After fifteen years in the apocalypse, Xu Jing had exhausted all her resources. Following a final, brutal battle with the Zombie King, she opened her eyes to find everything had changed.
She had been reborn as a debt ridden hunter with a wife, a house, and a small plot of land.
Her young wife treats her with cold indifference, marked by distance and fear. Her house is a crumbling collection of mud-brick rooms, barely habitable. With only a few acres of thin, poor soil, they have just enough to survive, and life is bitter and bleak.

Living off the land, she takes up her hunting bow without hesitation. To her surprise, she discovers that her plant based superpowers have followed her to this world.
Ecstatic, Xu Jing begins capturing pheasants, hares, mountain goats, wild boars, and deer. She brings the haul home for her wife to cook into delicious meals, devouring them with gusto. Using her powers, she masters hunting, brewing, and farming. She expands her land, buys property, and builds a new home, transforming herself into a wealthy landowner.
Song Yu was set up by others and ended up married off to a poor hunter who lived alone with an elderly grandmother. Her “husband” in name was a gloomy, somber person who always watched people with a sinister, sidelong glance, looking like a ghost.
Remembering the village rumors, Song Yu felt her skin crawl. But one day, her husband suddenly changed. “He” became talkative and cheerful, even venturing deep into the mountains to hunt.
Though she originally intended to just “make do” with the marriage, their hearts grew closer without her even realizing it, until Song Yu discovered her “husband’s” secret.
Regarding her wife discovering her true identity, Xu Jing was initially indifferent: “Women will only slow down the speed of my progress!”
She respected Song Yu’s choice. “It doesn’t matter. I won’t bind you. Once you find a good man, we will divorce.”
However, when Song Yu actually started being pursued by a suitor, Xu Jing found the sight incredibly eyesore. She wanted nothing more than to beat the suitor to a pulp. She finally admitted her previous arrogance: “I take back those foolish words. You are my wife, you aren’t allowed to think of anyone else!”
