with a single hand.
Such was the nature of Alphas and Omegas: the Alpha held absolute dominance in bed, and resistance was never permitted.
Bai You’s brief clarity vanished into the waves once more. By the time the first round ended and he realized what had happened, he felt as though he had fallen into an abyss of ice. He had slept with Fu Yu. Even if they weren’t blood-related, he had watched Fu Yu grow up.
A crushing sense of shame and transgression flooded his heart. His strength surged in a desperate attempt to break free from the Alpha’s grip.
Fu Yu let out a soft “tsk” and easily pinned him back down. He found himself deeply enamored with this Omega’s scent. In the world of romance, he was usually a cynical player, never truly letting an Omega get close. He had seen all types and smelled countless pheromones, yet he felt a near-obsessive attraction to this specific fragrance. He lost control, sinking his teeth into the stranger’s nape to deliver a temporary mark.
From the moment he was dragged onto the bed until now, even at the peak of the heat, Bai You had hardly made a sound. This annoyed Fu Yu. He grabbed the man’s chin, demanding, “Are you a mute?”
Bai You trembled violently, biting his lip in silence. Fu Yu let out a cruel chuckle. “We’ll see about that.”
He pushed until a cry finally escaped Bai You’s lips. Fu Yu rubbed the man’s Adam’s apple with a wicked touch. “See? You sound quite lovely.”
By midnight, the power returned. The lights remained off, but a sliver of light peeked through the heavy curtains.
Fu Yu felt a spark of curiosity. He wanted to see what this quiet, inexperienced, yet incredibly fragrant Omega looked like. As he reached for the bedside lamp, Bai You saw the movement. Gathering a final, flickering ounce of strength, he pressed his hand over Fu Yu’s.
His only thought was that he could not let Fu Yu recognize him. His voice was so hoarse it was unrecognizable. “Don’t look at me,” he pleaded wretchedly.
The hand resting on his felt like a feather light and damp with sweat. There was a note of desperation in that gravelly voice.
Fu Yu froze. For some reason, his heart softened. He slowly withdrew his hand, trying to make out the man’s features in the dark, but he could still only see a vague silhouette. He tilted the man’s chin up and laughed softly. “What are you afraid of? Are you that ugly?”
Bai You fell silent again.
The scent of orchids intertwined with the Alpha’s pheromones. Fu Yu’s moment of soft-heartedness lasted only a second before he pressed him down again.
When the chaotic affair finally ended, Fu Yu fell asleep with cold indifference, offering no comfort to the Omega. He was disciplined enough not to permanently mark a stranger of unknown origins.
As the heat subsided, Bai You forced himself to stay awake despite the exhaustion and pain. He feigned sleep until Fu Yu’s breathing became steady. Then, he reached into his discarded clothes for a small sedative spray. Before Fu Yu could react to the intrusion, the mist took effect, plunging the Alpha into a deep, forced slumber.
Filled with a mix of shame, anger, and terror, Bai You switched on the lamp. Shaking, he dressed himself and scoured the room to ensure he hadn’t left anything behind. He used the wall for support as he stood up.
His gaze fell upon Fu Yu’s service pistol on the nightstand. Without thinking, he picked it up and aimed it at Fu Yu’s head.
Fu Yu was strikingly handsome, with sharp features that usually carried a dark, predatory edge. In sleep, he looked almost peaceful.
The bite on the back of Bai You’s neck throbbed with a mix of pain and lingering pleasure. He took a deep breath. Perhaps it was a momentary weakness, or perhaps it was the biological dependency triggered by the temporary mark, but his hand shook as he lowered the gun. He wiped his fingerprints off the weapon and fled through the window.
It was only the second floor, but his legs were so weak he nearly twisted his ankle upon landing.
Because of the temporary mark, the first wave of his heat had receded, and his scent was masked by Fu Yu’s. Relying on his familiarity with the ancestral home, he evaded the security cameras and slipped back into his own room. He pulled out his hidden stash of suppressants and “Pseudo-A” disguise agents, plunging the needle into his vein without hesitation.
The suppressants worked quickly. The disguise agent released a stable, grassy Alpha scent that slowly covered the lingering traces of the night.
Yet, he could still feel Fu Yu’s essence clinging to his skin. It felt as though he was still submerged in those overbearing pheromones—saturated with Fu Yu’s scent from the inside out.
Bai You endured the discomfort and took a long shower, checking the time. Dawn was breaking. Even though Fu Yu hadn’t reached his internal cavity, he was still terrified of the possibilities.
After some hesitation, he slipped out quietly to buy emergency contraception. Only after swallowing the pill did he finally feel a sense of relief. He was so shaken by the night’s events that he wanted to run away and never look back.
But if he vanished, it would surely arouse suspicion.
Bai You lingered outside all day, only returning reluctantly at dusk. His quarters were remote and rarely visited; under normal circumstances, he and Fu Yu barely crossed paths a few times a year. As long as he kept his mouth shut, no one would ever know he was that Omega. In a few weeks, he would find an excuse to leave for good.
However, the moment he stepped into the mansion, he sensed a change in the atmosphere. He feigned ignorance and headed to his room. When he opened the door, he was met with the sight of Fu Yu’s tall, imposing back.
Hearing the door, the Alpha turned around with a slight, dangerous smile. “Finally decided to come back?”
Bai You’s face turned deathly pale.
