A car accident stripped Pei Ran of everything. To pay for his mother’s medical bills, he accepted a “breakup fee” and fled the country. Years later, upon returning home, he ran straight into his ex, Gu Linchuang. He watched as Gu Linchuang walked past him with a stony, expressionless face—as if they were total strangers.

Gu Linchuang had spent seven years hating Pei Ran. He hated him for taking the money and running, for disappearing without a word, and for never offering a single explanation. When Pei Ran returned, Gu Linchuang swore he would make him pay for that past abandonment. He vowed to be cold and difficult.
But then, things started getting weird. Why am I still looking out for him like I used to? Why did I go out of my way to buy his favorite snacks? Why doesn’t he snap back when I’m mean? Why is he smiling at me instead?
Gu Linchuang’s internal alarms went off: He must still love me! He’s definitely trying to win me back! After what he did, I won’t let him get his way… …Actually, wait. He seems to really love me. Getting back together might not be such a bad idea.
