“Wh-When did you start…?”
“From the very beginning. I’ve loved you since the first time I saw you.”
There was a man I could never defeat, Aldebaran Stark.
That man was Sirius Louvre, a genius born with everything: a noble family, great taste, and pure talent.
We met at the Royal Magic Academy when we were ten years old.
Sirius is a genius. However, he was also reckless, unplanned, and sloppy—a total spoiled brat. On top of that, he was selfish. Compared to him, I was calm and steady, the type to use my head before my body. Before I knew it, the adults around us had schemed to make me Sirius’s caretaker.
Whether we were picking partners, eating meals, or even sharing a room, we were always together until we graduated at eighteen and it stayed the same at our new jobs.
Even at our post in the remote borderlands, I was put in charge of looking after Sirius. We spent our busy days there until, one day, monsters appeared in the border forest. When we went to the site to clear them out, I noticed something was wrong with the monsters’ behavior.
Sirius found the cause and moved to strike, but he was hit by a monster’s attack and seriously injured.
Seeing Sirius like that for the first time made me panic; I was incredibly anxious. I couldn’t focus on anything while waiting for him to wake up. When the man I was so worried about finally opened his eyes three days later, something changed.
“…Sirius?”
“Al, you’re just too kind.”
My back was pressed against the bed, and Sirius was right in front of me with a look I had never seen before.
His eyes, which always sparkled like a bright star, were now wet with a dark, dim heat. It wasn’t the look or the voice you would ever give a friend.
“—You can’t push me away, can you?”
I had no way to resist the heat coming down on me.
After that day, our relationship changed. But I still didn’t understand why Sirius had done such a thing.
This is the story of two people—one who was kept all to himself for eight years without even realizing it, and the chaos that follows as he remains clueless about the sheer scale of the love being aimed at him.
