Married the Abandoned Puppy Alpha - Chapter 3
Chapter 3: Holding a Group Meeting
Seeing the two Alphas in front leave, Song Xiao finally had a gap to rush over.
She comforted him: “As soon as we get out, we’ll slip away immediately. This time it was me who didn’t judge the person correctly; next time”
“There’s a next time?” He Xinglou complained bitterly. “Let’s not.”
He shouldn’t even have come this time; for him, today was a day where nothing was suitable.
Song Xiao spoke with earnest intentions: “Don’t ‘stop eating because of a cough’ (give up entirely due to one setback), okay? The newly introduced policies handle undocumented residents with a severity that is life-threatening. If you don’t settle your registration as soon as possible, in case you are found out, it isn’t something that can be solved just by going to jail; you might even be expelled from the Imperial Capital Star and have a criminal record.”
Although she and Lin Shuyan were not yet married, they had both found their own partners; in this regard, they couldn’t help at all.
Of course, He Xinglou would absolutely not allow them to sacrifice their own marriages to help him with this favor.
This was also the reason why the two of them, in a desperate search for any remedy, forced He Xinglou into blind dates.
“If you have a criminal record, even if you go to another planet, what kind of work could you do? Wait to be exiled? You”
Song Xiao made herself feel upset and stopped the topic.
He Xinglou couldn’t stand to see her sad and softened his tone: “I didn’t say I wouldn’t go on blind dates. It’s just… there has to be some screening. Look at what kind of person you found?”
Song Xiao’s mood finally improved; she raised her hands in a prayer gesture toward him: “Regarding today’s matter, can you not tell Shuyan? You know that poisonous mouth of his; he would definitely mock me to death.”
He Xinglou didn’t know whether to laugh or cry and agreed.
Now that the formation had changed, the Omega named Shen Yuze was left alone. He Xinglou and Song Xiao were still chatting in low voices when they suddenly heard the sound of quiet sniffing from behind.
He Xinglou suddenly remembered that when they first met, Shen Yuze said he was afraid of the dark.
“Come walk with us; being alone makes it easy to attract monsters,” he called out.
Shen Yuze froze, gave a small whimper, and hurriedly crowded closer.
He Xinglou felt he was quite pitiful and took the initiative to explain: “Once we go out, this blind date counts as over; I won’t continue to contact Fang Chi.”
It’s best if you don’t have a ‘love brain’ (obsessive) either, and don’t contact him anymore. — He Xinglou endured and endured this sentence before finally not meddling and saying it out loud.
Shen Yuze was still sad: “But I see that Fang Chi likes you very much.”
“But I don’t like him.” He Xinglou laughed and asked, “How old is Fang Chi?”
Shen Yuze answered without hesitation: “20 years old, a Capricorn. I am a Taurus; we are a very good match.”
Even in an alien world, they still believe in this horoscope set!! He Xinglou really wanted to complain.
But this also allowed him to find a precise reason: “I don’t like partners who are younger than me. Instead of choosing him, I’d rather choose the Omega I had a blind date with this morning.”
“An Omega??”
Obviously, the attraction of gossip dispersed the disappointment of being “scummed” (mistreated); Shen Yuze widened his eyes.
Fearing he wouldn’t believe it, He Xinglou simply tapped out the photo from his terminal to show him: “This was my blind date this morning. Although he is an Omega, at least his age meets my requirements.”
“I only like those who are older!” He Xinglou said decisively, speaking with such conviction that he almost fooled himself.
Song Xiao made “keng-chi keng-chi” sounds of suppressed laughter beside him.
“You’re so strict about the age limit…” Shen Yuze had no doubts and completely lowered his guard.
But immediately afterward he frowned, leaning close to the terminal: “Wait, this person… Why does he look a bit like Fang Chi’s older cousin?”
Song Xiao suddenly coughed loudly.
He Xinglou hurriedly turned off the terminal and shifted the topic: “Alright, let’s catch up. Once we’re out, I will explain things properly to Fang Chi.”
Only then was this matter smoothed over.
When the group emerged from the room’s escape exit, He Xinglou clearly noticed that the staff’s gazes toward them were exceptionally enthusiastic.
He really didn’t want to provide the staff with any more gossip material, so he quickly dragged the group to find a coffee shop to sit down.
A two-person blind date turned into a five-person group meeting.
Shi Qingze took the initiative to pour lemon water for everyone. Fang Chi and Shen Yuze were both startled by this action and hurriedly stood up to take the pitcher, but were dodged by Shi Qingze.
Shi Qingze lifted his eyelids and signaled: “You guys say what you have to say; end it early.”
It seemed he really wanted to leave. Xinglou glanced at him.
Fang Chi looked toward He Xinglou expectantly: “Xinglou, since we’ve met through a blind date, how about we add each other’s contact information?”
A glass of lemon water was placed in front of him with a “dong” sound, and the splashing water spilled onto the back of Fang Chi’s extended hand.
He Xinglou didn’t move, keeping his tone as gentle as possible: “Mr. Fang, I think it’s not necessary; let’s let this blind date end here.”
Another glass of lemon water was pushed gently to his hand.
“Thank you,” He Xinglou said in a low voice, looking down.
“Why?” Fang Chi was extremely puzzled. “Is it that I didn’t do something well enough?”
Where exactly DID you do something well? Xinglou really wanted to question him.
He brought out that set of rhetoric again: “It’s not that you aren’t good, it’s that we aren’t suitable.”
Immediately, he signaled Shen Yuze with his eyes; he had coaxed the kid for so long just so that Shen Yuze could help speak up at this moment.
Shen Yuze nodded and looked at Fang Chi seriously: “Don’t even dream about it; Xinglou already told me just now, he doesn’t like those younger than him.”
The pitcher containing lemon water “kuang-dang” bumped against a glass.
“So that’s how it is…” Fang Chi was despondent. “Is there really not even a shred of hope?”
Shen Yuze got angry seeing his “lust-clouded” appearance and said coldly: “Xinglou would rather choose an Omega than choose someone young; give up on this idea!”
“An Omega?” The one asking was Shi Qingze.
For some reason, Shen Yuze also seemed afraid of him; his expression instantly became much more restrained, and he said honestly: “Xinglou showed me the photo…”
“Wait!” Xinglou realized something was wrong and hurriedly raised his hand to stop him.
Unfortunately, Shen Yuze’s mouth was faster than his hand, and he had already spat out the sentence: “That Omega even looks a bit like Brother Qingze.”
He Xinglou: “…”
He tried hard to salvage the situation: “It’s just a coincidence; the difference between an Omega and an Alpha is still very large.”
Who would believe that? Even the way Song Xiao looked at him carried a few hints of “understanding.”
He Xinglou wished he could find a crack in the ground to crawl into.
Shi Qingze put down the pitcher and turned to look at him seriously: “Does he really look like me?”
“Is it like me now, or like me when I was a child?”
As soon as these words came out, the entire scene went silent.
Fang Chi and Shen Yuze finally realized something was wrong in hindsight, their gazes hesitatingly circling between the two.
He Xinglou sighed inwardly, thinking to himself that today’s matter was unavoidable after all.
But in his heart, he was also vaguely a bit angry.
Since Shi Qingze had recognized him long ago yet insisted on pretending not to know him, he presumably didn’t want to be involved with him anymore.
He had originally intended to just be like strangers, parting ways when the blind date ended, but he didn’t expect this situation to break out here.
How to reply now? Deny it to the death? Or shake out the tangled mess of their past?
Just thinking about it made He Xinglou feel tired.
“Hey, Shi Qingze.” Song Xiao spoke up at this moment.
She leaned back in her chair with her arms crossed and legs hooked over each other, looking like a “big sister” figure, very much in a posture of wanting to back He Xinglou up.
“How come you only poured half the water? I haven’t had a drink yet.”
After speaking, she pointed to the empty glass in front of her.
Fang Chi jumped up in fright, pointing his finger at Song Xiao: “How are you speaking! Do you know who my brother is?!”
Song Xiao laughed: “I know, a candidate for the heir of the Shi family, who also went missing once three years ago.”
She leaned forward, pushing the empty glass over, her gaze carrying a warning: “Since he comes from a wealthy family that we can’t ‘climb up to’ (socially associate with), he surely won’t hold it against us for saying the wrong thing, right?”
Shi Qingze confronted her calmly and took the water glass.
“What is there to hold against you?” He brushed the matter aside lightheartedly.
The atmosphere was instantly smoothed over. He Xinglou silently shifted his gaze away, looking aimlessly out the floor-to-ceiling window.
The night was deep, and his mood darkened along with it.
When it was time to leave, the various parties were a bit awkward. Fang Chi and Shen Yuze hurriedly ran off first, while Song Xiao went to issue a parking slip.
That left Shi Qingze, as if he had no situational awareness, standing together with He Xinglou at the coffee shop entrance.
“Where do you live, shall I send you back?” Shi Qingze looked down at him.
How dare I let him know my residence!
He Xinglou didn’t even think: “No need, I”
“Xinglou is going back with me.” Song Xiao’s hand rested on He Xinglou’s shoulder, looking over with a smile. “I drove today.”
Shi Qingze’s gaze landed on her arm, and he lowered his brow.
Then he turned his eyes toward He Xinglou, as if waiting for his confirmation.
He Xinglou immediately said: “I’m going with Song Xiao.”
After he finished speaking, he seemed to see Shi Qingze’s lips purse slightly, though he didn’t know if it was because he was angry at being rejected.
But Song Xiao, as if she hadn’t noticed this scorching atmosphere at all, pulled him along lightheartedly: “Let’s go, we’re going to the parking lot!”
He Xinglou followed obediently.
After walking a few steps forward, he suddenly remembered whether he should say goodbye to Shi Qingze.
On second thought, he felt they were just strangers, and there seemed to be no need for that extra layer of politeness.
So he walked to the underground garage without looking back.
As it turned out, Song Xiao forgot where her suspended car was parked, and the two of them searched for a long time like headless flies, panting like dogs from exhaustion.
In the midst of the collapse, He Xinglou naturally threw the matter of “meeting Shi Qingze” to the back of his mind.
After searching for the car for about half an hour, He Xinglou finally sat in the passenger seat, wishing he could give Song Xiao two punches.
“Next time can you please turn on the suspended car’s positioning! High technology is meant to be used!”
Song Xiao laughed until she couldn’t catch her breath: “Stop scolding me! This time it was my fault. Reminding you one more time, you absolutely must not tell Shuyan.”
He Xinglou pointed out unceremoniously: “The two of you are ‘half a catty to eight taels’ (evenly matched); next time you both have to treat me to a meal.”
Song Xiao laughed even harder until she couldn’t straighten her back.
As the suspended car flew over the coffee shop, He Xinglou looked down as if possessed and suddenly sat up straight.
“What’s wrong? Did you forget something?” Song Xiao’s driving skills weren’t great, so she didn’t dare look around randomly, only staring straight ahead as she asked.
He Xinglou looked out the window for a long while until they had completely driven away before relaxing.
“Nothing,” he said in a small voice.
It was just that he saw Shi Qingze still standing alone at the shop entrance, not knowing what he was waiting for.
If He Xinglou weren’t certain that he was currently in a visual blind spot from the ground, he would even mistakenly think that Shi Qingze was still watching him.
Fine sounds tapped against the car glass. He Xinglou concentrated to look and found they were slender water marks.
It was raining.
