My Brother's Arranged Marriage Partner Is My Boyfriend - Chapter 5
“Senior, please behave yourself!”
Bai Nanxing thought this might make Mo Leyang restrain himself, but it had no effect at all. He even heard Mo Leyang chuckle softly in his ear.
The laughter carried a hint of contempt and disdain, making one feel extremely uncomfortable.
But when Bai Nanxing looked up, intending to give a final warning, the look in Mo Leyang’s eyes had changed.
It was a gaze filled with an oppressive pressure, like the leader of a wolf pack—noble, looking down upon his subjects with an irresistible deterrent force.
At this moment, Bai Nanxing had only one thought: This man is dangerous.
Incredibly dangerous.
He wanted to push Mo Leyang away and leave the equipment room, but just as he started to turn, Mo Leyang’s hands pinned him in place.
“Junior, I’m not finished talking yet. Why are you trying to run?”
Bai Nanxing wasn’t afraid of him; he looked up to meet his gaze. No matter how he looked at it, he still found those eyes exceptionally charming. “If this is about me taking the photo, I’ve already apologized. Besides, the photo didn’t even capture your face; the phone can prove it. If there’s nothing else, I’m going back to find my classmate.”
Mo Leyang’s hands against the wall showed no sign of loosening. He lowered his head, slowly leaning toward Bai Nanxing’s neck, pretending to sniff the scent, and said, “Junior, if apologies were useful, why would we need the police? Don’t you agree?”
There was no flaw in that logic. Bai Nanxing couldn’t find a reason to refute it. He suddenly felt that Mo Leyang might be doing this on purpose, yet he couldn’t find a reason why Mo Leyang would target him specifically.
There was no history between them. Mo Leyang was a newly arrived transfer student, and Bai Nanxing had only just met him. They were worlds apart.
Mo Leyang had no reason to target him.
Bai Nanxing couldn’t figure it out.
“Then, Senior, how do you want to resolve this?” Bai Nanxing asked through gritted teeth.
He wasn’t sure what Mo Leyang was playing at, but the moment Mo Leyang’s entire body pressed down, he felt like a little white rabbit in a pet cage. No matter how he struggled, he couldn’t push off the weight of Mo Leyang’s body.
Bai Nanxing wanted to shout, hoping it would make Mo Leyang back off. “Senior, if you keep this up, I’m going to call for help.”
Mo Leyang suddenly blew a breath against the most sensitive part of his neck and whispered in his ear with a smile, “Junior, are you sure you want to shout? People are coming this way. If you shout and they come in and see you like this… what do you think they’ll imagine?”
He didn’t even need to think about that question.
Bai Nanxing glared at him fiercely. “Don’t you care about your own reputation?”
“Of course I do,” Mo Leyang sneered. “But the only one whose reputation will be ruined is you, Junior. I’ll tell them that you called me over here, and that you seduced me into doing this kind of thing in a place like this. Junior, guess who they’ll believe?”
A chill instantly rose from the bottom of Bai Nanxing’s heart. There was no need to guess. He was an illegitimate child, the child of a mistress in everyone’s eyes. The child of a mistress must also be a “mistress”—naturally, it would be he who seduced Mo Leyang.
He should have listened to Yan Mo. If they had come together, Mo Leyang definitely wouldn’t have been able to do this to him.
Bai Nanxing could only blame his own bad luck. He was absolutely certain he didn’t know Mo Leyang at all; he hadn’t even known his name. The man had no reason to want to destroy him.
At that moment, the footsteps outside grew closer.
From the sound of it, there were quite a few people.
Bai Nanxing panicked. He wasn’t strong enough to push Mo Leyang away, so he ended up clutching Mo Leyang’s clothes tightly, pleading with reddened eyes, “S-sorry, Senior. It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have taken the photo. I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
“I’ll say it again, Junior: if apologies worked, why would we need the police?” Mo Leyang looked at Bai Nanxing’s panicked state and became even more excited. “How about this? I’m not an unreasonable person. If you promise to do one thing for me, I won’t make things difficult for you. How does that sound?”
Bai Nanxing instinctively felt that this wouldn’t be anything good and flatly refused. “I won’t!”
Mo Leyang wasn’t angry; he seemed to have expected this reaction. His hands, which had been pinning Bai Nanxing against the wall, slowly moved down, eventually resting on Bai Nanxing’s waist.
And he held him very tightly.
Bai Nanxing couldn’t break free before, and now that the man was actually touching him, it was even harder to push him away. He felt as if he were wrapped in sticky tape; every time he struggled, Mo Leyang held him tighter, until he could hardly breathe.
The footsteps outside the door were like a death knell, getting closer and closer. In a moment, someone was heard turning the doorknob.
But the equipment room door had long been locked by Mo Leyang. The students coming to get equipment couldn’t open it and could only stand outside discussing it.
“Did the manager lock the door?”
“Shouldn’t be. Lots of classes have PE today. The PE teachers usually tell the manager in advance if they need equipment. Besides, didn’t someone from Finance Class 2 just get a basketball? It can’t be that the manager locked it.”
“Could someone has locked it from the inside?”
“Maybe. Let’s ask.”
Terrified of making even the slightest sound, Bai Nanxing bit his lip and kept his head down.
They were embracing right by the door. If they made even a tiny unusual sound, the students standing outside would definitely hear.
“Is someone in there?”
Bai Nanxing gripped Mo Leyang’s clothes tightly, pleading in a low voice, “Don’t… don’t let them know. I-I’m sorry, I was wrong.”
Mo Leyang curled his lips into a smile and said, “An apology requires sincerity, doesn’t it? But looking at you like this, I don’t see any sincerity. I’ll have to think about whether or not to help.”
“Are there students inside? We’re in a hurry to get equipment. If you don’t open the door, we’re going to get the manager.”
Bai Nanxing then heard the sound of footsteps walking away. If the manager came, they would definitely break the door down. If he were caught being held by Mo Leyang like this, he wouldn’t be able to clear his name even if he jumped into the Yellow River.
He grits his teeth and finally surrendered to reality. “Don’t let them leave. I promise!”
Mo Leyang flashed a winner’s smile, his lips brushing against Bai Nanxing’s forehead as he whispered a praise, “Good boy.”
His tone was like he was coaxing a child who had admitted a mistake, while he acted as the magnanimous forgiver who didn’t hold a grudge.
This person was not ordinary.
He was dangerous.
Extremely dangerous.
Bai Nanxing felt this from the bottom of his heart.
Yet Mo Leyang acted as if nothing were wrong, putting a finger to his lips in a “shushing” gesture. “You go get the equipment—the swimming rings—and I’ll go out and explain to them.”
Perhaps worried that Bai Nanxing would go back on his word and run away, Mo Leyang lowered his head and warned, “Junior, if you take the chance to run or back out, you’ll have to bear the consequences yourself.”
This was no joke; Bai Nanxing could feel the threat in Mo Leyang’s tone. If he really dared to back out, Mo Leyang truly would destroy him.
“I won’t run. If I promised, I’ll do it.”
Speaking of which, Bai Nanxing still didn’t know what Mo Leyang wanted him to do. He asked in passing, “Senior, you haven’t said what you want me to do yet.”
Mo Leyang looked thoughtful; clearly, this was a spur-of-the-moment plan.
Bai Nanxing really wanted to ask if he had offended him somewhere before. They clearly didn’t know each other; this wasn’t funny or fun at all.
But Mo Leyang didn’t intend to answer Bai Nanxing’s question, only saying, “I haven’t thought of specifically what I want you to do yet. When I do, I’ll take the initiative to tell you.”
He narrowed his eyes and smiled slightly.
He looked very much like a cunning fox darting through the jungle.
But Bai Nanxing felt that Mo Leyang wasn’t a fox, but a wild wolf.
The moment you let your guard down, you would be devoured.
Bai Nanxing didn’t dare disobey his command and went to get the swimming rings as discussed. Mo Leyang didn’t lie to him; after opening the door and going out, he caught up with the students who were going to find the manager. After an explanation, the students turned back to get their equipment.
After staying in the equipment room for about ten minutes, Bai Nanxing and Mo Leyang returned with a dozen swimming rings.
Yan Mo saw them from a distance, and after confirming Bai Nanxing was alright, he hurried over to help.
The three of them placed the dozen rings by the pool for the students who couldn’t swim to practice with.
Just as Bai Nanxing turned to leave, Mo Leyang suddenly leaned in and whispered in his ear, “Junior, I don’t have your contact information yet. If I can’t find you later, I’ll be very distressed. When people get distressed, they easily lose control, and there’s no guaranteeing what they might do. Do you understand what I mean, Junior?”
He was simply worried about him backing out.
Bai Nanxing looked up into his eyes and said, “Room 503, Finance College Men’s Dormitory.”
Having obtained the specific address, Mo Leyang patted Bai Nanxing on the back with satisfaction and smiled. “Go back to your classmate; he’s waiting for you.”
Bai Nanxing wanted to glare at him, but considering there were too many onlookers and his reputation was already poor, he feared that if a photo were taken, he would be targeted miserably given how popular Mo Leyang was.
After a moment’s thought, he endured it.
A gentleman’s revenge is never too late.
One day, he would make Mo Leyang pay the price!
Bai Nanxing walked listlessly toward where Yan Mo was standing.
Seeing him approach, Yan Mo asked worriedly, “Nanxing, did the Senior make things difficult for you?”
Bai Nanxing could never let Yan Mo know what happened in the equipment room. Knowing that Yan Mo tended to overthink things, he forced a small smile. “No, don’t worry. The matter has been settled.”
Yan Mo breathed a sigh of relief.
What happened today was done by Bai Nanxing for his sake. He just hadn’t expected the new transfer student to care so much about his image rights, or to be so precise in catching their filming location.
Fortunately, they hadn’t caught his face; otherwise, they would have become “famous” at school.
