- Chapter 1 - The Love Rival Has a Pair of Little Tiger Teeth
Dai Siyun sat in the driver’s seat, elbows lazily propped against the window and his back straight as he listlessly scrolled through his phone.
An Alpha youth who had just turned eighteen, he possessed exceptional features and bone structure. His dark, messy hair was a bit on the long side, adding a touch of gloom to his naturally cold and handsome aura.
Perhaps it was a selfie from a certain teenage blogger that had caught his eye; he had given it a heart a few days ago.
But as fate would have it.
Dai Siyun had just learned from his best friend that this person’s identity was, to put it mildly, complicated.
[Siyun.]
[Talk about a twist of fate.]
[That blogger you’re following? He’s that Alpha love rival of yours.]
The title was provocatively pointed.
Dai Siyun shifted his gaze downward. In the photo, the boy hadn’t shown his face. He wore a cool motorcycle suit, his excessively long, straight legs paired with pitch-black biker boots.
If one looked closely, the blurred edges of his facial profile showed hair with a hint of reddish-brown, perfectly matching his sharp and dashing style.
Dai Siyun recalled why he had followed the account in the first place.
It wasn’t exactly “like,” but rather a sense of appreciation. The guy played with motorcycles and delved into extreme sports. Unlike Dai Siyun and his friend, who were heirs to major corporations, this boy didn’t seem to have his life’s path set in stone from the moment he reached adulthood.
For instance—
Dai Siyun had been forced into an arranged marriage. Because his protests were ignored, he had been locked away on an island for nearly two months.
The marriage had nothing to do with anything else. Given the status of his two Alpha fathers in the business world, an alliance built on family interests was actually secondary. It all came down to the fact that his Omega fiancé had a staggering 98.7% compatibility rate with him.
Thinking of this, Dai Siyun rested his face on his left hand. His expression looked indifferent, but in reality, he felt absolutely terrible.
Suddenly.
A silhouette caught his eye. A boy waiting at a red light sat tall and straight astride a motorcycle, wearing a helmet. A leather jacket, zipped to the top, hugged the smooth lines of his body. Below his narrow waist, a pair of straight, long legs were far too eye-catching.
Clearly cool as could be, the boy nonetheless wore a stuffed animal backpack slung across his shoulder—a Gabumon with little pointed horns, looking as though it would hug him even in a windstorm.
Vroom—
The light turned green. The boy instantly hunched over, twisted the throttle, and strands of slightly messy hair peeked out from under his helmet. As the motorcycle sped forward into the wind, both the bike and the plushie vanished completely from sight.
Dai Siyun froze. “…”
Was it him?
Dai Siyun stepped on the gas, attempting to catch up, but at the fork in the road, he lost the motorcycle as they headed in different directions.
He had to go to the airport to pick up his friend, while the other boy turned right, toward a sign pointing to “Pearl Bay Circuit.”
Pearl Bay?
That was exactly where he and his friend had agreed to go later to watch the races and clear their heads.
About two hours later.
The black Rolls-Royce Phantom arrived in the suburbs. A massive sign sat nestled in the mountains, displaying “Pearl Bay Circuit” in two languages. Following the signs, the sports car pulled into the inner parking area.
A shuttle took the VIP guests to the high-altitude stands with the best view, overlooking the winding, narrow racetrack. The arrival of two S-class Alphas brought an innate sense of pressure, simultaneously attracting and intimidating the surrounding spectators.
S-class—
This was practically a walking symbol of status. It meant possessing absolute advantages in intelligence and physical stamina, and usually required a specialized family background to nurture such exceptional offspring.
The lights flickered on as the brilliant sunset glow faded. The sea breeze drifting from the bay was gentle and calm.
“Good thing you brought me some mosquito repellent.”
Xing Xun took the ointment from Dai Siyun. He had been bitten badly and felt even more annoyed. “Have you met Zhu Yingtian yet?”
Xing Xun was Dai Siyun’s childhood friend, though he attended a different school: Yingrui International, a famous private high school in Hong Kong.
As for the Omega named Zhu Yingtian, he was Xing Xun’s schoolmate. As the pampered only grandson of Hong Kong’s wealthiest tycoon, he was also Dai Siyun’s “quasi-fiancé.”
Dai Siyun sat back casually, his tone heavy. “I haven’t seen him.”
Xing Xun replied, “Alright.”
“Then let’s talk about your Alpha love rival.”
“You aren’t at Yingrui, so you don’t know, but that Alpha is a year younger than us, and his relationship with Zhu Yingtian is incredibly ambiguous.”
“He’s pretty mysterious. He skips class constantly, and he didn’t even show up for the standard Yingrui physical exam. I’ve always been curious about what he’s doing outside of school.”
He emphasized the last few words. Along with his commentary, Xing Xun handed over a SVIP dedicated tablet, opening the winner rankings for the Pearl Bay Circuit.
Dai Siyun narrowed his eyes and immediately spotted the most prominent driver named “F.” He held the top spot with a crushing number of victories. Clicking on the profile revealed a low-profile A-class Alpha with no real name or photo a stark contrast to his ranking.
However, this mysterious youth was a rather unique age: 17.
Dai Siyun finally smirked. Eighteen was the minimum age to enter the competition, but some teams would accept 17-year-old drivers provided they showed mature, high-level performance during pre-race trials.
Xing Xun added, “His name is Fu Chen. He looks so powerful, but he’s actually just an A-class. God, don’t tell me this is some kind of cosmic joke…”
If he was just an A-class, yet managed to make the grandson of Hong Kong’s richest man fall head over heels, it felt like he was secretly beating S-classes like them. That definitely sparked a sense of crisis.
Even Dai Siyun couldn’t help but feel a bit of that.
Dai Siyun asked, “Is that all?”
“I’m still digging,” Xing Xun teased. “Your fiancé is getting close to someone else, you jealous?”
Dai Siyun stared straight ahead. The night breeze ruffled the hair on his forehead, exposing his deep, sharp eyes. The boy looked cold and detached. “You’re overthinking it.”
But he was, in fact, a bit annoyed.
After all, he had hired a private investigator to look into it. Zhu Yingtian wanted to decline the marriage because of this Alpha boy, but his protests had been just as useless as Dai Siyun’s.
It wasn’t that he was overly arrogant.
S-class Alphas were rare and precious, and with the Dai family’s immense wealth and status, even Old Man Zhu, the wealthiest man in Hong Kong, was desperate for this marriage to happen.
Initially, Dai Siyun hadn’t been very accepting. But after being locked on the island for two months by his father, he had calmed down and convinced himself to try and get to know the Omega.
He just hadn’t expected the Omega to be less direct with his elders. Instead of protesting openly, the boy had cried his eyes out in private, saying the Alpha he liked at school was more handsome than anyone.
Dai Siyun had been a golden child since birth and never lacked for excellent Omegas pursuing him. Now, he was more curious than anyone to see what kind of face this Alpha actually had.
At that moment.
Xing Xun, acting like a soulless broadcasting machine, stared at his phone and read aloud, “Fu Chen, Yingrui International High School, Class 14, Grade 11. An A-class Alpha.”
“F1 Racing Club amateur driver. Usually signs up for street races with high prize pools. Logically, he should be competing today.”
“Tsk…”
“But he hasn’t competed much lately, just during this holiday break. That doesn’t make sense!”
As those words drifted into his mind, the orange sunset faded. The giant screen on the track switched images, and the distant stands erupted in a roar, reminiscent of a crowd of screaming fans.
It seemed to be an accidental surprise caused by a staff member’s mistake.
Dai Siyun, acting like a mere bystander, instinctively looked up. On the massive screen, a tall, straight-backed youth entered the frame.
He was wearing headphones, walking across the grass toward the backstage area, completely unaware that he was being watched by tens of thousands of people.
As the camera panned up, the familiar biker boots, jeans, and black jacket came into full view, along with the Gabumon backpack slung behind him. It was so cute that some Omegas in the front row began screaming, lifting their phones to snap photo after photo of the screen.
The gaze lingered on the boy’s fair neck for just half a second before his face suddenly leapt into view.
On the giant screen, the Alpha youth was exquisitely handsome with a sharp, cool aura. His defiant red hair was like a flame, spreading across the endless wilderness.
Seeing a staff member waving at him, Fu Chen smiled willfully, revealing a pair of extremely cute little tiger teeth. Several images overlapped in that moment, but none were as vivid or real as the person right now.
Dai Siyun’s Adam’s apple bobbed. Perhaps he was thirsty, as he drained the sparkling water in his hand in one gulp.
He admitted, this guy’s face was indeed impressive.
But.
If he wasn’t mistaken.
For a split second when the camera swept past that clean nape, it revealed a slightly red, fragile area. Fu Chen seemed to instinctively try to cover it. That spot happened to be the scent gland that Alphas took such pride in.
Why?
Why would he unconsciously try to hide that patch of skin?
At the same time.
As the cameras panned around the venue, the giant screens on both sides showed different display areas. Due to a random “lucky fan” shot of the stands, another Alpha appeared on screen, and the crowd’s roar reached a crescendo.
“Holy crap!”
“Is that an S-class?”
“Those two handsome faces have so much tension!”
The two Alphas, situated in different environments, looked up at the same time and saw each other on the big screen.
Hearing the tsunami of cheers, Dai Siyun’s handsome face remained cold and sharp. Meanwhile, Fu Chen, walking toward the backstage, subconsciously tightened his hand over the back of his neck, his breath hitching.
What a handsome face.
The cool and dashing Alpha youth stared at the black-haired hottie on the screen, feeling a subtle, uncontrollable heat rising from the gland at the back of his neck. It was a reaction born of pure instinct.
