The story follows Lin Mo, a seasoned veteran of “quick transmigration,” who returns to a world she left eight years ago. During her previous time there, she had spent four years “rescuing” a young girl, but when the girl confessed her love, Lin Mo rejected her and was unceremoniously sent away. Upon her return, Lin Mo is shocked to find that her “little sweetheart” has grown into Su Qixi, a massively popular celebrity. Now, getting close to her is nearly impossible.
The narrative heats up during a live broadcast when the host calls the last number on the film queen’s phone list. Lin Mo’s phone rings in the audience, and she answers it under the stunned gazes of those around her, causing a massive social media crash. Following the incident, companies start clamoring to sign the newly formed “couple.”
Su Qixi, who is determined to maintain her cold and unfeeling persona, initially tries to resist Lin Mo’s romantic pursuit. However, Lin Mo’s charm and persistence slowly wear down her defenses. In one humorous exchange, Lin Mo asks, “Xiao Xi, want to get hotpot?” Su Qixi scoffs, “You’ll never melt my icy heart.” But when Lin Mo asks again, Su Qixi reluctantly agrees. Lin Mo’s simple, “Good girl,” and a playful whisper in her ear makes Su Qixi’s resolve crumble, much to the delight of their fans.
