Misty Nights in Hong Kong - Chapter 21
I’d Recognize You Even If You Turned to Ash!
A staff member handed over a phone and tapped open a video.
Several people craned their necks toward Lu Liang, their eyes fixed on the screen.
In the video, a woman dressed in a black waitress miniskirt handed a few tickets to another woman before accepting a black veil from her and putting it on.
Then, she bent down to pick up several bottles of imported liquor, carried them in her hands, and walked straight toward a private room.
“This… Manager Gu is going undercover?” Jiang Liangchen beside Lu Liang couldn’t help but exclaim in a low voice.
“Zhao Niesen, that guy plays dirty behind closed doors.”
Duan Jingwen frowned as he watched Gu Xiangsi entering the private room in the video. “If Manager Gu goes in there, who knows if she’ll end up corrupted…”
Before he could finish, Duan Jingwen suddenly felt a chill run down the back of his neck.
He turned around and met Fu Sinian’s icy, sinister gaze.
Duan Jingwen’s heart skipped a beat, and he swallowed the rest of his words, immediately shutting his mouth.
Inside the dimly lit private room, the music was deafening, and the lights flickered wildly.
Gu Xiangsi held the liquor bottles, her eyes quickly scanning the room before landing on Zhao Niesen, who sat on a single sofa at the far end.
He had an arm around each of two hostesses, their chests practically pressed against his face.
She lowered her head slightly as she approached, first opening the liquor bottle’s pour spout.
At the same time, she deliberately let the power bank in her other pocket stick out conspicuously.
Just as she was about to straighten up, Zhao Niesen happened to glance over and jerked his chin at her. “You, come here.”
Gu Xiangsi took a step forward.
“Lend me your power bank. My phone’s dead.”
Zhao Niesen pointed at the exposed power bank as he spoke.
The corners of Gu Xiangsi’s lips curled slightly as she smiled. “Mr. Zhao, let me charge it for you. If you hold it yourself now, you might spill the liquor, that wouldn’t be good.”
Zhao Niesen thought it made sense and didn’t overthink it. He simply picked up his phone from the table and handed it over.
Gu Xiangsi took the phone and added with a smile, “Someone like you, Mr. Zhao, handling big business, your phone should always be fully charged. Missing just one call could mean losing millions. That’d be such a shame.”
She deliberately stepped aside, plugged the charging cable into the phone, and a prompt popped up on the screen: “Trust this device and allow data access?”
Without a trace of reaction, she tapped “Allow” and placed the phone on the nearby coffee table.
Zhao Niesen downed a glass of liquor, glanced at the two women beside him, and raised his chin with a suggestive smirk. “Now, which one of you is going to serve me ‘High Mountain Flowing Water’?”
One of the women immediately stood up and stripped off her already sheer outerwear.
Gu Xiangsi quietly retreated further into the shadows. The woman was now left in nothing but a bikini, pouring liquor down her own chest.
The men nearby whistled and cheered as the music suddenly blared louder.
Other hostesses followed suit, drenching themselves with liquor from their chests downward.
Zhao Niesen leaned forward, actually pressing his face against the woman’s chest, licking upward along the trail of liquor.
Gu Xiangsi was genuinely shocked. Her face flushed crimson just as her pocket vibrated with an incoming message.
Nan Yu had texted:
[The program’s been implanted. It’ll take a few minutes.]
When Gu Xiangsi looked up again, the private room had descended into chaos. Several men had stripped off their shirts and were fumbling with their belts.
She abruptly lowered her head further, her fingertips tightening around the phone in her hand.
The private room door was pushed open, and several people walked in.
Gu Xiangsi instinctively looked up, freezing in place the moment she did.
Fu Sinian stood with one hand on his hip, his tall frame accentuated by the black suit he wore. His cold, icy gaze swept over her face before settling on the chaotic crowd.
Zhao Niesen was the first to react. He glanced up and quickly waved at the waiter. “Turn the music down!”
Then, with a forced smile, he said, “President Fu, President Lu? What brings you here today?”
Lu Liang chuckled, tilting his chin up. “President Zhao, forgetful as always? This place happens to be my turf.”
“Ah, my bad memory.”
Zhao Niesen laughed it off, standing up and straightening his suit pants. “Come on, since we’ve run into each other, why not join us for a few drinks?”
Fu Sinian, hands in his pockets, scanned the quieter VIP area behind them before stepping up onto the small platform and taking a seat.
Lu Liang and the others followed suit.
Duan Jingwen glanced at the disorderly scene inside, his tone laced with mockery. “President Zhao, you sure know how to have fun. Don’t mind us, we’ll just enjoy the live show.”
“How embarrassing,” Zhao Niesen said with a laugh, waving at the waiter again. “Go call a few more over.”
The waiter hurried off and soon returned with a lineup of scantily clad hostesses, standing in a row with their hands clasped, waiting for Fu Sinian and the others to make their picks.
Fu Sinian didn’t even lift his eyes, casually picking up a pomegranate from the table and peeling it onto a plate with disinterest.
Lu Liang and the others exchanged glances, clearing their throats quietly, none of them making a move.
Zhao Niesen, still standing, pulled a few hostesses over and pushed them toward Lu Liang’s group.
He turned to Fu Sinian. “President Fu, which one catches your eye? These are the best of the best here.”
Fu Sinian glanced at the lineup and scoffed. “They look like a bunch of rejects.”
“Get another batch.”
Only then did Fu Sinian slowly raise his head, his gaze sweeping across the room before landing on a figure in the corner.
Zhao Niesen followed his line of sight and, spotting Gu Xiangsi standing to the side, blinked in surprise before grinning. “President Fu likes that type? But she’s just a waitress.”
Fu Sinian didn’t respond, merely curling a finger at Gu Xiangsi, his meaning crystal clear.
He wanted her.
Gu Xiangsi exhaled quietly, but her heart sank.
She touched the phone in her pocket, still no message.
With no way to leave now, she had no choice but to steel herself and walk to the edge of the platform, stopping to ask softly, “What can I do for you, President Fu?”
The moment the words left her lips, an arm suddenly wrapped around her waist.
She stumbled, falling straight into the man’s embrace.
Fu Sinian’s low, husky voice whispered by her ear, “Gu Xiangsi, did you really think I wouldn’t recognize you just because you’re wearing a veil?”
“I’d know you even if you turned to ashes.”
Gu Xiangsi’s body visibly stiffened.
The man’s gaze flicked pointedly to a corner of the table, his tone threatening. “If you don’t want me to say more, sit still and behave.”
Gu Xiangsi pressed her lips together, not daring to make another sound.
Zhao Niesen, catching the mood, signaled to the others.
Soon, the music in the private room was turned down, the lights dimmed, and the “entertainment” resumed.
Lu Liang and the other two started playing drinking games with the hostesses beside them, the noise in the room growing louder by the minute.
Gu Xiangsi looked up just as her gaze collided with Fu Sinian’s. She lowered her voice and asked, “President Fu, what exactly are you trying to do?”
Fu Sinian didn’t answer. Instead, he picked up the plate of peeled pomegranate from the coffee table and placed it in her hand, uttering two simple words: “Feed me.”
Left with no choice, Gu Xiangsi began picking up the pomegranate seeds one by one, placing them into his mouth.
The moment her fingertips brushed against his lips, he gently took them between his teeth, giving a light nip. An inexplicable shiver ran through her body, her fingers tingling as if electrified.
His hand, warm to the touch, had somehow found its way to her waist, slowly tracing circles there. His tone was unreadable as he spoke.
“Gu Xiangsi, you dare to barge into a place like this. Tell me, what exactly is your purpose?”
