Mysterious Beautiful Wife at Home (GL) - Chapter 01
In her dazed state, Zhang Yuning felt someone pressed against her, accompanied by an intoxicating fragrance.
She struggled to open her eyes, but her eyelids were too heavy. Just as she managed to pry them open slightly, a voice whispered in her ear, “Do you want it?”
That breathy, heart-fluttering murmur melted Zhang Yuning’s resolve. Her entire body felt weak, held tightly in someone’s embrace.
She seemed to have lost control, swept away in a blissful dream. Though she couldn’t see who was beside her, she experienced
unparalleled pleasure. At 28 years old, Zhang Yuning had never felt anything like this before. She had never been attracted to
anyone. Let alone imagined that her first encounter would be with a woman.
Who was this woman? Her face was indistinct, yet she felt familiar, as if they had known each other in a past life. There was no
awkwardness, no resistance only an overwhelming sense of intimacy.
Could it be that her lifelong single status was due to her sexual orientation? This was her first time having such a dream, and it
felt incredible so much so that she didn’t want it to end.
But hadn’t she just picked the five-layered security lock of the Chi family’s vault, only to fall into a trap?
Wait, this didn’t feel like a dream. The sensation of being with someone was too real.
Zhang Yuning jolted awake, sitting up abruptly. She found herself in a spacious, transparent bedroom or rather, what looked like a
glass box. Through the glass, she could see the kitchen, living room, and study, all part of an open, expansive space. There was
even a miniature golf course, and beyond that, a garden. The luxury was indescribable. Strangely, she couldn’t spot any doors, the surroundings seemed both open and completely sealed at the same time.
This had to be a high-tech house, likely filled with hidden smart devices monitoring every move.
As she glanced around, she noticed someone else by the bed. A delicate-looking woman was huddled in the corner, watching her
timidly with tear-stained eyes. Her arms were crossed over her chest, as if trying to cover herself. She appeared to be completely
naked.
Zhang Yuning’s first thought was that she had actually slept with someone. Then, upon closer inspection, she realized—wasn’t this
woman Chi Nian, the heiress of the Chi family?
But just this morning, she had seen news reports that Chi Nian had gone missing after a car accident. Even stranger, a month ago,
Zhang Yuning had witnessed a crash on Pingma Avenue. She had tried to help but was knocked unconscious only to later learn that the
victim was Chi Nian.
So, the Chi family was embroiled in internal strife, and she had gotten involved for no reason, treated as nothing more than an
obstacle to be kicked aside. The thought made her blood boil.
Zhang Yuning never let grudges go unaddressed. She had initially planned to let it slide after being knocked out by the powerful
Chi family, but now that news of Chi Nian’s disappearance had surfaced, it was clear this was part of a sibling feud over
inheritance.
Since she had inadvertently stumbled into this mess, she might as well make the most of it. With the Chi family in turmoil, she
could investigate for her patron Third Miss Xiao of the rival Xiao family.
So, she put her IT and lock-picking skills to use, sneaking into the Chi family’s hidden mansions. But just as she cracked the
nearly impossible security door, she fell into a hidden compartment and blacked out.
“You…” Zhang Yuning hesitated. No matter how bizarre the situation, she always kept her cool.
She had seen her fair share of the world, with an IQ above average. Talented people always had their own quirks.
“My name is Chi Nian,” the woman said, her voice carrying a hint of tears yet remaining calm.
So, it really was the eldest daughter of the Chi family.
Chi Nian had the delicate features of a classic Eastern beauty, the kind that made the world seem indebted to her when she looked
pitiful. Her soft, exquisite features carried an air of aloof elegance, with the innate nobility of a wealthy heiress etched into
her bones.
Her eyes were as dark as midnight, deep and mysterious like the ocean’s abyss, yet when she lifted her gaze, they shone as bright
as a moonlit night, glimmering faintly. The graceful curve of her collarbone beneath that fair, slender neck made Zhang Yuning
involuntarily recall the scene of burying her face there, breathing in her scent.
The Chi family had always been flamboyant, and Chi Nian held the title of the most beautiful woman in Liuli City. Whether the title
was bought or hyped, her looks undeniably lived up to the word “beauty.”
Zhang Yuning had never seen Chi Nian without makeup, always assuming she wore heavy cosmetics for the camera, with heavily filtered
images online. She never expected her to be this stunning in person.
Some beauty needed no embellishment. Chi Nian’s naturally refined, gentle face was nothing short of a divine gift.
Though she had guessed her identity, Zhang Yuning still found it unbelievable. So, the person she had just rolled in the sheets
with was Chi Nian?
She had slept with Chi Nian, the heiress of the wealthiest family in Liuli Island?
Zhang Yuning quickly snapped back to reason. She had examined the driver after that car crash. It had been severe, certainly
requiring major surgery, and the head trauma would have been difficult to recover from. Yet, in just over half a month, Miss Chi
was standing here as if nothing had happened?
“You were in a car accident before… you’re fine now?” Zhang Yuning deliberately slowed her words, trying to confirm what she was
seeing. That couldn’t have been a dream. She had definitely been knocked out.
Chi Nian lowered her gaze, a faint smile playing on her lips. “You all thought I was dead, didn’t you?”
“The Chi family already announced it. The whole of Liuli Island knows you went missing.”
“At least they didn’t declare me dead. Coming back to life would’ve been terrifying.” Chi Nian’s words seemed layered with meaning.
She appeared composed. Was it the calm after facing death, or just the indifference bred from a lifetime of aristocratic schemes?
When Chi Nian looked at her, there was always a tenderness like water, mixed with a depth that didn’t match her age. Her elegance
was bone-deep, making her seem far from a typical 26-year-old woman.
Staring into her eyes too long even gave the illusion that the stories buried in her heart were about to spill forth.
It had to be an illusion. Chi Nian’s public image was that of a willful, naive, harmless rich girl—where would she have stories?
Where would that depth come from?
Zhang Yuning found herself lost in her gaze, as if under some spell, involuntarily reliving the passion from earlier.
“Do you remember what you did?” Chi Nian’s voice suddenly turned teasing, reminiscent of her tone in bed.
The awkwardness of the situation left Zhang Yuning at a loss for words. The memory of that dreamlike adult encounter brought a
flush of shame.
But had it really happened, or was it just a vivid dream?
“I passed out. I don’t remember anything. It felt like a dream,” Zhang Yuning replied stiffly.
“Dreaming? Well, that makes sense. We’re both adults. What happens between consenting adults stays between them. But there’s no
privacy here. ” Chi Nian spoke slowly, her eyes darting around nervously as if checking for surveillance. Every micro-expression
flowed naturally.
Yet her gaze remained unchanged—was that “nervousness” even real?
Even the tiniest pinhole cameras leave traces. Zhang Yuning knew a thing or two about IT; she could code and design security
systems. A quick inspection would reveal the truth.
“Was I drugged?” Zhang Yuning asked, baffled. There was no other explanation.
“Probably.”
“Probably?”
“I don’t know. You were the one who touched me. Why are you asking me?” Chi Nian’s accusatory tone carried a hint of grievance, as
if to say she was the one who’d been wronged. Why was she being doubted?
Zhang Yuning unconsciously rubbed her fingers, recalling the vividly erotic scene—so clear, so real. If the person in that dream
was Chi Nian, then she was undoubtedly a seasoned seductress, bold and passionate. Definitely not her first time.
“Miss Chi…” Zhang Yuning began, but Chi Nian suddenly threw herself into her arms, trembling. “Hold me. My brother wants to kill
me.”
She wasn’t wearing any clothes. Whether it was the lingering effects of the drug or not, Zhang Yuning’s face flushed, her pulse
racing. The details of that “wet dream” swirled in her mind. Chi Nian’s voice, her movements, her words…
“Hold me,” Chi Nian repeated, burying her face deeper into the crook of Zhang Yuning’s neck, her trembling voice laced with unshed
tears, heartbreaking to hear.
Zhang Yuning raised her arms and gently embraced Chi Nian. The moment her hands touched Chi Nian’s back, the other woman clung
tighter, as if afraid she’d slip away.
But Zhang Yuning’s mind was elsewhere. She had only wanted to peek into the Chi family’s affairs. How had she gotten tangled up in
this mess?
Who had drugged them? And why force her and Chi Nian together?
The Chi family dynamics were straightforward. Chi Nian’s father, Chi Shangqing, was the sole heir to a generational empire. By his
time, the Chi family’s wealth had soared to national prominence, their industries spanning the globe, rivaling the Xiao family. The
two had been locked in a battle for dominance for years.
Fearing his daughter might not handle such a vast inheritance alone, and wary of outsiders coveting the family fortune, Chi
Shangqing had adopted a son, Chi Jing. Two years ago, Chi Shangqing died suddenly of a heart attack. The board took control of the
conglomerate. Though Chi Nian held the majority stake, her lack of business experience and connections left Chi Jing in de facto
control—ambitious, ruthless, and determined to push Chi Nian out and seize everything.
Rumors swirled that Chi Jing would stop at nothing to suppress his sister, which was why Chi Nian always traveled with bodyguards.
Whether the rumors were true or not, Chi Nian’s mention of her brother made sense.
At some point, Chi Nian’s embrace grew more intimate. Her lips brushed Zhang Yuning’s ear as she exhaled a warm breath and
whispered, “I still don’t know your name.”
Zhang Yuning’s thoughts were a tangled mess, she needed to sort this out. But hearing Chi Nian’s soft voice, she answered
obediently, “Zhang Yuning.” She fought to stay clear-headed, not to let this beauty cloud her judgment.
“Xiao Zhang,” Chi Nian murmured, “will you be my bodyguard?”
“Xiao Zhang? A bodyguard?” Zhang Yuning froze for a moment as Chi Nian leaned in close, their lips nearly touching when she
whispered: “I need your protection.” But the moment those words were spoken, she calmly straightened up and began dressing,
switching between these two states effortlessly.
Though Zhang Yuning wasn’t anyone particularly remarkable, she was still a doctor, knew a thing or two about IT, and was skilled in
combat with quick reflexes—qualities that made her perfectly capable as a bodyguard. But still…
Who was behind this setup? What other schemes were hidden beneath it all? This Miss Chi was bizarre enough that playing along might
just be the way to infiltrate the Chi family for the sake of the Third Miss Xiao.
“Why should I be your bodyguard?” Zhang Yuning countered, probing rather than retreating. She refused to live in confusion. This
matter had to be investigated thoroughly, along with Chi Nian’s true motives.
Her demeanor was so different from what Zhang Yuning had imagined. Or perhaps was the woman before her even the real Chi Nian?
Chi Nian was slipping into her undergarments when she paused at Zhang Yuning’s words.
A faint smile played at her lips as she suddenly lunged forward, draping herself over Zhang Yuning’s shoulders, her arms crossed.
The straps of her lingerie slid down, the soft curves and seductive glimpses just barely visible in Zhang Yuning’s peripheral
vision.
Zhang Yuning deliberately averted her gaze, turning her head away only for Chi Nian to hook a finger under her chin, pulling her
close until her ear brushed against the warmth of Chi Nian’s lips.
“You slept with me, and now you think you can just run away?”
