My Possessive Boss Is Unexpectedly Needy - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
“Zining? You’re back?”
Nervously, Yu Zining pushed He Yilun into the house and quickly shut the door.
“What’s wrong? Why are you in such a panic?”
Left with no choice, Yu Zining gestured frantically to He Yilun: Help me!
He Yilun lowered his eyes slightly and said with a smile, “You’re my benefactor; it’s only right that I help you. What’s actually going on? What do you need me to do?”
Yu Zining asked He Yilun to wait in the living room while he went into his bedroom. He stared at his reflection in the mirror, slowly removed his wig, and changed into the men’s clothing he had hidden for a long time. He pulled out his household registration booklet; the word “Male” printed under the gender category looked exceptionally piercing.
He tucked it into his bag and opened the door.
He Yilun was struck speechless the moment he saw the person walking out of the room.
“You… you’re a man?”
Yu Zining nodded.
He Yilun let out a sigh and said, “How do I need to help? Write it down.” As he spoke, he handed Yu Zining a pen and paper.
Yu Zining pushed the items back and spoke: “No need.”
He Yilun froze. The voice was delicate and gentle, like the trickling of a stream, leaving him somewhat entranced.
“You can talk?”
Yu Zining hadn’t intended to deceive anyone, but once a single lie begins, thousands more must be woven to maintain it.
“I’m sorry. I have my reasons.”
A flicker of something unknown passed through He Yilun’s eyes. He smiled and said, “Everyone has things in life they can’t control. How shall I help you?”
…
Downstairs, the bodyguards grew suspicious when Yu Zining didn’t come down and prepared to head up.
They rushed toward the stairs. Just then, they encountered two men reeking of alcohol coming down. One man was leaning on the other, his head buried in the other man’s chest.
He mumbled, “Wine… more wine…”
The bodyguards didn’t pay them much mind. The last bodyguard in line looked at the two departing men with a hint of confusion but merely gave them a second glance before dismissing it.
Once they reached the ground floor, He Yilun let go of Yu Zining.
“Thank you,” Yu Zining said.
He Yilun asked worriedly, “What will you do now?”
Yu Zining lowered his gaze. “I’ll leave this place first.”
He Yilun draped an arm over Yu Zining’s shoulder. “Come on, I’ll buy you dinner. Let us drink while there is wine to be had, and leave tomorrow’s worries for tomorrow!”
He led Yu Zining away with his arm hooked around him. Yu Zining felt visibly uncomfortable being held that way.
He Yilun brought him to a restaurant that appeared quite ordinary. They entered a private booth.
“Order some food first,” He Yilun said with a smile. “I know a winery nearby that makes excellent stuff. I’ll go grab a bottle.”
Before Yu Zining could say a word, He Yilun was already gone.
After a long while, Yu Zining heard a commotion outside. Then, the door to his booth was kicked open.
Two burly men burst in. They paused for a second when they saw him but recognized him nonetheless. Before Yu Zining could run, he was knocked unconscious.
…
YIY Group
Shen Ziqi rushed into the office, pushing the door open.
“President Lu, something is wrong! Madam is missing!”
Lu Yeyan’s eyes snapped open. He stood up abruptly, staring at Shen Ziqi.
…
Time passed, though Yu Zining didn’t know how much.
He heard a rhythmic whooshing sound as he slowly regained consciousness. He tried to open his eyes, only to find a strip of cloth tied over them. He tried to move, but his hands and feet were bound.
Where was he? Yu Zining was certain the people who took him weren’t Lu Yeyan’s men. So who were they?
Then, the crisp click-clack of high heels echoed from a distance, approaching slowly until they stopped right beside him.
“Unblindfold him.”
At the woman’s command, the cloth was ripped away.
The sudden glare of harsh light stung his eyes. As he adjusted, the woman in front of him came into focus.
Yan Yuchen!!
It was Yan Yuchen who had kidnapped him.
Yan Yuchen looked at him with disdain, a smirk playing on her lips. “So you’re actually a man. What a joke. And a thing like you dared to seduce Brother Lu?”
Yu Zining said nothing, simply looking away.
This clearly enraged her. Yan Yuchen kicked Yu Zining hard in the stomach. The sharp point of her heel made him grit his teeth in pain.
She grabbed his throat, laughing contemptuously. “Yu Zining, tell me—if Brother Lu knew you were a man, how do you think he’d look at you?”
Yu Zining didn’t know how Lu Yeyan would look at him. But every time he thought about it, for some reason, he felt a pang of heartache. The thought of Lu Yeyan looking at him with disgust or strangeness felt like a knife to his chest.
“Who sent you? Disguising yourself as a woman to gain Brother Lu’s trust… what are you really after?”
Yu Zining remained silent. Yan Yuchen began slapping his face like a woman possessed.
“Speak! Tell me!”
Yu Zining’s vision began to blur. Am I going to die? he wondered. In a place like this, who could possibly save him?
BOOM—
A deafening explosion echoed from somewhere. Through his haze, Yu Zining saw someone approaching him. It looked like… Lu Yeyan!
He parted his lips to speak but lost consciousness before he could make a sound.
Lu Yeyan froze. He rushed forward, gathering Yu Zining into his arms. As he untied the ropes, seeing the deep red welts on his wrists and ankles and the swollen cheeks, Lu Yeyan’s face darkened into a terrifying expression.
Yan Yuchen stared at the blasted door and the men Lu Yeyan had brought. Terrified, she tried desperately to prove her point.
“Brother Lu, Brother Lu! He’s a man! Yu Zining is a man! He’s been lying to you, he’s been lying all along! You can’t marry him, you can’t!”
Lu Yeyan snapped his head toward her. His bloodshot eyes looked like those of a predator whose prey had been touched.
He hissed, “Yan Yuchen, I warned you: Never touch him.”
Yan Yuchen looked at him, feeling as though he might devour her in the next second. She was afraid. This time, she was truly terrified.
“Lu… Brother Lu… I… I was wrong!” she stammered.
Lu Yeyan didn’t say another word. He picked Yu Zining up and gave a signal to his men. A moment later, a blood-curdling scream from Yan Yuchen echoed behind him.
When Lu Yeyan carried Yu Zining back into the villa, the staff stared in shock.
Gu Yuan cleared his throat loudly. “What are you staring at? Are the Young Master’s affairs something for you to gossip about? Get moving and attend to them!”
