Evelyn winked at me while uttering such embarrassing words, making me feel a bit annoyed. After agreeing to meet again for dinner, I immediately looked for the butler.

“Where’s Ash?”

“He finished his meal and went out right away.”

“Okay. Tell him I’m in the study when he comes back.”

“Yes, Miss.”

I should organize the documents until he returns. My body still ached here and there, but it wasn’t as difficult as it used to be, as if I was getting used to it.

I moved to the quiet study and spent quite a while reviewing the proposals that needed to be resolved today, pondering how to handle them.

With a light knock, Ash’s pleasant voice made my heart flutter. I immediately put down the documents, got up, and opened the door myself. He came right in, closed the door, and embraced me tightly.
